An Inventive Internet Scam Email ‘From’ Fed Head Janet Yellen

-By Warner Todd Huston

I received this absurd email in my inbox today that I thought maybe some of you may find amusing. It is purportedly sent by the new head of the Fed, Janet Yellen, of all people.

It is a scam email, a phishing expedition meant to get those slow of mind to pass on their personal information to a thief. But it is a rather inventive one, I thought.

Naturally the syntax and wording is just screwy enough to make it obvious to an educated person that it was written by a foreigner not conversant in English. But I thought the premise of the lie was pretty funny and just might be slick enough to get morons who were too busy mouth breathing in high school to pay attention to their studies to fall for it.

So, here is the letter…

Disqus: Feminizing America One Lost Down Vote at a Time

-By Warner Todd Huston

This month the blog commenting system Disqus changed its system with neither a warning nor an explanation, eliminating the ability of page visitors to see the tallied number of down votes to any of the comments. Apparently the blog service felt that Americans were getting their feelings hurt so badly by a down vote that it had to eliminate the capability. And thus the feminization of America continues.

Previously, the Disqus commenting system featured a way for other page visitors who had opened an account with Disqus to either up vote or down vote comments by clicking on a green arrow facing upward or a red arrow facing down. As each visitor clicked on the arrows a tally of how many votes the comment received was displayed.

But now, when someone tries to click on the down vote arrow it neither displays as red for other commenters to see, nor is there any longer a tallied number. The up votes, however, still show a green number tallying upward as each up arrow is clicked.

So, now no one knows how many down votes a comment is getting.

The Democrats and Senator Reid area Koch Whores

The Democrats and Senator Reid area Koch Whores

-By Warner Todd Huston

Senator Harry Reid is indulging an absurd habit these days. He’s become a Koch head, a Koch addict, a Koch whore. He just can’t get enough of libertarian campaign donors Charles and David Koch and Reid’s lost his tiny little mind over them blaming them for everything that he thinks is wrong with the country. Naturally, Reid is a liar.

Charles and David Koch of Koch Industries have donated hundreds of millions to center right candidates and causes over the last 30 years, something, Reid says, means they are “buying” politics in the country.

Before we even talk further about the Koch brothers, we should note that left-winger George Soros has spent far, far more of his personal fortune to push American politics leftward than the Kochs have spent pushing it rightward. And where is Reid to complain that extremist, left-wing billionaire Tom Steyer is spending hundreds of millions of his money to push the myth of global warming down our throats? Where is Reid to complain of the billions that MoveOn.org has s\pent on politics? Worse, where is Reid to whine that unions are buying politics–and unions have spent trillions more over the last 50 years than either Soros OR the Kochs. Of course, the lying hypocrite Senator from Nevada doesn’t care about Soros, the unions, or your Steyers because they all spend their billions on Democrats and their Euroesque causes.

Stupid Democrat Thinks 225-Year-Old Constitution is 400 Years Old

Stupid Democrat Thinks 225-Year-Old Constitution is 400 Years Old

-By Warner Todd Huston

One of the dumbest democrats in Congress is Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee. She has said many, many stupid things and this week she unleashed another one saying that the U.S., Constitution is 400 years old. This occurred yesterday and I was going to skip the story, but I just can’t let it pass un-mentioned.

This dolt of a human being made the comment on the floor of the House during the debate on the lawless president that sits in the White House. The GOP has floated a law that would hold this criminal president to the law. Plainly enough, the law is titled the Enforce The Law Act and was introduced by Rep. Trey Gowdy (R, SC).

Naturally, Obama is threatening to veto a law that tells him to follow the law. Think about that for a second. Obama wants to be given carte blanche to break the law and is upset anyone would expect him to be a law-abiding chief executive.

This president plans to be a criminal and wants Congress to give him blanket dispensation to be one.

Obama Tells Us to Cancel Cell Phone and Cable to Pay for Obamacare

Obama Tells Us to Cancel Cell Phone and Cable to Pay for Obamacare

-By Warner Todd Huston

So, if you make less that $40,000 a year and find the high cost of Obamacare to be overwhelming, President Obama has a message for you: cancel your stupid cable TV and you dang iPhone service you ingrates. THEN you will be able to afford his mandated-by-law take over of our national healthcare system.

This is what Obama told a Latino audience at a townhall held on March 6 by several Spanish language media networks.

