GOP Candidate William J. Kelly Says Commission “Doesn’t Respect the People of Illinois”
This week, GOP candidate for comptroller William J. Kelly challenged the legal sufficiency of the Commission’s public hearing process concerning Thomson Prison in circuit court and is continuing to pursue legal remedies to have the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability meet its requirements to the people under Illinois law. Here is his statement:
“Everyday people deserve a chance to be heard – whether they are for or against the Thomson Prison plan. I am against it because I believe it is a serious homeland security risk to bring Al-Qaeda to Illinois. The Commission for Government Forecasting and Accountability are supposed to represent and protect the people of Illinois on this issue and they have not done so.”
“Wednesday at the James Thompson Center in Chicago, the Commission will hold a vote on this issue and again people will not be allowed to speak. This is our home, our safety and our future and I will be at the Thompson Center demanding that the people of Illinois be heard once and for all,” said Kelly.
