The South Rose Again While The North Napped

Northern elites love to look down their noses and sneer at southerners whom they consider loutish hayseeds who are just plain stupid. But as many in the north have dismissed the south, our states south of Mason and Dixon’s line has risen again right under the north’s very nose. Now, the best quality of life is in the south.

Recently Joel Kotkin noted that much of the economic power in the United States today is located in the old Confederacy where taxes are low, weather is pleasant, and jobs are plentiful. Meanwhile, the north is struggling under mounting debt, job loss, and rising taxes and a dwindling populace to tax.

In his article, “How The South Will Rise To Power Again,” Kotkin points out that current trends show that, “the South will expand its dominance as the nation’s most populous region. In the 1950s, the South, the Northeast and the Midwest each had about the same number of people. Today the region is almost as populous as the Northeast and the Midwest combined.”

Aides of Hillary Clinton’s 2008 Presidential campaign are reported to have kept a detailed list of enemy Democrats they felt betrayed Hillary by backing Barack Obama during that hard-fought primary campaign.

On the list were Senators John Kerry and Ted Kennedy, as well as Representatives Chris Van Hollen and Rob Andrews, all Democrats.

This news emerged from a new book titled, HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton.

On Thursday, December 19, a town hall hosted by extremist left-winger Al Sharpton of MSNBC, went a bit sideways for him as the event turned into a revolt against Chicago’s Democrat machine politics instead of a forum for his left-wing “solutions” to the problems besetting Chicago’s African Americans.

Much to Sharpton’s dismay, the nearly 100% African American audience at Sharpton’s townhall roused a protest against former Obama operative and current Chicago Rahm Emanuel and the Democrat aldermen of City Hall for their decades of constant failure.

One 82-year-old area preacher even went so far as to call for tea party-styled meetings in the neighborhoods to address all going wrong in the black neighborhoods of Chicago.

Nancy Pelosi Again Pushes ‘Republicans Hate Women’ Lie

Former House Speaker (I love to say that) Nancy Pelosi had an interview recently with MSNBC’s Alex Wagner where Pelosi decided to let us all know that Republicans hate women. Yeah, she really has nothing new or truthful to say, granted.

In the interview Pelosi loaded up with a long series of lies.

“I have told people that the Republicans in Congress are against family planning,” she blabbered. “It’s not just about terminating a pregnancy iIt’s about disrespect for women in terms of their decision making to about the sizing or timing of their having a family.”

This is, of course, a straight out lie. Republicans couldn’t care less if women want or don’t want a family and have no interest in getting involved in how women plan their lives. Being against infanticide is does not equate to being against women’s freedom to lead their lives.

Dan Bongino is a former Secret Service Agent form Maryland who has a warning for the country: we are in more danger now than ever thanks to the failed Obama administration.

Bongino is running for Congress in Maryland’s 6th District (Dan Bongino’s campaign website) and appeared on Glenn Beck’s TV show on December 5 to talk about his race and the state of the country when he warned that the nation is going down the wrong path.

One of Mr. Bongino’s guiding principals is to base all his ideas for governing on whether or not those ideas are constitutional in the first place. That is the sort of novel thinking we need in Congress, don’t you think?

Former Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino.

But Bongino is sour on the growing police state in which we live and is ready to pare back the powers of the department of Homeland Security, the CIA and the NSA–or at least apply constitutional limits to their powers.

New Jersey’s Republican Governor Chris Christie slammed Obamacare as a “train wreck” in comments made at a Jersey radio station on November 25.

Christie appeared on New Jersey’s 101.5 FM for his November “Ask the Governor” segment. That’s when he slammed Obamacare and the President but good.

Christie was asked why he didn’t join in on the state side and create a state exchange for Obamacare in New Jersey.

“This is just an awful law that made no sense and that’s why I didn’t get into a state exchange. And no, I have absolutely no regrets. In fact, I’m really glad that the train wreck’s not mine, it’s his,” the Governor said of Obama’s signature healthcare law.

This month, our country is remembering two famous Americans, Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. On November 19, 1863, Abraham Lincoln delivered his short (about 3 minutes) but inspiring speech at the dedication of the soldier’s cemetery in Gettysburg. November 22 marks the date when an assassin’s bullet ended the life of President Kennedy in Dallas, Texas exactly 50 years ago. Our current president has often sought to align or identify himself with either president at one time or another hoping that by association, some of their popularity might transfer to him. President Obama has characteristically had a way of inserting himself into every subject of historical note as the government’s historical website can attest to. The account of American’s remarkable achievements have been recently updated to reflect the current administration’s “contributions” to this country’s progress.

