Press refuses again to check and report the facts, this time in BART shooting
The crescent memorial to Flight 93 would have been stopped long ago if the media was willing to check and report simple facts like the Mecca-orientation of the giant crescent. The same thing happens whenever the facts of a case are not congenial to our left-wing elites.
Another extreme example is now taking place in Oakland California, where inflammatory reports of police criminality in the New Year’s Day shooting of Oscar Grant are held up by the Oakland street mob as justication for last week’s murder of four police officers. Even after this massacre of Oakland police, the press still refuses to publish dramatic exculpatory evidence in the Oscar Grant case.

So, why won’t he show the birth certificate, anyway?
I am not personally convinced the birth certificate is an issue, but I have to say, I have no leg to stand on but my “feeling” that it isn’t relevant because we’ve not seen actual birth certificate to butress my “feeling.” So, what do I tell people that insist this is an important issue?
I have nothing logical to tell them to disabuse them of their notion because I can’t prove them wrong.
So, why won’t Obama just publish the real birth certificate?

TNR’s Chait gets it wrong thinking Americans are all nouveau left-wingers just because Barack Obama won the White House
Jonathan Chait is all upset at the Democratic Party. Hs is damning their eyes for not blindly accepting every extremist, left-wing idea that President Obama would like to implement. Chait is wailing that Congressional Democrats are standing athwart Obama’s radical agenda just when he assumes we are at a “once-in-a-generation chance for the Democratic Party to reshape” the country.
Chait is right, of course, that Congressional Democrats are not bending over blindly for Obama’s agenda and many elected officials are jealously guarding their privilege is true enough. He is also right that Obama has faced some obstacles within his own party — and it is probably coming as a surprise to the president, too. But he is wrong to assume they are doing it for spite, mere power or necessarily for personal aggrandizement. In fact, Chait has a major misunderstanding of the very country that Democrats represent. You see, Chait thinks that just because Obama won a 7 percent majority of the vote the whole country is ready to become a radicalized, socialist, anti-religious, and virulently anti-capitalist nation. Chait makes the major mistake in thinking “the people” of the United States of America are just like him.
Were Shooters Unidentified in Press Because They Were Muslim?

Here is something that you NewsBusters fans can help me with because I am having difficulty deciding what is going on with this one. We have a shooting incident in Minnesota perpetrated by three Muslim Somali immigrants but for some reason almost every single media report about the incident omits the names of the shooters, names of obvious North Africa or ethnic origin. So, the question is, did the Old Media in Minnesota purposefully leave the names unreported so that they could cover up the fact that the criminals were Somali immigrants? And, if so, why would they do this?
We start with the Minneapolis Star Tribune that reports that “three suspects were in jail Sunday following a shooting in Lakeville that injured four other people.” Apparently one of those arrested took umbrage at being told to leave a party and began shooting up the place as he and his friends left. But, all we get from the StarTrib is “three suspects.” No names or descriptions.
Atlanta Homeless Effort Fails. Solution: Throw More Money at it!

Atlanta thought it had a great idea. Instead of its citizens being accosted by bums and panhandlers in the street, the idea was to set up parking meter-like machines for people’s donations instead of handing the money straight to the bums. Then, the money collected from Atlanta’s well-meaning citizens would be used to enlarge government programs for the homeless.
After six months the donation meters have only netted $500, a sum that won’t go too far especially in the over priced world of government programs. In fact, the machines themselves cost far more than that. So, the meters are pretty much a bust. In that case one might think that the Atlanta city council would quietly shelve the idea as one born of that good ol’ college try, but a failed one nonetheless.
The Train Wreck

A number of people recently have been commenting on how the economy seems to be showing signs of recovery, all without a single penny of the so called stimulus bill having been spent. The stock market has been moving up of late giving investors a sense of hope that the bottom has been reached signaling an end to their financial losses. Hope is good but false hope is dangerous as it causes people to lower their defenses against the oncoming train wreck. Counting on an economic recovery is occurring due to a bear market rally, is false hope. The psychology of the bear rally is based on false hope.
Have you noticed the price of gas lately? Its been creeping back up and now is up to $2/gallon. It’s not due to domestic demand but the world price of oil. Because of the misconduct of the RULING POR (Pelosi, Obama, Reid) Party causing over a trillion dollars to be printed, the dollar is devaluing and the price of oil is going up as a result. If the price of oil continues to rise we will soon reach the tipping point where the economy will stall again. That tipping point is somewhere around $2.50/gallon based on what happened in January 2007 when unemployment started it’s steady climb. The economy then took a nosedive as the price of gasoline hit $4/gallon. Of course President Obama continues to talk in non-sequiturs claiming in order for the economy to recover he must impose a carbon tax to create “green jobs”. He plainly admitted such a tax scheme would cause the price of energy (electricity) to “skyrocket”, his term not mine. While he was specifically speaking of coal in regards to electricity, such a tax would also hit petroleum products like gasoline almost as hard.

