Hllywd Director Phil Lord: Jay Z and Beyonce ‘Look Like Dupes’ Over Cuba Trip

More condemnation for the vacation trip to Cuba indulged by rapper Jay Z and gal-pal singer Beyonce, this time from Hollywood director Phil Lord–himself the son of a Cuban refugee. Lord thinks that the entertainers were “dupes” of the oppressive Cuban military, that they “don’t care” about the political gulags Cuban dictator Castro built, that they essentially mocked the thousands of Cubans that have been imprisoned and lost their lives in those prisons, and says the pair represent little else but “nihilism with a beat.”

Beyonce and Jay Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Havana, Cuba, apparently with the blessing of Barack Obama’s administration quite despite that the U.S. still has an official prohibition against Americans visiting the Island nation turned political prison.

Lord told the media that at first he thought that Jay Z and Beyonce just weren’t aware of the oppression of Cuban people. He gave them the benefit of the doubt that they just weren’t aware of the many artists that had been imprisoned and their art banned. But after Jay Z released his song that taunted people opposing Cuba, Lord realized that Shawn Corey “Jay Z” Carter knew exactly what he was doing that that made it all the worse.

The director of such films as 21 Jump Street and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is not alone in his condemnation of the Island hopping Carters. AJ Delgado also slammed Jay Z for the trip saying, “Beyoncé and Jay-Z not only legitimize and support the repressive regime, with both their presence and their cash, but turn a blind eye, cruelly, to the perils and languishing of the Cuban people.”

AP: Gosnell’s Gruesome Assistants ‘Only Following Orders’

In shades of the Nuremberg Trials, an April 12 article from the Associated Press seems to excuse away the actions of the assistants of accused criminal abortionist Kermit Gosnell as “only following orders.”

For the AP, Maryclaire Dale begins her piece with that very sentiment saying, “They say they were just doing what the boss trained them to do.”

Incredibly, throughout the article, Dale seems to absolve these assistants for the horrible things they did, softening the guilt of nearly every person accused of crimes with excuses.

In some cases, Dale claims that these accused assistants had a hard time finding jobs before Gosnell gave them a shot at killing babies born alive. According to Dale, one had to work for Gosnell because she had “post-traumatic stress syndrome.” Dale excuses others because they were somehow related tangentially to fiendish Doctor Gosnell.

Leftist Hypocrites on Campaign Donations

One of the left’s biggest rallying cries against what they claim are the evils of the right was its opposition to the Citizens United Supreme Court decision that essentially opened up our political process to unlimited donations to political causes. The left claimed allowing more money into politics was evil and says the case must be over turned. But now leftists in New Jersey are hypocritically using the case for their own ends.

A Washington DC-based left-wing super PAC has sued New Jersey’s campaign finance watchdog agency saying that the Garden State shouldn’t be allowed to limit what it can raise from an individual donor.

As a New Jersey paper reported recently, “The Fund for Jobs and Growth filed the complaint against the state Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC) in federal district court on Friday.”

New Jersey says that there should be a limit per donor. But the group wants to raise money to make independent expenditures (i.e. political spending independent of the campaigns they are pushing) and based on the Citizens United case, they say that they should be able to wheedle from donors every penny that they can–and they are right, too.

CNN To Import Liberal Talker From Canada

As CNN continues to search for new talent to spark its revival, new President Jeff Zucker is looking to Canadian talk show host George Stroumboulopoulos to come down from the Great White North on a mission to make it big in the states. Yes, CNN is importing a liberal from Canada because importing that liberal from Britain worked out so well.

Stroumboulopoulos, who mercifully goes by the nickname “Strombo,” hosts a TV show on Canada’s CBC where he cozies up to rock stars, talks art and movies, and ruminates about pop culture.

In its announcement of the move, CNN pledges that Strombo will bring to America his “fresh, thought-provoking style fuses big ideas, with art, pop culture, politics, news, sports, and celebrity.”

“We’re really pleased to bring this special series to CNN,” said Amy Entelis, senior VP for talent and content development for CNN Worldwide. “It is a good example of the expansion of the CNN strategy to bring new kinds of relevant and engaging programming to a broad audience.”

Tax Day: Destruction, Yes, Creative, Not Even Close

One of the concepts of capitalism is that it is “creative destruction,” in that companies will rise and fall as the need for them ebb and flow and that as some fall new ones will rise and this will keep the economy humming along nicely. But government quashes this cycle with oppressive taxes and what better day than Tax Day to remind us all of how this president is doing a lot of destroying but NO creating.

