Obama Donor, Now Medical Records Czar Gets Little Gov’t Job BIG Gov’t Contracts

Must be nice to be a member of the “in” crowd, the crowd of crony capitalists to whom President Obama has given so much of the taxpayer’s money. And not just money but positions of power in the government.

Take, for instance, Obama’s newest czar, Judith Faulkner, recently named Obama medical records czar. She was not only put in charge of deciding which company would be used for Obama’s official electronic medical records system, but she also just happens to have an electronic medical records company of her own. And, gosh, it seems her company is suddenly quite busy and just might be in line to become THE electronic medical records company. Imagine that.

Only a few weeks ago news of Faulkner’s elevation to Obama’s Health Information Technology Policy Committee. This committee is charged with deciding how $19 billion in Obama bucks is spent on healthcare IT systems.

Narcissist in Chief: Obama’s ‘Look At Me’ Photo

Back on Sept. 20, President Obama stood with the folks from the Open Government Partnership to get a group photo taken. But, even in a photo of over a dozen folks, as far as Obama was concerned it was all about Obama.

There he is, calling attention to himself like a ten-year-old on the carousel trying to get the attention of mommy and daddy.

Worse, he’s covering up one of the participant’s face! How gauche.

Even MSNBCs Rich Shulman couldn’t take the self-centered, arrogance of our president. Under the photo, Shulman wrote, “I don’t know much about diplomatic protocols, but I would guess that waving during the group photo is something to avoid.”

That’s our narcissist in chief!

Unless you’ve been living under a soundproofed rock for the past two and a half years you know that the approval rating for our nation’s politicians is pathetically low. President Obama’s approvals are hovering around 44 percent while Congress’ approval rating hardly shows-up on the radar screen at 13 percent, and rightfully so. Those elected to federal office (and for that matter, the many State houses) have ignored the basic responsibilities of their offices – to represent their constituencies – and have, instead, arrived inside the Washington DC beltway to execute their stations in the best interests of their political parties and associated special interest groups.

Incredibly, some in the political talking-head and spin doctor class try to explain away the dismal approval ratings as repercussions from the maladies of our time; they try to rationalize that the cause of public discontent, where their elected officials are concerned, is more about an unsophisticated and less realistic interpretation of all the bad news emanating from across the world. These contentions might very well be true if it weren’t for the truth of extremely elevated non-approval ratings received by the elected class. President Obama’s negatives are over 50 percent and Congress’ negative rating is at a stunning 83.5 percent. In fact, the only leader not to have a negative rating over 50 percent is House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), who stands at 41 percent.

Keep in mind that, traditionally, approval ratings can bounce up and down quite erratically, but once a voter has established a negative view of a candidate it is very hard to flip that view to the positive. It is for this reason that a unique opportunity presents itself; an opportunity that even the doomed politician can use to throw a lifeline to his or her legacy.

Illinois Jobs Need to be Job One

For nearly 100 years, Modern Drop Forge employees have been manufacturing metal forging tools in Blue Island. In August, the company announced it was moving to Indiana and taking 240 jobs with it. The reason: Illinois’ “poor business environment”–specifically, workers compensation laws and high taxes.

How many more companies and good jobs are we willing to let go before we get serious about workers compensation, regulatory, tort and tax reform?

In January, after Illinois’ governor and Democrats in the General Assembly passed the largest income tax hike and corporate tax hike in state history, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels actively began recruiting Illinois businesses. He isn’t alone. Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey came to Illinois and ran TV ads after the tax vote marketing his state to businesses.

Cliff Surges for IL Senate Comments on Illinois’ Business Climate

September 21, 2011 | Filed Under Elections, GOP, Illinois, Illinois State Government, Republicans, Senate, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

From the campaign of Cliff Surges for Illinois State Senate, 33rd District…

The Chicago Tribune recently reported that Illinois is ranked among the three worst states for business, according to a survey of U.S. corporate executives. Illinois’ business climate consists of many more problems than a 67% income tax increase. Career politicians statewide have failed to properly address worker’s compensation, spending reform, and have continued with government barriers to job creation.

“The last thing people in the 33rd Senate District need is another career politician in Springfield. Voters need a State Senator with experience and knowledge in creating jobs, paying our bills, and improving our economic climate,” says Clifford Surges.

Current leadership has come up short and has promoted a poor substitute for the pro-growth policies that remove barriers to job creation. People in the 33rd State Senate district, who live from Geneva and St. Charles up north to Crystal Lake and Huntley, demand better.