How do we Work With ‘Palestinians’ That Punish Little Girls for Playing Music?

We are sonorously told to respect the “Palestinians,” that their “government” is one we must work with to solve the ages old conflicts of the Middle East. We are also told by those advocating realpolitik between the west and the Muslim world that their system based on Islam is just as good as anyone else’s, just as we are so often assured that all governments deserve equal consideration merely because they exist.
But, when things like what happened to the members of a girl’s youth orchestra based in the Palestinian camp of Jenin occur, well it’s awfully hard to feel that the Palestinian government is “just like us.” In fact, it’s pretty hard to think that it is anything but inhuman.
‘Peace’ Activists Not Sure How to Protest Obama

Peace activists are liars. That is the lesson we learn from the Vallejo Times-Herald in the Napa area of California thanks to the hypocritical actions of “peace” activist Patricia Kneisler.
You see, Kneisler has decided to abandon her annual “peace” vigil in Benicia, California. Why would she do that? After all, we are still in Iraq. Not only that but we are about to ramp up actions in Afghanistan if the president can be believed. Why dump the “peace” vigil now since “peace” still hasn’t been achieved?
Let’s let our hippie friend tell us why:
Hillary’s Mexico Visit Blunders Ignored by Old Media

Thus far, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has made two diplomatic blunders during her visit to Mexico that the U.S. Old Media are shockingly uninterested in highlighting. One was a policy blunder and the other a cultural/religious one.
Clinton’s first mistake was in imagining she is still a Senator that can make pronouncements on pending laws and policy plans instead of a mere envoy of the president, a mouth piece that hasn’t the same freedom to invent policy prescriptions and laws that a Senator does. Last week, Clinton told Mexican officials that “we” — as in the U.S. government — are considering re-upping the so-called assault rifle ban because Mexico’s drug violence is “our” fault.

“Pure democracy is the most vile form of government…such democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention: have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property: and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.”
– James Madison, Father of the US Constitution
The word Democracy does not appear in the Declaration of Independence or the United States Constitution…and for good reason. The United States is not a Democracy. It is a Constitutional Republic and it is essential that the American people understand this reality. If we continue to allow the untruth that the United States of America is a Democracy to flourish we invite the demise of our government and our nation; we invite the cessation of the American Experiment and doom future generations to a fate unknown.

Secret List of Muslims Compiled for Obama Administration Jobs

A secret list of Muslims has been prepared for Obama from which he’ll chose applicants for government jobs? Seems so…
CHICAGO — In a bid to get more Muslim Americans working in the Obama administration, a book with resumes of 45 of the nation’s most qualified — Ivy League grads, Fortune 500 executives and public servants, all carefully vetted — has been submitted to the White House.
The effort, driven by community leaders and others, including U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., was bumped up two weeks because White House officials heard about the venture, said J. Saleh Williams, program coordinator for the Congressional Muslim Staffers Association, who sifted through more than 300 names.
“It was mostly under the radar,” Williams said. “We thought it would put (the president) in a precarious position. We didn’t know how closely he wanted to appear to be working with the Muslim American community.”
(As Reported by the Denver Post.)
So, um, where is the vaunted “transparency” that The One kept wailing about during the campaign? Why does it take a newspaper to reveal this secret list?
Florida Gov’t Cancels Tea Party Fearing ‘Too Many Attendees’

Remember this report from our nation’s history?
CNN (Continental News Network) Boston, 1773: The city of Boston canceled a proposed protest over tea taxes today, citing the fear that too many people dressed as Indians would be gathered near the wharves. Organizers expressed sadness over the cancellation, but meekly returned to their homes fearful of upsetting the officers of the Crown. Taxmen breathed a sigh of relief as the tar and feathers were put away not to be used this day.
You don’t remember that pre-revolutionary history? I should say you shouldn’t, because it didn’t happen. But flash forward a few hundred years and you’ll find it is happening today in Cape Coral, Florida where city officials canceled a tax day tea party gathering because they “feel too many people could show-up.”
Consequences: Wisconsin Loses Jobs/Development Over Card Check

Wisconsin’s Eau Claire County lost 800 full-time jobs and a $50 million investment that was to be rolled out over the next five years because of the Democrat’s Card Check bill. And it wasn’t just a single county in Wisconsin that lost this multi-million dollar development. It was the whole U.S.A. that lost this project.
Thank you Barack Obama. Some help with economic “stimulus” and jobs you are.
Hillary Clinton: Sorry Mexico, Your Violence is All Our Fault

Mexican government officials are in the pocket of Mexican drug lords. Members of the Mexican military lend their support to Mexican drug lords. Mexican police double deal by being footsoldiers for Mexican drug lords at the same time they work for the various states. It’s all a great, corrupt mess down there.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s message to Mexico? It’s America’s fault.
And as the violence in Mexico begins to leak across the border into our southwestern states, what is Barack Obama’s idea to help? He wants to disarm our own people by raising the specter of “assault rifles,” a term that has no real meaning, and by re-instituting the “assault weapons” ban in the U.S.

