CNN’s New ‘Crossfire’ To Star Newt Gingrich & Stephanie Cutter?

Early in April, CNN reported that it was thinking of resurrecting Crossfire, the left-right political debate show it canceled in 2005. Now, as the network tries to regain its faded status as a cable leader, the network is reportedly wooing Democrat strategist Stephanie Cutter and longtime conservative bon vivant Newt Gingrich to helm a re-launch of the show.

Crossfire debuted on CNN in 1982 and was originally hosted by Tom Braden and Pat Buchanan the duo who first invented the premise as a talk radio show. As the years passed a series of hosts came and went until the series ended in failing ratings amid criticism of its often times shrill rhetoric.

Sources now tell Politico that Cutter and Gingrich are both in negotiations to host the re-launch. Neither personality returned calls to confirm their status.

Gingrich, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and past candidate for the 2012 GOP nomination for President, is well known. Stephanie Cutter, however, is notorious for her work as Obama’s former deputy campaign manager.

Dear TV, I Don’t Care About Your ‘Reality’

April 21, 2013 | Filed Under Cable, Entertainment, TV, Warner Todd Huston | No Comments

I guess I am increasingly in the minority these days, but television entertainment has taken a turn for the worse. Don’t get me wrong, there are some fantastic shows, many of which are written on a higher level than TV has enjoyed since the days of Playhouse 90 and other serious early drama offerings. But on the other hand TV has made Newton Minnow all too prescient.

My point is, of course, that there is nothing worse than the so-called “reality TV” show. These things are indicative of almost all that is bad in American society. Sloth, arrogance, ignorance–willful ignorance, even–outright stupidity, lack of restraint, lack of decorum, lack of civility, hate… did I mention gutter-level stupidity… in fact, aside from murder, there seemingly isn’t anything bad about America these TV series don’t showcase for viewers.

So, for my rant today, let me just say…

Dear TV,

I hate your search-for-love series and hope everyone in them dies alone, driven mad by the emptiness in their lives.

I hope your fat children die of heart disease before they are 20.

I hope your hip hop-loving Bee-atches are killed by the one-night-stands they indulge on a nightly basis.

CNN Looking to Re-Launch ‘Crossfire’

April 11, 2013 | Filed Under Cable, CNN, Journalism, Media, Media Bias, TV, Warner Todd Huston | No Comments

-By Warner Todd Huston

In 1982, CNN debuted a current affairs debate show titled Crossfire. The show starred Tom Braden from the left and Pat Buchanan from the right in a raucous debate on the issues of the day. The show continued until 2005 when it was canceled. But now, CNN is hinting that it is considering a re-launch of the show.

Alex Weprin reported that CNN has not made any firm announcements, but that the cable news network is considering the idea. CNN is in the midst of a wide-ranging re-working of its programming as newly minted President Jeff Zuckerman tries to reverse years of failing ratings. Dominic Patten, however, claims his source says that CNN will re-launch the show in June, though he had no other information on hosts, times, or format.

The series originated from a Braden/Buchanan radio show which began in 1978 and over its twenty-three-year history, Crossfire had over a dozen co-hosts. The show was often criticized for its hard-charging style.

In fact, Crossfire ended only months after Comedy Central comedian Jon Stewart criticized the show for “hurting America” with its “miserable” example of public discourse.

Even though then, as now, Stewart indulged in the same “partisan hackery,” he exempted himself from any blame for “hurting America” claiming he’s “just a comedian.”

Nonetheless, Crossfire was canceled in 2005 after final conservative co-host Tucker Carlson left the network for a stint at MSNBC.

Even Piers Morgan Criticizes Obama Over Lavish Vacation Spending

On Wednesday, April 3, President Obama announced he would be returning 5% of his paycheck to the federal treasury in a show of shared sacrifice with federal workers facing furloughs because of the sequester. The news came as he once again flew about the country pushing his anti-Second Amendment policies and only days after another lavish vacation indulged by the first family was in the news.

Morgan lambasted Obama’s attempt to spread the pain of austerity to his own household calling it a “pointless exercise” and despaired that the President wasn’t doing something more substantive.

Morgan railed saying, “if he gave up the vacations, which are costing the taxpayer hundreds of thousands of dollars, it might have more impact than five percent of $400,000.”