Intimidation: Obama’s Dept. of Labor To Supply Replacement Worker’s Names AND Addresses to Union Thugs

“Since 1975,” a study of union violence says, there has been “more than 9,000 reports of union violence.” With that in mind, wouldn’t it scare you if you were told that your name and address would be made public knowledge if you were hired as a temporary or replacement worker during a union strike? If you had any sense you sure would.

Well, now that is exactly what the Obama administration wants to do. Obama’s Department of Labor wants to make a new rule that businesses must disclose the names and addresses of individuals that are hired during strikes to replace unionized workers, whether permanently or temporarily.

With the long, long history of murder, property damage, beatings, and general harassment that unions have engaged in since unions came to this nation, the idea of having a worker’s name and address released to these union thugs so that unions can create hit lists of employees to attack is unconscionable.

Obama plans to put the property, family, and the very lives of thousands of workers in danger just so he can again give a big payoff to Big Labor.

Talk radio is gaga over Ron Suskind’s new book detailing the mess that is Team Obama. The book, “Confidence Men: Wall Street, Washington and the Education of a President,” was released on Tuesday and features quite a few shocking displays of insubordination, crestfallen disappointment, and complaints about Obama from former members of Obama’s administration. But since the book has been released many of these former staffers and officials quoted in the book are denying the quotes attributed to them.

However, the Washington Post has a story detailing some of these denials and it seems that the denials are complete lies. As these people rush to the nearest reporter to deny they ever disparaged The Obammessiah in interviews for the book, other evidence show that they did, indeed, say the very things they are denying they said…

The Security Sex

September 20, 2011 | Filed Under Selwyn Duke | Comments Off

-By Selwyn Duke

We have all heard about the sex gap in voting patterns. This is the phenomenon whereby, in every election, women are far more likely to support liberal candidates than men are. For instance, in 1996, Bill Clinton captured 54 percent of the women’s vote but only 43 percent of the men’s. And in subsequent elections, the male-female gap has been as follows: in 2000, Al Gore, 42-54; in 2004, John Kerry, 41-51; and in 2008, Barack Obama, 49-56. In fact, even in the watershed election of 2010, during which we heard about the rise of the conservative woman, the fairer sex favored Democrats by 1 point, 49 to 48. The Republican victories were attributable to a sex gap (I don’t use the word “gender”) that was as wide as ever, ranging from 4 to 19 points.

So, clearly, women tend to gravitate toward statist candidates. And there are many reasons for this. One is that, being the more emotion-driven sex, women are more susceptible to liberals’ emotional appeals. Another is that where men are big-picture-oriented, women are detail-oriented. This feminine quality is wonderful when handling young children, whose lives must be micro-managed; the problem is that it also leads to acceptance of a micro-managing government that, ultimately, will treat us all like children. And then you have not just a nanny state (a feminine descriptive, mind you), but what we are quickly descending into: The Harridan State.

Yet there is an even greater reason why women veer left, and it’s the one I’ll focus on today.

Texas Redistricting: Forget About ‘Justice,’ Obama’s DOJ is ALL About Politics

Obama’s Department Of Justice claims that Texas redistricting is somehow “unfair” because Democrats have lost power. Therefore the DOJ is going to take the state to court over its new map. Yet, in Illinois, the Democrats have decimated Republican districts and slighted several Hispanic districts, yet the DOJ has turned a blind eye to pleas for redress there. This all tends to prove that Obama’s DOJ is less about “fairness” and more about politics. Sadly, Obama is playing politics with justice.

Only days after his inauguration in 2009 President Barack Obama warned Republicans that he wasn’t much interested in what they had to say on policy. In a meeting with congressional leaders he told Republicans “elections have consequences” and “I won.” Obama apparently wanted to stress that those that win elections should set the agenda and run the table. To echo Rep. Joe Wilson, Obama lied.

Take Texas, for instance. Thanks to two years of one failed Democrat policy after another and after two years of a sustained assault on American values, an attack on our business community, capitalism, and an avalanche of regulations quashing any chance of an economic recovery, the political landscape of Teas turned a deep, deep red in the 2010 midterm elections.

There has NEVER been such a people as the Palestinians. And those that wanted their own nation have been little else but murderers, racists, and hatemongers since the 1920s and before!

This video does a great job explaining the REAL history of these murderous, monstrous, haters.

Worse, during WWII the Palestinians honed their hatred to a special edge by learning at the feet of the Nazis.

The basis for all this violence, hatred, murder, war, and destruction perpetrated by the so-called Palestinians? Islam, of course.