With the recent passage of the “TARP bonus” bill, it’s obvious that our politicians are finally serious about tackling the problem of greed. It’s about time, too. We’ve long had “hate crime” laws, so one had to wonder when the next deadly sin would make it on the legislative agenda.
This bill targets people at certain companies – most visibly the much-maligned AIG – taxing any bonus pay pushing one’s income over the $250,000 threshold to the tune of 90 percent. Yet the popular conception of the legislation sells our enlightened overlords short, as their vision entails far more than bringing a handful of rapacious Gordon Geckos to heel. Henry Blodget explains writing at Yahoo! Finance:

Um, Did Sen. Grassley Throw a Dig Over Sen. Conrad’s Wife?
March 28, 2009 | Filed Under Congress, Democrats/Leftists, GOP, Liberals, Republicans, Society/Culture, Warner Todd Huston | No Comments

Senator Chuck Grassley (R, IA) was making a point during the Senate Budget Committee as they discussed the markup for the 2010 budget. He was trying to get Senator Kent Conrad (D, ND) to remember when he, Grassley, was in the driver’s seat and had back burnered an issue so that Conrad might get a favored resolution adopted two years ago. Grassley was hoping that now that Conrad’s party was in the lead, Conrad might remember a past courtesy and return the favor to Grassley whose party is now in the minority.
After the gentle reminder Conrad realized he was being nudged into acting with civility — something Democrats hate to do — and was being maneuvered into giving the Republicans a small bit of courtesy. Upon realizing he’d been had, Conrad said “Oh, you are good.” to which Grassley gave the classic that’s-what-she-said, man-dig at Conrad’s wife when he replied with a “Your wife said the same thing.”
Ouch.

The Constitution Be Damned

Tocqueville forewarned us about the tyranny of majorities that by nature impose ill-considered policies trampling upon individual liberties, liberties which the Bill of Rights was enacted to protect.
The Constitution created a government that people expected to defend them against foreign aggression and to protect the natural law rights of individuals to life, political liberty, and free exercise of private property rights. Today, instead of protecting individual rights against mob will, we have a Federal government that follows the mob and presumes the power to force people to conform to the schemes of academic state-planners.

For The Sake Of Eternity Christians Need To Better Understand The Future

The church was instituted by God in part to stand as a defensive bulwark to protect against erroneous doctrine and spiritually damaging heresies from contaminating the minds of believers and thus to an extent soften the blow of a continually degrading culture. However, often those in positions of religious leadership are so hopelessly detached that when confronted with warnings as to the spiritual dangers threatening both the individual and society they offer little in the way of a viable response grounded in a Christian worldview and instead prattle on about matters few actually care about at best or at worst condition the average congregant to eventually acquiesce to the expanding technocollectivist agenda. This trend is evidenced in the inordinate emphasis upon COMMUNITY rather than Scripture as the authoritative source of values in an increasing number of ecclesiastical circles.
In my column “Just Because You Don’t Understand Doesn’t Mean Its Not Real: Most Epistemologically Unprepared For Bioenhancement Nightmares”, I went into lengthy detail how the Transhumanist movement presented not only a threat to traditional conceptions of liberty as it simultaneously veered off into either total anarchy or nearly absolute control but also threatened what it means to be a human being itself. As an important message I felt the broader church might be in need of hearing, I decided to post it at a website where pastors, ministers, and Christian researchers of various types could publicize their homiletic endeavors to share with their peers and other interested believers.

We NEED a Newspaper Bailout to SAVE This Professionalism

Put Subhead HERE
The L.A. Times has always considered itself the cream of the newspaper crop in the Western U.S., the height of the industry. It is supposed to represent the best in newspaper professionalism. Papers like the L.A. Times are also held up as an example of what we don’t want to lose when supporters talk of instituting newspaper industry bailouts in the halls of Congress. Well, our friends at lies.com aren’t fooled!
With all the grave warnings of that excellence of newspapers that might be lost echoing in your ears, I offer an amusing example of that “excellence” for you today. Take a closer look at the accompanying photos of one of the pages in Friday’s print edition of the L.A. Times. Notice that the L.A. Times rushed to press before they even tipped in the subheads and photo captions and left the dummy type in its place.
Hail the professionalism of the L.A. Times.