But even here Morgan soft-pedaled the money the American people have spent on Obama’s many vacations.

MSNBC’s ‘The Cycle’ Announces Ari Melber as New Co-Host

MSNBC has been playing musical chairs with its on-air hosts and one move left talk show The Cycle without a steady co-host. Now that Salon senior political writer Steve Kornacki has been pegged to helm a new weekend morning show, MSNBC has announced that The Nation correspondent Ari Melber will take up Kornacki’s The Cycle co-hosting duties.

In an email exchange with The Hollywood Reporter, Melber praised his predecessor. “Steve is irreplaceable; he was erudite, unique and downright lovable, and it’s clear the MSNBC audience is excited to see him develop as a weekend host,” Melber said.

Melber has been a long-time guest appearing all across MSNBC programming and will also be writing a blog on politics, law and constitutional rights for MSNBC.com. He has also been a frequent guest host.

Marking its first high profile hire, Al Jazeera has announced that it has hired CNN’s chief business correspondent, Ali Velshi, for its new Al Jazeera America cable network.

Al Jazeera America is preparing for a summer launch after having bought Al Gore’s Current TV network last December.

CNN President Jeff Zucker made the announcement in an April 3 staff meeting reporting that Velshi’s last day is April 5. Zucker assured staffers that the parting was amicable and that CNN was sorry to see him go.

“It’s been an amazing almost 12 years at CNN. Love it more today than I ever have, and CNN is going to be great under Jeff,” Velshi said. “I basically grew up here, so it’s sad to leave, but I’ve got a great opportunity to stretch some new muscles and grow something, and it appeals to my entrepreneurial side.”

That new opportunity turns out to be Al Jazeera. Upon Al Jazeera America’s launch this summer, Velshi will host an as yet un-named, “magazine-style,” half-hour weekend business program that is later planned to switch to weekdays.

CNN recently canceled Soledad O’Brien’s short-lived morning show, Starting Point, but the anchor is now saying she’s not at all unhappy about it.

“I think it has worked out best for everyone,” O’Brien told reporters.

The anchor reports that she realized she had creative differences with CNN’s new chief, Jeff Zucker, and complained that her show never got “a lot of support” from CNN executives during its one-year run.

This is a far different world than that when Starting Point debuted. Then Executive Vice President and Managing Editor of CNN Mark Whitaker said in a press release that the launch of O’Brien’s show was “an exciting time to be relaunching our morning show.”

Could CNBC Be Depriving Viewers of Vital Information?

There was once a day when particular media outlets were so dominant that they could essentially make the rules on who they permitted to appear with them whether in print, on the radio, or on TV. Those days are long gone, of course. So, why does CNBC still think it has the power to demand that guests appear solely on its network? And, in so doing is CNBC depriving its viewers of the vital financial information that they need to plan their business days?

CNBC is the most watched financial-centered cable news network, certainly. Though its younger competitor, Fox Business Network, has been making amazing inroads into CNBCs viewer base, the older network is still on top of the heap… for now.

But will that hold if CNBC’s booking practices stay as they are now? One might wonder.

MSNBC: Why Not Let Sonia Sotomayor Become The Next Pope?

On a February 17 broadcast of MSNBC Live, panelist Chris Smith thought it would be a great idea to have U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor replace retiring Pope Benedict as head of the Catholic Church.

Smith, a contributing editor of New York magazine, thought Sotomayor would offer a “trifecta” of liberal attributes.

“Here’s a trifecta: Latin, female, American. It would do a lot of good. I mean it’s ridiculous, we’re talking about a religion here where women can’t even become priests… but it would speak to some of the issues about how the Church needs to open itself up,” Smith said.

Smith also offered another reason that Sotomayor would be a great Pope. It is because she is a Puerto Rican who lived in the Bronx and is “someone who lived in the real world.” Smith felt this “real world” life is something that “would be good for whoever is Pope.”

Smith was the only one that offered a “fantasy pick” for the new Pope. The other panelists picked current cardinals.

MSNBC’s Horrid ‘Race Joke’ Segment Mostly Anti-White/Anti-Conservative Jokes

-By Warner Todd Huston

MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry must have thought she was getting “edgy” in a recent segment on her show when she turned to the topic of “race jokes.” But instead of Maury Povich or Jerry Springer she ended up with sanitized PCism and another prosaic, partisan attack on whites and conservatives–the latter the only subject MSNBC ever seems to discuss.