That Presidential Look: The Bad, the Beautiful and Voting-booth Realities

While there was more than one reason why John McCain was a long shot to win the 2008 general election, a big one was something almost no one talked seriously about: appearance.

That is to say, when was the last time an old-looking, white-haired, half-bald man won the presidency?

If you think this piece will be satire or fluff, think again. It rather will be very serious commentary about a very silly – but painfully real – phenomenon.

When people do discuss looks’ impact on presidential fortunes, they usually treat the matter as a joke; we may hear, for instance, how a candidate must have “great hair” to enjoy rarefied commander-in-chief air. But if professional pundits and politics wonks think it’s beneath them to wax anything but comedic on this issue, the joke is on them. After all, this is the age of American Idol.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06), issued the following statement in response to the President’s debt plan:

“It is disappointing that with our economy on the verge of a double-dip recession President Obama is proposing trillions in higher taxes. Small businesses are already begging for mercy from Washington’s high tax and regulatory environment. Higher taxes – and the uncertainty caused by the threat of them – is the last thing American small businesses and job creators need to endure. It’s unfortunate but this latest proposal is predictably sad and sadly predictable from an Administration that has over-taxed, over-regulated, and over-spent our way to nine-percent unemployment and $14 trillion in debt.”

Of those 6,705 precincts: 3,440 had no one running for Republican Precinct Committeeman in 2010. That’s a 51% statewide vacancy rate.

It also represents a major lost opportunity for thousands of Republicans and our entire Party. It’s unacceptable, and it’s a big reason why good Republican candidates are losing winnable races to the Democrats in Illinois.

President Obama just proved that his supposed “jobs speech” is nothing but the first part of Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign and no effort to work with anyone to solve the nation’s economic woes.

But Obama’s pretended focus on “jobs” has always been a head fake. First off he ran for president in 2008 as the jobs president claiming that he wanted to put American back to work. Repeatedly during his first two years he claimed he was all about jobs. Yet it took to year three for him to finally bother to get around to that all important “jobs speech.” Then he scheduled a joint session to Congress that he didn’t arrange properly with Congress and had to move it to the next day. He finally gave the speech but even after telling Congress to “pass this bill” about 50 times, he didn’t have any bill to give them. That, he said, would come in a week or so. Now we finally have some semblance of a bill — even though the Senate agrees the bill is not fully written — and the Senate now says it won’t take it up for a while…

Mike Quigley, the Democrat Congressman from the Chicago area’s 5th Congressional District thinks he needs to apologize for America. Why? Well, because we have been so darn evil towards Muslims and all, dontcha know? And why are we so mean to Muslims? It’s because Republicans want to cut the budget.

It looks like Quigley has taken a page out of President Obama’s world apology tour playbook by going back to his district to attend the American Islamic College Conference in Chicago where he felt compelled to apologize for America.

After a long winded wind up saying that the “war” we are experiencing between the diverging ideas about the economy is an “ideological war,” and it’s one that is causing us to somehow lash out against Muslims! Never mind that Muslims declared war on the U.S. long before the U.S. had any major economic troubles. He capped that surreal assessment with his grand apology…

Eleanor Mondale, the precocious daughter of Vie President Walter Mondale, passed away at her home in Minnesota. Mondale, aged 51, had been diagnosed with brain cancer in 2005 and finally succumbed to the illness.

Mondale made a name for herself in radio and TV after her father’s failed 1984 run for the White House against Ronald Reagan. But she was also the talk of the town, if you will before she launched her entertainment career.

She was a known “party girl” and again became notorious after her fling with rocker Warren Zevon was revealed in a book by Zevon’s widow published in 2007.

Mondale had several parts in TV shows, became an entertainment reporter, and went on to become a successful radio personality in Minnesota. Her radio career touched Chicago briefly in 1986 when she did a stint on WGN-720 (AM)

She was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2005 but had thought that the cancer had gone a year later. But by 2008 the cancer that eventually took her life had returned.

Michael Barone, one of America’s premier political analysts, unleashed a corker this week looking over how sold out to unions our president as been. It is something that union watchers such as myself have been saying since day one.

It’s bad enough that Obama has been so bought and paid for by union bosses, but his hypocritical calls for “civility’ while he encourages unions, some of the most uncivil voices in politics, to continue their bellowing their rage and hatred is hypocrisy unmatched in any White House.

Barome says that Obama acts less like a president of the United States and more like a “shop steward in chief” as he panders to unions at every opportunity. He doesn’t just pander, either.

President Obama has talked a good education reform game, but when push comes to threats, he is above all a good union man.