So, as Americans waste $168 billion annually to try and satisfy the Internal Revenue Service, here are a few charts and a video from Heritage Foundation to show how bad it has gotten. Just a reminder on Tax Day…

Ill Urges Gay Couples to File ‘As if Married’ on Federal Taxes

The Illinois Review noticed an interesting thing about the instructions for the State of Illinois 2012 tax returns. Illinois is urging gay couples to file as “married.”

As IR notes, tax filings may be a bit confusing for same sex couple in Illinois. The Land of Lincoln allows for civil unions, but the federal government does not, so figuring out how to file may be a bit of a challenge.

The instructions get even more confusing because the Illinois civil union law does not require couples to denote whether they are same sex when filing for civil union licenses. However, the Illinois tax form and instructions explicitly refer to same-sex couples civil unions and denotes other, special instructions for opposite sex civil unions.

At the top of the tax form, the IL-1040 has a check box option for same-sex couples that reads: “D. Check if same-sex civil union return (see Instructions)”

Here is a scan of the front page of the instruction booklet…

Here is a scan of the actual instructions…

Pastor Rick Warren, Gun Control, and Matthew Warren’s Suicide

Pastor Rick Warren and his family suffered a devastating loss last week when their son, Matthew, took his own life with a pistol that he may have bought illegally from a person he contacted over the Internet. Dealing with such a loss is heartrending, of course, and the Warren family has much to endure as they deal with this terrible incident. But one thing is sure, new gun laws would not have prevented Matthew Warren’s suicide.

Warren’s son, Matthew Warren, committed suicide on April 5 with a self-inflicted gunshot. After news broke, the young man’s father reported that Matthew had been under a doctor’s care for years and had been suicidal for some time. Sadly, his doctors weren’t able to save the young man from his fatal choice.

Rick Warren said, Matthew “suffered from mental illness resulting in deep depression and suicidal thoughts. Despite the best health care available, this was an illness that was never fully controlled and the emotional pain resulted in his decision to take his life.”

In the days since, Warren has Tweeted several times about his son’s death and in a Tweet on Friday afternoon, the Pastor of the Saddleback Valley Community Church mentioned that his son had bought his gun illegally from someone over the Internet.

The CA Bill That Would Shut Down Every Small Restaurant

The State of California has one of the worst proposals of any legislature in the country this year with a new bill that would force every restaurant and food service business in the state to commission an expensive “risk assessment” test for every menu item, a test that could cost thousands of dollars for every food item sold. This outrageous and cost prohibitive testing would certainly cause all but the biggest chain restaurants to go out of business almost instantly.

In another exercise in nanny-statism, California’s State Senate Democrats want this “risk assessment” conducted to determine whether food being sold “contributes significantly to a significant public health epidemic.”

The bill, Senate Bill 747, is an addition to the current health and safety codes and is currently set for a hearing on April 17. It was written and introduced by Sen. Mark DeSauliner (D, Concord).

The introduction of the bill clearly says that the law would require the food service companies to pay the state for the testing in order to fill state coffers and notes that without the assessment, the state would have the right to shut an offending restaurant down.

In a stinging indictment of President Obama’s tenure in the White House, at The Daily Beast Stuart Stevens slams President Obama for the devastating “new normal” that his failed economic polices have brought to the country. Stevens also blames the Old Media complex for ignoring the pain inflicted on America by those same failed policies.

Stevens begins his April 9 piece relating the sort of economic facts that the rest of the media conveniently ignore. He points out that even as the administration claims that unemployment is only around 8 percent, so many people have dropped out of the work force that the unemployment stat is but a hollow representation of the true unemployment rate.

He also points out that 16 million Americans have been added to Obama’s food stamp rolls since 2008, “a 46 percent increase and greater than the population of Ohio,” Stevens says. “More than 50 million Americans now live in poverty. That’s one in six Americans, and one in five American children.”

This, Stevens says sharply, is the worst since LBJ was president and it was so bad then that the Texan launched a “war on poverty” to try and cure it.

Despite millions if federal loans, last week luxury hybrid car maker Fisker Automotive fired 80% of its employees at its California-based company. But now those employees hired the same law firm that sued “green energy” company Solyndra to charge that Fisker violated state and federal laws with the layoffs.

On April 5, Breitbart reported that Fisker Automotive, Inc. laid off up to 80% of its employees due to a cascade of major errors and bad business decisions even though President Obama pumped millions in federal tax dollars via loan guarantees into the company starting in 2011.

Fisker’s employees were already on a two week furlough when upon coming back to work were told they would be laid off. Employees reported they had received no severance package but did receive pay for vacation time earned.