To open the February 18 segment, Harris-Perry suggested that a good way to talk about race is to do so with humor. “Maybe race jokes are the place where we can actually talk about race,” she said.

One wishes that Harris-Perry had taken just a minute to define what she meant by “race jokes,” though. After all, there is humor based on damaging stereotypes and humor based on amusing, even affecting ethnic eccentricities and the two are not the same. In fact, when Harris-Perry asked the panel to throw out their best “race jokes,” her offering was a classic Jewish joke, a joke that wasn’t so much “race humor” as warm, cultural humor.

MSNBC: NRA Chief Wayne LaPierre is ‘Afraid of Dark People’

Once again MSNBC has accused the National Rifle Association of being racists. Now host Alex Wagner claimed that NRA chief Wayne LaPierre employed coded racism in a recent op ed he wrote.

The day after the President’s State of the Union speech, LaPierre posted an op ed detailing the NRA’s response to Obama’s speech. In the op ed, LaPierre said that gun ownership was not just “paranoia.”

Hurricanes. Tornadoes. Riots. Terrorists. Gangs. Lone criminals. These are perils we are sure to face–not just maybe. It’s not paranoia to buy a gun. It’s survival. It’s responsible behavior, and it’s time we encourage law-abiding Americans to do just that.

This paragraph is what set Wagner off. “There’s also a lot of racial–racism imbedded in that full statement. He goes on to impugn Latin America as these kind of dark nights with dark people in Brooklyn,” she said.

Bill Maher: Endorsing the Confederate States Constitution

Left-wing comic Bill Maher has a new idea, something he feels will fix the mess the United States is in. Dump the possible two-term Presidency and replace it with a single, six-year term… just like the President of the Confederate States of America.

Maher thought avoiding the usual mess of scandal and failure so often seen during that second term curse could be eliminated with but one, longer term.

“Why not give presidents one six-year term where they don’t have to worry about re-election or raising money or anything but trying to pass the test of history? Especially since they really only have six years anyway, and then the next election starts,” Maher said on his cable TV show.

So, where have we heard this idea before?

To quote from the Constitution of the Confederate States of America:

Article II., Section I.

The executive power shall be vested in a President of the Confederate States of America. He and the Vice President shall hold their offices for the term of six years; but the President shall not be re-eligible.

Well, then. Looks like Bill Maher is signing up for the “Lost Cause,” eh?

Al Jazeera Sends Lobbyists to Capitol Hill

After buying Current TV, Al Gore’s struggling cable TV network, Al Jazeera has now hired a lobbying firm to push its interests in Washington D.C.

The Muslim-owned TV network hired the firm of DLA Piper to ply the halls of Congress pushing its issues on our elected officials.

The official filing by DLA Piper says that the firm will be providing “informational communications regarding client’s cable television channel.”

One of the firm’s lobbyists is Mark Paoletta, a former chief counsel for oversight and investigations for the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

DLA Piper is an international firm with offices in 30 countries in the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Current TV was purchased in December by Al Jazeera America Holdings, a U.S. subsidiary of the Qatar-based TV network.

Morris spent many of his last appearances on Fox News predicting a big victory for Mitt Romney in the late presidential election. He has not appeared on the cable network since November 12.

As we know, Morris missed that prediction by quite a lot. The former Clinton operative later apologized for his misstep, but perhaps his prediction that Romney would win big was the last missed predication Fox executives could take.

Obama Operatives Training Media How to Sell Obamacare

The Old Media is getting a little help from team Obama on how to report about Obamacare the “correct” way. To achieve that goal, Obama operatives are setting up propaganda symposiums for journalists and giving large cash donations to journalism associations to help spread Obama’s word.

This Obamacare propaganda campaign seriously blurs the line between government and “journalism” and seems to be a blatant attempt by team Obama to write the media’s Obamacare stories for them.

Rusty Weiss recently discussed a series of large donations made to the Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW) the latest of which was donated expressly for the purpose of relaying the left-wing agenda on Obamacare.

The donation, a $15,000 grant, was made by the Commonwealth Fund, a group now headed by former Obama operative David Blumenthal who served as the national coordinator for Obama’s Health Information Technology effort.