Though there have been many occasions where Obama has put on the Kennedy mantle, his keen interest appears to be the Lincoln one. In fact, he used the Lincoln bible for swearing in his oath of office at his two inaugurations. Here’s indisputable proof that greatness cannot be acquired by osmosis. He might have as well sworn in on a Marvel comic book because since he entered office he has deliberately and flagrantly circumvented the sacred oath to protect and preserve the Constitution.

A brief comparison of the two men and their respective visions for America however reveals how implausible it would be to interpose one for the other. This was glaringly apparent recently when Obama declined an invitation to speak at the Gettysburg ceremonies, explaining that he simply was too busy to attend. In other words, he had more important things to deal with (like repairing the DemolitionCare PR damage), then to pay homage to a man who in just a few eloquent and poetic words captured the essence of our Constitutional Republic and inspired the country to persevere. Lincoln managed to make it in the midst of conducting a enormous nationwide military campaign and running the government with just a very few aids, no massive security detail, no four speech writers and no teleprompter which had not been invented as yet.

Obama Wasn’t The Only Democrat Who Lied About Keeping Our Healthcare

Of course, we are all now thoroughly familiar with the four years of lies President Obama laid on us about keeping our healthcare insurance and doctors “if we like them.” But Obama wasn’t the only liar. He had a phalanx of elected Democrats ladling on the same lie to their voters. Here are their quotes.

Rep. Butterfield: “For North Carolinians who already have health insurance, the only changes you will see under the Affordable Care Act are new benefits, better protections from insurance company abuses, and more value for every dollar you spend on health care. If you like your plan you can keep it, and you don’t have to change a thing due to the health care law.” (“Health Care Resources,” as seen on 10/24/2013)

Rep. Cárdenas: “If you have insurance right now, your plan stays the same. This means if you get your health insurance through work, if you have Medicare or if you are a member of California Healthy Families, you keep that coverage.” (“What Valley Residents Need to Know about Health Care Reform”)

Rep. Castor: “…If you like your health insurance, you can keep it. Keep your current doctor as you see fit.” (“What Does Health Insurance Reform Mean for You?”)

“Nothing in this bill will force you to drop your current coverage. Rest assured, if you like your health insurance, you can keep it.” (Press Release, 7/31/2009)

Anti-Gun Penn. Mayor Ousted From Office by Pro-Gun Voters

Let this be a warning to all arrogant politicians who think they don’t have to listen to their constituents. An anti-gun mayor in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania was fired by pro-gun voters this month after he enraged hundreds of voters by joining New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s discredited anti-gun group, Mayors Against Gun Violence.

In the Nov. 5 election, voters in Chambersburg ousted incumbent mayor Democrat Pete Lagiovane in a region steeped in gun culture and hunting traditions.

Mayor-elect Darren Brown, a tea party Republican, was gratified but noted that he was a little worried about how close the election ended up being. “The results are a little closer than I thought they’d be,” Brown said after winning with 52 percent of the vote.

The NRA used its powerful voice in support of Brown, “The only pro-gun candidate in this race,” as the legislative arm of the NRA said in advertisements.

In a new interview, former President Bill Clinton essentially admits that Obama has lied when he told America that we could keep our insurance policies and doctors “if we like them.”

Clinton thought that Obama’s claim that we could keep our insurance is a promise he should have kept. Clinton contends that young people heard this promise quite clearly and it’s one President Obama needs to keep–even if keeping it requires a change in the Obamacare law.

“So I personally believe, even if it takes a change to the law, the president should honor the commitment the federal government made to those people and let them keep what they got,” Clinton said.

Man, when even a president with the reputation as being one of the biggest liars to ever hold that office says you are a liar, you are in REAL trouble.

Goldberg was on with O’Reilly warning conservatives and tea partiers that if they push for a conservative presidential candidate in 2016 then Hillary Clinton will easily win the White House. Goldberg insisted that conservatives and tea partiers should throw away their principals and vote for a mushy moderate like Chris Christie.

Not only that but he called the “hard right” the real RINOs (Republican In Name Only):

Do We Have a Chance to Remake the GOP as a Conservative Party?

November 12, 2013 | Filed Under Anti-Americanism, Conservatives, Constitution, Democrats/Leftists, Education, Elections, GOP, Government, Liberals, Progressives, Republicans, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

There are a few facts about the current political climate that are 100 percent beyond question. One is that the GOP establishment hates Tea Partiers and conservatives far more than they hate Democrats. Secondly, if there is amnesty for illegals, the GOP will become a permanent minority party. So, if amnesty arrives perhaps we have the opportunity to eliminate moderate Republicans and remake the GOP as a truly conservative party for the first time in history?