Obama was presented with a question about a family that makes $36,000 a year and found that the cheapest Obamacare plan they could find would cost them $315 a month. This, the family felt, was too expensive and something they could not afford.

The President’s response was chilling. Obama said, “if you looked at their cable bill, their telephone, their cell phone bill… it may turn out that, it’s just they haven’t prioritized health care.”

Democrats Fundraising With Terrorists

Democrats Fundraising With Terrorists

-By Warner Todd Huston

Once again we see that the Democrat Party is thoroughly un-American and pro-terror with a Democrat Party fundraiser in Virginia with two members of the terror group the Muslim Brotherhood.

As reported on March 10 by the Washington Free Beacon, Representative Gerry Connolly (D, VA) is happy as a clam having terror supporters and Muslim Brotherhood activists Akram Elzend and Sameh Elhennawy at a fundraiser later this month. The pair will co-host the fundraiser at the home of Mohamed Mohamed in Fairfax.

The Muslim Brotherhood has been labeled a terrorist group by Egypt’s new authorities after the many Egyptians killed by supporters of the group in recent unrest there.

Yet, here is Rep. Connolly teaming up with these terror supporters for a fundraiser?

California Town’s Use of Eminent Domain on Water Company All Wet

California Town’s Use of Eminent Domain on Water Company All Wet

-By Warner Todd Huston

A city government in California is thinking of illicitly using eminent domain to essentially steal a water company from its owners because residents are unhappy with their water bills. If they are unhappy now, it will get far worse once the government owns the water service. Once again California serves as an example of what not to do.

The city fathers of Claremont, California are attempting a move that should frighten every American, a move that would seem to prove that government thinks it has no limits on its power. With the claimed goal of keeping water rates low, the city is considering using eminent domain laws to force a local water company into allowing the city to take over its facilities and declare its resources government property.

Jon Coupal of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association explained the rules of eminent domain in a recent op ed.

First, under the U.S. Constitution, if government takes private property, it must pay just compensation. Moreover, under California law, when government attempts to seize a private utility, there is the additional requirement of a showing of need a seemingly insurmountable hurdle for the city of Claremont to justify replacing the current provider & Government cannot simply say they want to go into the water business to be able to use eminent domain.

Being unhappy about a water bill does not qualify for the city to invoke eminent domain.

Some Photos From CPAC 2014

-By Warner Todd Huston

The reason the blog has been so sparsely populated this last week is because I have been in Washington DC since March 2 taking meetings and then attending the 2014 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

Well, I say “attending” but I mean skipping much of it n favor of going to panels held outside the event, meetings in small rooms held by individuals and groups not participating at CPAC.

Oh, and I attended quite a few parties, too, of course.

There was Representative Louie Gohmert’s Party where he celebrated the launch of his new Political Action Committee, ?GOH Conservative PAC There I met Rush Limbaugh’s Bo Snerdley–yes he really exists.

Meet James Golden, aka Bo Snerdley

I also ran into Maryland Congressional candidate Dan Bongino once again. THIS is a great candidate, folks.

It’s GOOD That Massachusetts Court Didn’t Ban Perverted ‘Upskirt’ Photos

-By Warner Todd Huston

So, no doubt you are reading that headline and expecting me to be coming out in favor of perverted, privacy invading photos taken up a woman’s skirt with neither her knowledge nor approval. Naturally I am not, but I am still glad that the Massachusetts Supreme Court did not ban such illicit photography. In fact, the court did exactly what it should have.

Earlier this week the Massachusetts Supreme Court ruled that these disgusting upskirt shots are not illegal.

Last year a man in Boston was secretly taking video and still shots underneath women’s skirts on the city’s public buses and trains. He was using these photos for a sexual purpose, of course, posting them online for other perverts to see.

University Professor Urges Unions to Use Violence Against Mom of Disabled Teen

-By Warner Todd Huston

Several years ago a mother who cares for a disabled teen was shocked to discover that the Gov. of Illinois was going to force her into a union because she gets state aid to care for her son. She protested this forced unionization and the forced paying of dues that goes with it. Now a union professor is saying that unions should use violence against this woman to silence her.

Dr. Alan Singer, a Professor of Secondary Education at Hofstra University, urged unions to take “aggressive, illegal actions” saying it was “the only way” to stop people like Pam Harris from hurting the union cause of extorting business and government.