Bay Buchanan Quits TV Punditry for Real Estate Sales After Romney’s ‘Brutal’ Defeat

Romney’s loss “was brutal,” Buchanan said. “I think it’s the toughest because we really expected to win it.”

Buchanan reported that two days after the election she began taking real estate classes, quickly earned her Virginia license, and soon joined the real estate firm of McEnearney Associates Inc. in McLean, Va. She also hopes to earn licenses in several nearby states

Gross: Oprah’s New Wrinkle Cream Fore Skin

Oprah Winfrey apparently has a wonderful beauty secret but at least one group wants to know why she is endorsing an anti-wrinkle cream that is made of–ick– human foreskins.

The $150-per-ounce miracle cream, made by SkinMedica, is said by some to be made of the delicate, left-over bits of baby boys who underwent a circumcision.

Glen Callender is the founder of the Canadian Foreskin Awareness Project and to raise awareness of the issue, he and his group protested outside an appearance by the former daytime TV giant at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on December 24 where fans paid $350 a ticket to see the Queen of Talk.

Callender says that Oprah is a bit hypocritical to crusade against ritual female circumcision as practiced in many Muslim countries yet ignore male circumcision in her own backyard.

“Imagine how Oprah would respond if a skin cream for men went on the market that was made from parts of the genitalia of little girls,” Callender said to a Vancouver-based newspaper. “That would be an outrage and rightly so.”

Kirsten Powers: Dems Less Tolerant of Dissent, They’re Used to Controlling the Media

January 26, 2013 | Filed Under Cable, Democrats/Leftists, Ethics, Fox News, Journalism, Liberals, Media, Media Bias, Progressives, TV, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

-By Warner Todd Huston

On the January 23 broadcast of Fox News’ “Bill O’Reilly Show,” liberal commentator Kirsten Powers found herself agreeing with the concept that liberals are less tolerant of opposing opinions. Powers went further, though, positing that this intolerance might stem from the fact that liberals are too used to controlling the media and not being confronted by opposition.

Powers went on to say that it was “very disconcerting and unsettling” to liberals when they are confronted with ideas they don’t agree with.

During his “personal story” segment, O’Reilly brought up a study from George Washington University that found that liberals that use the Internet are less tolerant of opposing ideas than conservative Internet users. Interestingly, Powers, of the left-leaning Daily Beast website, tended to agree with those findings.

You know, I have to say this actually jibes with sort of real life experience that I have found, especially as I came into more contact with conservatives as I got older because I used to really live very much in a Democratic bubble when I worked in politics. I did find that they were much more open to sort of hearing other viewpoints, where I think liberals because they are so used to controlling all the media pretty much, academia, that for them when they hear things that don’t jibe with what they want to hear, it’s very disconcerting and unsettling to them. And it doesn’t surprise me that they’re really less interested, whereas conservatives are kind of used to it. They’ve lived in a world where pretty much, you know, the whole media has been sort of liberal.

Mimicking her liberal acquaintances, Powers went on saying, “liberals are sort of taken aback because they feel like, ‘What are you talking about? Everybody knows that what I think is right and nobody thinks differently.’”

Fewer Folks At Home Watched Obama Inauguration Two

January 24, 2013 | Filed Under Barack Obama, Cable, Democrats/Leftists, Ethics, Government, Government, Corruption, Liberals, President, Progressives, TV, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

-By Warner Todd Huston

Compared to 2009, turnout in Washington for Obama’s second inauguration was hundreds of thousands of attendees lower this time around. But in-person visitors wasn’t the only number that suffered. There were fewer viewers at home for the event, too.

According to Gallup only 38 percent of respondents watched Obama’s second inaugural with an additional 28 percent saying they kept up after the news coverage afterward. This compared to 2009′s numbers where 60 percent said they watched the inauguration and an additional 20 percent watched the post inaugural news coverage.

Gallup also found that fewer Americans still have “hope” for an Obama presidency. In 2009 62 percent felt “more hopeful” with their outlook upon Obama’s inauguration but this time he only garnered 37 percent in that category.

Gallup concludes that it “certainly would be understandable for Americans to be less excited about a president’s second inauguration,” but that as Obama takes on his second term the nation shows “many signs” that it has not fully recovered.