So, the latter part of my first paragraph is an admission of sorts. The Republican Party has never been a truly conservative party. It really is the moderate, establishment’s party, not ours. Granted, when founded the GOP was actually the radical party. It was for the elimination of slavery, not the tolerance of it. There was little mincing words with the so-called “black Republican” Party. But its post Civil War incarnation is what it’s been for most of its history.

As it evolved after the North won the Civil War, the GOP became the party of big business. At the time that was essentially the “conservative” position to take, but the fact is one cannot use the words “conservative” and “liberal” to describe American politics until FDR began his assault on the business sector and George McGovern put the final anti-American nail in the Democrat Party’s coffin.

Did This White Candidate Win Election Pretending to be Black?

Candidate Dave Wilson was the surprise winner of the District 2 seat in Tuesday’s Houston, Texas Community College Board Trustee election. It was a “surprise” because Wilson is white and District 2 is a Houston inner city electorate. But some are crying foul because Wilson sent out a pretty misleading flyer making it seem like both he and his supporters were black.

The big winner, Dave Wilson, fully admits that this was all a campaign of political mischief. “I didn’t expect to win,” he told KHOU 11 TV after his big upset victory.

The incumbent, one Bruce Austin, an African American, has been elected and re-elected to the District 2 seat for 24 years and his loss on Election Day came as an unwelcome surprise. It did sort of seem he was talking it with a bit of humor in the TV report, though.

In the KHOU report, Austin says, “I don’t think it’s good for both democracy and the whole concept of fair play. But that was not his intent, apparently [then he chuckles].”

So, what did Dave Wilson do that was so underhanded?

Could Obamacare Just be a Giant Democrat Voter Registration Scheme?

Obamacare may just be the biggest, boldest scheme by Democrats to register millions of new Democrat voters, analysts say.

There is one thing many Americans don’t know about Obamacare. Within the procedure of implementation of the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, billions of tax dollars are being given to left-wing groups to “help” people learn how to sign up for Obamacare. But, worse, those same groups are permitted to register people to vote Democrat.

These left-wing groups–called Obamacare “navigators”–are comprised of left over remnants of the now partially defunct group ACORN, other left-wing community groups, and union operatives, Democrat hacks all.

As part of their duties of “helping” people sign up for Obamacare, these “navigators” are also authorized to register people to vote over the phone and via the Internet. We’ll give you one guess as to which party they will push people to sign up for. Yeah. Democrat.

As former New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey pointed out in a recent commentary, these left-wing activists turned Obamacare “navigators” are not restricted from pressuring people to register as Democrats. She said that these so-called navigators “can say and do things that government employees can’t, such as urging people to register as Democrats.”

Politico Buttresses Liberal Republicans at the Expense of Conservatives

The Old Media establishment hates all Republicans, certainly, but they tolerate liberal Republicans because those sorts of Republicans don’t rock the boat and are quite happy taking the scraps from the Democrats’ table. So, the media always does its best to promote liberal Republicans and will use them as a foil to destroy conservatives–the latter of whom they truly despise. Politico recently had a perfect example of this Old Media strategy.

In a piece discussing how conservative Republicans in the House of Representatives are lagging with their donations to the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), Politico had a perfect example of how the left frames the debate when they are pretending to “report” on what is going on with the GOP.

The story noted how many of the House conservatives most associated with tea party principals don’t seem to keen on giving some of the campaign war chests to the NRCC so that it can promote left of center Republicans–and who can blame them?

In a great example of agenda “journalism,” the left’s narrative was perfectly pushed in the third paragraph of the slanted piece by Politico’s Alex Isenstadt.

Here is that paragraph:

This is the most petulant, most arrogant president in American history and now he is threatening to purposefully crash the global economy unless the Republicans bend over backwards, betray their voters, and give Obama every political policy he wants.

Obama keeps claiming that he and his Eurocratic Democrat Party cohorts won’t “pay a ransom” over the current budget impasse in Washington DC. But with his sudden insistence that the GOP abandon the sequester cuts–the only real cuts the GOP has managed to put into place–then he’ll crash the US and global economies. So, essentially Obama is demanding a $1.1 trillion dollar ransom!

$1.1 trillion, as it happens, is what the sequester was going to save. Granted the sequester wasn’t really made up of anything other than cuts in the growth of federal spending, but still it was $1.1 trillion in spending that wasn’t going to happen.