Supernanny Cass Sunstein’s ‘Friendly Paternalism’: It’s For Your Own Good, America

Cass Sunsetein, one of President Obama’s leading left-wing, university eggheads, has penned an interesting piece in New Republic explaining how the nanny state is really a very important and useful aspect of today’s modern Democrat scheme. It’s for your own good, don’t you know?

Launching his April 8 piece, “Why Paternalism Is Your Friend,” Sunstein evokes New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s (mostly failed, not that Sunstein says so) nanny state efforts to take away his constituents’ freedom on such things as trans fats, sodas, and guns. Sunstein points out that to his mind, all this “paternalism” isn’t so bad after all. Throughout his piece Sunstein eschews nannyism for “paternalism” because it sounds nicer, of course. Optics, you know?

As an example of useful paternalism, Sunstein praises Obama’s demand that the auto industry once again up its CAFE standards saying that the new requirements would “save money” for everyone and “who could be outraged by that”? Naturally Sunstein simply accepts Obama’s pie-in-the-sky claims and simply assumes the new standards will actually have the impact Obama claims it will.

Sunstein ignores the fact that in many cases the technology doesn’t even yet exist to satisfy Obama’s draconian fuel economy demands. He also ignores many other facts. Such as the fact that one of the easier ways to achieve the new standards is to make smaller, lighter, and more dangerous vehicles. Americans would end up with tiny cars that go slower and have less resistance to accidents making drivers and passengers less safe on the road. Should people be outraged about that, Mr. Sunstein? In his zeal to give Obama all credit, Sunstein apparently doesn’t think so.

Champaign Mayor Accused of Assaulting Local Musician

Champaign Mayor Don Gerard, once a local rock and roll musician, has been accused of assaulting a local musician at a public event.

Champaign musician Jim Bean has filed for an order of protection against Mayor Gerard saying that he physically assaulted him at the Boneyard Creek Community Day sponsored by the Champaign Park District.

Bean told police that he was playing a song on his guitar when Mayor Gerard interrupted him and began to verbally assault him. The argument continued until Mayor Bean called the police on the musician. The police came but no charges were filed at that time.

Gerard claims that the musician had somehow harassed his teenaged daughter, but musician Bean says he doesn’t even know the Mayor’s daughter.

The 16 RINOs That Voted for Anti-Gun Bill That DOESN’T EXIST!

There are sixteen Republican senators that need to be eliminated. These are the sixteen reputed Republicans that voted for the Democrat’s gun ban bill. It is bad enough these anti-Constitution Republicans joined the extreme left in this endeavor, of course, but even worse they all voted for a bill that doesn’t even exist.

The GOP’s sold-out sixteen voted to shelve a filibuster and allow the anti-Second Amendment bill to go through based on their understanding of the Toomey/Manchin compromise, but the problem here is that there isn’t any bill to debate. Why? Because the neither Toomey nor Manchin have written one yet.

Before we go on, here are the sixteen Republicans that stand against the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution (and the office phone numbers).

Lindsey Graham (SC) (202) 224-5972
Lamar Alexander (TN) (202) 224-4944
Kelly Ayotte (NH) (202) 224-3324
Richard Burr (NC) (202) 224-3154
Saxby Chambliss (GA) (202) 224-3521
John McCain (AZ) (202) 224-2235
Tom Coburn (OK) (202) 224-5754
Susan Collins (ME) (202) 224-2523

Dean Heller (NV) (202) 224-6244
Mark Kirk (IL) (202) 224-2854
Pat Toomey (PA) (202) 224-4254
Roger Wicker (MS) (202) 224-6253

Earlier in the day, before the sold-out sixteen cast their votes against the Constitution, Senator’s Mike Lee (R, UT) and Ted Cruz (R, TX) put out a joint statement that got to the nub of the matter.

MSNBC Host Says ‘Get Over It,’ Kids Belong to Community, Not Parents

Liberal cable TV network MSNBC recently aired a corker of a promo, this one showing on-air personality Melissa Harris-Perry saying that our kids aren’t ours, that they belong to the community and parents need to “get over” this crazy idea that their own kids belong to them.

Straight from the Comintern, Harris-Perry says that we could “plan our investments” better if we could just dispense with the idea that kids belong to parents and that parents should have the responsibility to raise them according to the parents’ ideals and principles. All hail the state who, in Harris-Perry’s views, isn’t just big brother, but is also big mother and big father.

Here is a transcript of what the MSNBC screedist said on the promo:

Roll Call: Obama Has ‘Given Up’ On Those Darn Republicans?

In an interesting break from reality, Roll Call posits that Obama has now “given up” on Republicans as partners for helping him get some “governing done” in Washington DC. Of course, the Capitol Hill newspaper fails to show when it was that Obama ever consider the GOP to be his governing partner in the first place.