SyFy Show Attacked by Gay Group

If you’ve watched SyFy, the science fiction cable channel, you may be aware of a show called Lost Girl. The show is well known as being quite “inclusive” commonly portraying gay, lesbian and cross dressing characters. Despite this fealty to the cause, a national gay group is still attacking the show over a recent episode.

Lost Girl follows the exploits of a heroine named Bo who investigates crimes involving supernatural or mythic beings such as vampires and the like. The show is in its third season on SyFy.

After the debut of its third season opener, the show, a Canadian import, has apparently made an enemy of GLAAD, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, over the way a particular “transgender” character was treated.

Even though the “transgender” character happened to be the villain in the episode, the gay advocacy group was angered by the violent and humiliating end the character experienced.

The villain was a warden in a woman’s prison run by fabled Amazons and portrayed as female through most of the show but the reveal at the end proved the character to actually be a man. The evil warden ended the episode dragged brutally out of the scene after being viciously grabbed in the crotch.

Later other characters insist on referring to the warden as a “he” instead of a “she” despite that he chooses to appear as a woman. This particularly upset GLAAD because other characters denied the “choice” of gender chosen by the warden.

AMC Developing Sitcom Titled ‘We Hate Paul Revere’

-By Warner Todd Huston

One of America’s most famous patriots is slated for a little attention on the AMC cable network–perhaps regrettably so. There may soon be a bit of hate going around for him with a new AMC sitcom in development called “We Hate Paul Revere.” So much for sitcoms where “everyone loves” someone, eh? And so much for patriotism.

According to reports, the show is being written and executive produced by writer-actors Ethan Sandler and Adrian Wenner. The show apparently centers on two brothers living in Colonial Boston who are not fans of famed Boston entrepreneur, Paul Revere.

Revere was a well-known businessman and silversmith in his day, but in ours he’s best known as one of the riders that caromed through Boston and nearby towns to warn patriots that “the British are coming.”

AMC has not officially picked up the show as of yet, nor has the cabler officially picked up any of the other few sitcoms it has greenlighted for development.

Picked up or no, the folks at Boston’s Paul Revere House aren’t very amused about the idea of their namesake becoming an object of sitcom derision.

The historical association immediately took to Twitter to express pique about the planned sitcom. On the Twitter accounts the Paul Revere historians and keepers of the Patriot’s image said “I hate this idea,” and “AMC, really?”

In a strange exercise, CNN reporter Tom Foreman has written a letter to the president every day of his presidency and intends to continue doing so until the bitter end. Talk about obsessive behavior.*

Tom Foreman is one of CNN’s third tier reporters and is frequently seen covering a gamut of stories on “Anderson Cooper 360º,” “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” and other CNN shows.

Starting with his first letter on inauguration day in 2009, Foreman began his letter writing campaign congratulating President Obama and asking, “Do you have any idea what you’ve gotten yourself into?”

The creepiest aspect of this strange campaign is how Foreman ends nearly every letter pleading for Obama to give him a call. Thus far the President has not availed himself of that opportunity.

With polls showing that our Second Amendment is still nearly as popular as ever, one is tempted to think that our guns are safe, for now. A new poll, for instance, even shows that the National Rifle Association is more popular than Hollywood.

On the other hand, only 24 percent of respondents had a positive view of the entertainment industry.

Congressman: ‘Older White Guys The Most Insecure’ Part of Society

Virginia Representative Jim Moran has taken PC, pop psychology to its logical extremes by claiming that “older white guys” are the “most insecure” part of American society . And where else but on MSNBC?

Moran, one of the nation’s most extreme, left-wing Congressmen, appeared on Al Sharpton’s MSNBC show on January 16 and went into an aspect of the next election cycle that seemed to trouble him. It was during this discussion that he found what is wrong with our nation.

Clearly, we had a very successful election in November. I worry a bit about 2014, when we don’t have the President at the top of the ticket. We have a disproportionately number of older white guys, and frankly, being one of those types, we’re the most insecure component of our society as far as I’m concerned; we’re much the problem with these kinds of things.

We have now arrived at the open admission from the far left that the only problem in America today is “older white guys.” In contravention to the left’s claims at being the “fair” and “logical” side of the aisle, all pretense of fairness and balance has finally been laid aside and all fault laid squarely on the shoulders of one segment of our society.

In years past, this sort of rote blame was called racism.