But, now Obama is threatening to force the USA into default unless the GOP abandons even that tiny cut in spending.

Rumors have been making the rounds that Barack expects to push his wife into the spotlight in order to finally destroy the Clinton machine and put himself 100% in charge of the American far left and its power base, the Democrat Party.

Right now, Barack is still in competition with Bill and Hillary. The Media still runs to the aging horndog that was once our president for his thoughts on the issues. This is galling to Barack who thinks the sun revolves around him in the political universe.

Note that President Obama has built an entire campaign edifice that has not turned its resources over to the Democrat Party.

End Of a Fairey Tale: Poster Artist Says Obama’s Drones Killed ‘Hope’

Shepard Fairey is famous for having created one of Obama’s most iconic propaganda campaigns–the Obama “Hope” poster–and for being one of the President’s biggest early fans. But the end of this Fairey tale is at hand as the artist is now saying that Obama’s use of death from the skies turned him against the President.

When asked by TMZ’s paparazzi stringers if after Obama’s first five years in office he’d put a “different word” at the bottom of a re-imagined Obama poster, Fairey ruefully said, “yeah, I’d put a few different ones.”

When pressed on what one might be, Fairey said, “Yeah, how about drones!”

One small area of disagreement between President Obama and the extreme left has been Obama’s use of drone strikes to take out terrorists. The left criticized George W. Bush as a “war criminal” for his use of drones and while the left has not often applied that extreme rhetoric to Obama, they are still quite disappointed that the President has not only continued Bush’s use of drones but ramped that up to new heights.

Now it looks like we can count “Hope” poster artist Shepard Fairey as one of Obama’s newest, on-the-record detractors.

Moderate Republicans Finally Found Someone They Will Fight… Other Republicans

The Republican establishment led by such folks as Senators Mitch McConnell and John McCain don’t want to fight the Democrats. But after this latest Obamacare funding fight, we have discovered that there is a side they will attack: other Republicans.

Those Republicans who voted “yes” on Friday’s cloture vote in the Senate knowingly voted in favor of funding Obamacare. There is no other way around that simple truth.

There was absolutely no doubt that a “yes” vote would give Democrat leader Harry Reid the power to remove all the features that the House put in the budget bill that would defund Obamacare. GOP “yes” voters knew this without doubt. And, true to that assumption, only minutes after the DR was passed with Republican assistance, Reid did just that. He stripped out all aspect of defunding from the CR budget bill.

Yet, twenty-five Republicans voted “yes,” anyway.

Even while these RINO senators were turning tail and running from the fight against Obamacare and refusing to fight the Democrats, they did find a reason to attack someone. They attacked Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and all conservatives that want to be rid of Obamacare.

Brandon Darby, one-time liberal activist and now a Breitbart contributor, is the subject of Informant, a new film about his journey through the left’s grievance factory and the act of domestic terrorism he helped the FBI thwart. But Huffington Post is not very happy about it all. In fact, in his quasi review of the film, HuffPo’s Kris Hermes is more upset at Darby for “undermining” the left than he is at folks on his own side that wanted to kill Americans with firebombs.

At the outset Hermes admits that he has no intention to actually review the film in his film review saying, “I ultimately decided to review Informant not for its content.” But instead Hermes announced he intended to use his piece to name call, gripe about Dabry’s actions, and dismiss any wrongdoing from his compatriots in left-wing activism.

Hermes gets right to the name calling, too. In his first paragraph, Hermes calls Darby a “right-wing propagandist,” in his third he oddly calls Darby a “misogynist” and in between he claims that the FBI exists to “criminalize entire Muslim and Arab-American communities” and says Darby did the same thing; “criminalize fellow (left-wing) activists.”

Colorado Dem Senators Get Recalled, PPP Polling Throws Out Own Poll Foreshadowing Results

September 11, 2013 | Filed Under 2nd Amendment, Anti-Americanism, Colorado, Constitution, Democrats/Leftists, Elections, Ethics, Gun Control, Guns, Liberals, NRA, Progressives, Senate, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

Today we have a great example of a polling firm allowing its political ideology to get in the way of its work. On Tuesday, Sept. 10, two anti-Second Amendment State Senators in Colorado were recalled by huge margins. In the days before the recall vote took place, Public Policy Polling (PPP) had conducted a poll that showed that the senators were about to be eliminated by voters but the firm refused to publish its own poll because the left-wing pollsters couldn’t imagine the results could possibly be right. Colorado just couldn’t be that right-leaning, PPP thought.

