From Americans for Prosperity, Illinois…
Thank you to all our members who sent letters to the Senate Executive Committee requesting that they vote on the “Pay to Play” appointment of Careen Gordon.
In four short days, we generated over 5,000 letters to the Senate Executive Appointment Committee expressing outrage at what appeared to be the “Pay to Play’ style of politics that led to the appointment of Careen Gordon to the Prisoner Review Board.
Due to mounting pressure from AFP members such as yourself, the Senate Executive Appointments Committee finally scheduled hearings that were to begin on Thursday March 17th.
As a result, on March 16th Careen Gordon chose to step down from her taxpayer-funded position in order to avoid the scrutiny that would’ve been brought upon her during an open public hearing.
Our headquarters received calls from the Springfield insiders and members of the State Senate informing us that we had a direct impact on forcing the Committee to schedule the proposed hearings that led to the resignation of Careen Gordon.
I could not be more proud of our members and their immediate attention to this issue.
Well done to all!! Your voices were heard loud and clear! Thank you for all that you do on behalf of liberty and freedom. We ARE making a difference!