Morgan, Guests Don’t Understand Constitution, Don’t Care

Piers Morgan indulged his desire to gut the Second Amendment once again on his CNN talk show, and while most of his efforts were well ridiculed by Joel Pollak last night, one thing he brought up is a typical, though uninformed, question that many leftists illegitimately use to try and show why they should have all the power they want to ban any sort of weapon they feel like banning.

Early in Piers Morgan’s now seemingly daily discussion on guns, he once again garbled terms, misled on types of weapons, and basically displayed a woeful ignorance on the Second Amendment, as well as a lack of knowledge about what is already banned and why. It is that latter question that needs further discussion.

During the CNN show, Michael Nutter, the Mayor of Detroit, broached the question.

Michael Nutter: This is not about the Second Amendment. As you have said earlier I have said certainly many, many times, why does a civilian need a military-styled assault weapon, why does a civilian need body armor? You cannot buy hand grenades. Those are weapons but somehow they are prohibited. You can’t buy an F15 just because you think that you’d like to have that kind of device. So, we need to talk about more serious things…

Piers Morgan: We already have, actually, a lot of gun control in America. This is the myth of this debate. There’s already substantial gun control and commissioner let me ask you this, there’s lots of things are banned already it’s merely a question really of degree. And I have yet to hear a good argument for why an AR15, which is a military-styled weapon, why that should be in civilian hands?

Myth was a good word for Piers to use because he is promulgating one.

End Times: Fox News Hires Dennis Kucinich

Fox News has hired former Congressman and outspoken progressive Dennis Kucinich as its newest on-air contributor.

Kucinich may appear across various programs on both Fox Business Network and Fox News. His first appearance was on “The O’Reilly Factor” on January 17.

“I’ve always been impressed with Rep. Kucinich’s fearlessness and thoughtfulness about important issues,” said Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes in a statement. “His willingness to take a stand from his point of view makes him a valuable voice in our country’s debate.”

Kucinich praised Fox News for having given him a forum now and in the past adding, “I look forward to a continuation of our relationship this time as a Fox News contributor.”

As an Ohio Congressman and repeat Presidential aspirant, Kucinich proposed a “Department of Peace,” which was to include a new position that would be added to the President’s cabinet.

With the addition of Kucinich to its line-up of contributors, Fox News may now have the UFO-believers demographic sewn up, too. In 2007 Kucinich admitted that he witnessed an unidentified flying object in the 1980s.

CNN’s Morgan Thinks Government Will ‘Nuke’ Gun Owners

Piers Morgan has done it again, jumping into his anti-gun, anti-Constitution advocacy with both feet… in his mouth. Once again, Morgan took to Twitter to revel in his “civility,” this time ridiculing gun owners for being wary of the power of tyrannical government, scoffing that the Second Amendment won’t keep us all safe from a nuclear armed United States.

Morgan Tweeted his latest absurdist, misinformed Tweet on January 13: “America has over 5000 nuclear warheads. Quite hard to defend against a ‘tyrannical U.S. government’ with that kind of firepower. #GetReal”

So very vapid. Uninformed, ill thought out, and foolish all at once.

Are we to assume that Piers Morgan thinks that the only way governments ever trample on rights or oppress citizens is to “nuke” them?

Larry King: That Piers Morgan is Awfully Self-Absorbed, Isn’t He?

For years Larry King hosted the CNN show that is now helmed by British import Piers Morgan. Now King has opened up about his replacement and his pronouncement is not very flattering. King thinks Morgan makes the show too much about Morgan.

For those who remember, Larry King was more about being a conduit for the guests to entertain and enlighten viewers. His idea, perhaps an old fashioned TV ideal, was to make the show less about Larry King and more about the guests his viewers tuned in to watch.

King was old school in that way. We never learned much about the life or personal opinions of Jack Parr or Johnny Carson when they were hosting the Tonight Show, either. Those two icons let the guests speak and made their shows about the entertainment. For the most part, Larry King modeled himself on that classic version of the TV interview show.

But Larry King was quick to point out that Piers Morgan isn’t like that at all. Morgan is more about Morgan than he is about the guests, King said.

“I never gave opinions,” King said of his own CNN show. “Piers gives his opinions. The show is a lot about him as much as the guests… He’s so different from me,” King lamented.