State Senate President John Morse (D, Col. Springs) and Sen. Angela Giron (D, Pueblo) lost their bid to retain their seats

Firstly to explain what occurred in the recall vote, and this is a great victory for Second Amendment supporters, too, we need to expound a bit on the whole thing.

State Senate President John Morse and fellow Senator Angela Giron were two principal supporters of the strict new anti-Second Amendment gun laws that were forced onto Colorado in the aftermath of the shooting in an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.

But Morse and Giron pushed these anti-gun laws contrary to the wishes of their own constituents. After the laws were forced down Coloradan’s throats, both Morse and Giron admitted that they ignored their own voters and did so for their own good and were proud that they did so.

A recall effort began almost immediately and both were successfully cast into a recall election by local, grassroots organizers who gathered the requisite number of signatures to get the recall elections scheduled.

But in the run up to the recall elections hundreds of thousands of dollars in political spending flooded the two districts. Most of this outside money was from left-wing organizations attempting to defeat the local gun-supporters and their effort to recall the two senators. The recall election became an important battle ground between the constitution-hating left and supporters of the Second Amendment.

On September 10, the recall election was held and both were recalled handily. It was the first time any state lawmaker has ever been recalled.

Now, back to the polling company PPP.

Typical: Democrats Trying to Steal the Recall Election in Colorado

-By Warner Todd Huston

Currently in Colorado there is a recall election being staged for two Democrat State Senators. Naturally, Democrats have already been caught trying to steal this election with rampant voter fraud.

Senate President John Morse and Pueblo Senator Angela Giron, both Democrats, are being recalled because of their anti-Second Amendment votes and because they have systematically ignored the will of their constituents by voting along with the desires of the national Democrat Party instead of on local issues.

These two elections are fraught with national significance and a ton of outside money from the left, and some but not nearly as much from the right, have flooded these two districts.

Because of the national profile of these elections as a fight over the Second Amendment, Democrats are desperate to win and–as usual–will break any law to force that win.

In the video you see Democrats being accused of stuffing the ballot boxes with perhaps hundreds of illicit ballots dropped off when the election itself is supposed to be a walk-in vote only with only “hardship” ballots mailed in or dropped off early.

Figures, doesn’t it? Thieves and crooks will never change their spots and you can’t be a Democrat without those indelible spots in full bloom.

Louisiana’s Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu is embarrassed by America. So embarrassed that she can’t travel in Europe because some Americans lack health insurance. Naturally, many Americans would be happy to donate to a fund to give Landrieu a one-way ticket to her choice of European countries.

Landrieu was speaking at the Legis-Gator luncheon hosted by the Chamber Southwest Louisiana on August 16 when she made the remarks.

She first said that she was quite proud of her vote for Obama’s take over of America’s healthcare system. “If I had to vote for the bill again, I would vote for it tomorrow,” she said.

She went on to announce her embarrassment over America. “It’s embarrassing to me to go to places like France and Spain … and their workers all manage to have health insurance that can’t be taken away.”

Landrieu is up for re-election in 2014.

Illinois Conservatives Criticize Rauner Over Tribune Photo

Friday morning’s Chicago Tribune (8/16/13) featured a photo of businessman and GOP candidate for Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner getting a big smooch on the lips from “friend and supporter Susan Petty.” The phot got many conservatives up in arms.

Venture capitalist Bruce Rauner, a Republican candidate for Illinois governor, kisses friend and supporter Susan Petty on Thursday after riding to the Illinois State Fair in Springfield on his motorcycle. Thursday was Republican Day at the fair. (Tribune caption)

The photo, taken by John J. Kim at the Republican Day event at the Illinois State Fair, raised criticism from several directions. Some raised concerns about moral issues and some found it a telling illustration of political coalition building.

First of all the woman delivering the smooch is one Susan Petty, a political operative who was until the end of July on the payroll of Adam Andrzejewski’s For the Good of Illinois.

Life Inside the White House: Obama Staffers Reflect

This is a very interesting panel assembled to relate their experiences of working in the White House for Barack Obama.

If you can get past the slobbering love they have for the worst president in American history–a sycophancy that is to be expected of true believers such as these–it is nonetheless quite interesting to hear their experiences about actually working inside the People’s House.

The video was made by the University of Chicago. The panelists are Jon Favreau, former director of speechwriting for President Obama; Katie McCormick Lelyveld, former press secretary for First Lady Michelle Obama; Chris Lu, Cabinet secretary and former assistant to the President; and Elizabeth Jarvis Shean, former White House research director.

The moderator was Kenneth Walsh, chief White House correspondent for U.S. News and World Report and author of the book “Prisoners of the White House.”