On August 25th, AFL-CIO boss Richard Trumka uttered a few words that seemed to resonate with President Obama. He said, “The AFL-CIO has not yet decided if it will participate in next year’s Democratic National Convention, as labor union members ponder whether President Obama has earned their support.…” He said the major economic speech the president has planned for early next month will tell union members what they need to know about whether he will be worth supporting.”

Trumka has a history of following through on his threats. As president of the United Mine Workers in the spring of 1993, he wanted to ensure that no one would be able to find employment as a miner without paying union dues to the UMW. Accordingly, he proceeded to order more than 17,000 mine workers to walk off their jobs, and told the striking miners to “kick the sh– out of every last one” of their fellow employees and mine operators who resisted union demands. UMW thugs dutifully responded by vandalizing homes, firing gunshots into management’s offices, and cutting off the power supply to another mine, temporarily trapping 93 miners underground.

Nearly seven years has passed since my book entitled “An American Prophet and His Message” was published and only recently has it occurred to me that of the more than five hundred articles I have written since then, not one describes the first prophetic vision of worldwide events that I ever received. This is an excerpt from my book un-edited in its entirety from a chapter entitled “How This Book Was Written.” My writing style has changed greatly but the vision has not.

Keep in mind that when I received this vision I had not so much as heard that there was a “second coming” of the Lord Jesus Christ. I had never read anything about it in or out of the Bible including the biblical pictures of a blood red moon and the blocking of the sun.

“Today in a show of their craft, movie makers might start their stories at the end and then proceed to the beginning. In some movies they even show parallel themes based on what would happen to an individual if they had made different choices. But this book is not written to entertain or mesmerize the reader with its mixed time line or plot. My clearest intention is to get the heart of the message out first and foremost. Many people read only the first part of a book or chapter and make summaries from that alone. Thus, I wouldn’t make the reader wait until later to get to the meat.

Poverty is on the rise in Illinois. In 2010, almost 2 million Illinoisans lived in poverty – the highest number since 1992. What have politicians proposed to reduce poverty and put Illinois back to work? Unfortunately, only increased spending and higher taxes.

You and your family are affected everyday by failed,
government-centric policies handed down by Washington to Springfield.

But after the pain of the recession and the absence of a real recovery, we all know there’s no way more government spending will turn the economy around. In fact, higher taxes are only going to hurt struggling families.

If you’re tired of footing the bill for politicians’ reckless ways, check out my latest blog about Obama’s most recent effort to employ the same tax, spend and borrow policies that have sunk the state’s economy for years.

Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL-14) today announced his support for a bipartisan resolution which commemorates the men and women who were taken as U.S. POWs in the Pacific during World War II.

“Today, September 16, is National POW/MIA Recognition Day, on which our nation honors the commitments and sacrifices made by our American prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action,” said Hultgren. “It is our moral obligation to honor the men and women who suffered grave injustices during World War II and with fewer than 500 surviving World War II POWs alive today, this resolution is a small, but significant, gesture to show these brave men and women that Congress has not forgotten about their experience and sacrifice.”

H.Res. 333 has been referred to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and currently has 28 cosponsors.

The Town Government With More Cars Than Employees

-By Warner Todd Huston

There is a town in Tennessee whose government owns more cars than they even have employees to drive them. This is the sort of excess that every anti-big government activist points to in order to show the bacchanalia of spending to which governments in our fair country are prone.

The Times Free Press of Chattanooga, Tennessee reports that the city of East Ridge made a startling discovery. Town fathers realized the town government owns 149 vehicles. Turns out they only 119 employees. They do indeed have more cars than employees.

Two months ago City Councilman Jim Bethune noted that the city seemed to have an awful lot of cars sitting around that are never used. So, they decided to sell a few to help make up for budget shortfalls and to get rid of the needless vehicles.

City officials made the surprising discover when they finally rounded up all the city’s vehicles. Then they got another surprise. The town had been so slipshod in records keeping that they couldn’t even locate the titles for 11 of those cars. The city had to pay the state $121 to file for each missing title.

In a way, commercials can tell you more about how we’ve changed than history books. The other day I came across the above 1960s TV commercial on YouTube; it’s for a toy set called the “Gung Ho Commando Outfit” by Marx. And it’s a perfect snapshot of the America that, sadly, no longer exists.

Despite this fact, watching it is hilarious. It is unabashedly politically incorrect, featuring a group of young boys running around playing war games, all decked out in the most authentic military gear a 10-year-old could imagine. It’s enough to make any suburban soccer mom’s head explode.