Mrs. Harris is the woman behind the Illinois lawsuit fighting state imposed unionism (Harris v. Quinn) that has made it to the U.S. Supreme Court of the United States.

Union Thug Posts Names of Non-Union Workers at Workplace, Denies Intimidation

-By Warner Todd Huston

A union thug in Michigan was wide-eyed with faux shock when he was told that publicly posting the names of workers who opted out of the union was viewed as an intimidation tactic.

Union thug Lawrence Roehrig, international vice president of AFSCME and secretary treasurer of Michigan AFSCME Council 25 (that is a government worker’s union, folks) defended the practice of outing the workers who opted out of the union under Michigan’s new right to work rules saying that it was just a way to educate workers.

In the same way a business owner is paying for “protection” when a mobster demands payment to make sure nothing “happens” to them, thug Roehrig said, “You’re not harassing them. It gives you an indication of who’s paying and who isn’t.”

Do Sarah Palin, LiveLeak, & Wash. Times Know Some Prepper Guy is Misusing Their Names?

-By Warner Todd Huston

It looks like the Washington Times and Sarah Palin have a case against the prepper company “Patriot Survival Plan” for misusing their names by making it seem as if they are supporting them–or at least using them to get people to click through to their advertisement site.

So, on my Facebook page I have been getting a sidebar ad with a (fake) photo of Sarah Palin and a dead “link” to the Washington Times newspaper (see screen shot below). But when you click on the thing it goes to some goofball prepper site trying to sell you some wacky video. It has nothing to do with either the Times or Sarah Palin. So, it makes one wonder if the paper and Palin are aware this prepper dude is misrepresenting himself using their images and faux links?

The prepper site, Patriot Survival Plan, is selling some sort of fear that the world is going to collapse because it is filled with big banks, civil unrest, Bilderbergers, Trilatteral Commissions, end of times, and aliens from outer space or some such stuff. I won’t link to them here as I won’t give them the free link. Besides, I’m sure it is jammed with malaware, too.

But what they are doing with their Facebook ad is very unethical. Firstly is the badly photoshopped photo of Sarah Palin you may have seen before. It is that one with “Sarah” in a tight-fitting, pink shirt opened wide enough to see her cleavage, an ampleness which she does not in reality possess.

Then there is the “link” typed into the ad that reads “washingtontimes.com.”

Next to that is the message, “This Video Went Viral in Mins. CLICK HERE to Watch.”

Screenshot of the original Facebook ad.

The viewer is fooled into thinking that clicking on this ad will take one to a video, one perhaps sponsored by the Washington Times and one talking about Sarah Palin or featuring her. But it is none of these.

The Left Corrupts and Steals a Culture, It Doesn’t Convince

-By Warner Todd Huston

I was recently reading an article about the folk music scene as it developed in the 30s and 40s and it hit me that these people were yet another example of how leftists take a culture and corrupt it to push their political schemes instead of merely presenting their philosophies and legitimately winning converts.

The article on the folk music scene noted that the nationalized folk scene started in the early 30s with people like Alan Lomax, Woody Guthrie, and later Pete Seger and ultimately Bob Dylan–the latter of whom turned his back on the genera after undermining its legitimacy with his protest against it.

Folk music, as the nation came to know it, was not an organic creation, but essentially a leftist propaganda program built on the music of the common folks of the Appalachians, a generation before. But instead of crying about politics, the backwoodsie originators of the sound were singing about life, love, and family, they weren’t singing about the workers, capitalism, or the proletariat–subjects that most people equate “folk music” with today.

Principled Conservative vs Platform Republican? What’s the Difference?
-By Warner Todd Huston

In a recent op ed at the Illinois Review Terri Koyne, the Republican Chairman for Macoupin County, tried to explain the difference between a conservative and a “platform Republican.” I sort of understood her point but found the piece to be a bit muddled not to mention historically limited.

Like many of the center right side of the political aisle, Koyne is struggling with reconciling a vote for today’s Republican Party and sticking with true conservative principles. The problem is, voting Republican is not always voting for conservative ideas.

“When someone used to say they were a conservative,” Koyne said “it meant the whole package–socially and fiscally.”

I understand what she is trying to get at, but this isn’t exactly true. After all in the 30s, 40s, and 50s a “conservative” had precisely nothing at all to do with “social issues.”