For Roll Call, writer Steven T. Dennis claims that, “Obama already seems resigned to the reality” that he won’t be able to successfully initiate his massive re-tooling of America to reflect his left-wing agenda because the GOP isn’t interested in “bipartisan action.”

Dennis reports Obama’s recent lamentation that he can’t get anything done without California’s Democrat Representative Nancy Pelosi back in the House Speaker’s chair and notes his complaining that Boehner and the Republicans won’t just bend to his will so he can do what he wants to do.

But, Dennis reports from Obama’s side of the argument, refusing to point out that President Obama has never considered the Republicans and the millions of voters they represent as important partners in running Washington DC in the first place.

Quit Laughing, Hillary Really is Just LIke Margaret Thatcher

With the passing of Margaret Thatcher, one of the greatest, most powerful women in recent political history, the American Old Media establishment is all abuzz about… Hillary Clinton. To their minds, talk of the powerful and brilliant Thatcher naturally brings to mind the wife of one of their favorite presidents and Hillary, as far as they are concerned, is somehow “just like” Margaret Thatcher.

I know, I know. Stop your laughing. Hillary really is just lIke Margaret Thatcher.

Or maybe not.

But, of course you should laugh. The idea that Hillary Clinton is anywhere near at the level of a Margaret Thatcher is laughable, indeed. The fact is, there is no comparison. Hillary is an influence peddling, lightweight compared to the great Margaret Thatcher, and I am not even talking about ideology.

The difference between Maggie Thatcher’s accomplishments and Hillary’s couldn’t be more stark–and not in Hillary’s favor, either.

Hypocrisy: Concert Rocks Fiscal Doomsaying White House

As President Obama is heard scolding Republicans on a near daily basis for forcing a sequester that is shutting down government and halting funding for things like White House tours, he and First Wife Michelle geared up Tuesday for a star-studded, soul music concert in the White House that featured such stars as Justin Timberlake, Queen Latifah, and the Reverend Al Green.

Only a few days before the big April 9 gala concert, President Obama was still warning of the evils of sequestration, but the purported “severe” cutbacks of government spending didn’t stop the President from enjoying a night of stirring soul music during the program titled, In Performance at the White House: Memphis Soul.

The First Lady kicked off the April 9 tribute to Soul with an hour-long, morning program held in the White House State Dining Room and billed as a “guidance” on the upcoming Memphis Soul performance at the White House. The event was held for students and music lovers and featured soul greats Sam Moore, Mavis Staples, Charlie Musselwhite, Ben Harper and also featuring pop star Justin Timberlake as panel members taking questions from the audience.

Obama’s Political Action Group Loses Complaint Against Website Address Owner

Last year, President Obama’s re-election campaign reworked its operations renaming it Organizing for Action in an effort to leverage the President’s monumental email address list to urge supporters to back the President’s policies. But OFA made a tiny mistake: it didn’t register all the various website addresses for its new effort. Worse, when others jumped to register the names, Obama’s political group filed a complaint to get the web addresses back. Now Obama has lost that battle.

In February I reported that team Obama didn’t perform its due diligence and register all the website iterations as is normal business practice in today’s Internet centric world. As Obama’s OFA made its debut, no one in his purportedly Internet-savvy campaign had obtained the corresponding .com, .net, .org or .us sites, nor did OFA register other names that are close to its official one, as is the sensible practice.

In one case, Breitbart reported that Derek Bovard registered the website address www.organizingforaction.net and set it so that visitors would be re-directed automatically to the homepage of the National Rifle Association.

The manufacturer of the rechargeable Karma auto informed 160 workers of the layoffs coming to the Anaheim, California-based company. Fisker was said to have employed 200 before this week’s announcement.

This is only the latest blow to the “green” auto company. Only last month the company’s name-sake, Henrik Fisker, resigned over “unspecified” disagreements with other executives and the company stopped production of its cars after its lithium-ion battery supplier declared bankruptcy.

The battery company, A123 Systems Inc., declared bankruptcy in October of last year despite the millions in in tax dollars pumped into the company by President Obama.

According to Bloomberg, Fisker has retained the services of Kirkland & Ellis LLP to explore a restructuring of the company.

FAA to Delay Closure of 149 Air Traffic Control Towers Until June

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced it will delay the closing of 149 air traffic control towers until mid-June.

In March, the FAA announced it would close the 149 federal contract air traffic control towers as part of the agency’s $637 million budget cuts as required by sequestration.

The FAA changed the closure schedule to “allow the agency to attempt to resolve multiple legal challenges to the closure decisions” and to allow some 50 airports more time to assume funding of the towers themselves.

Peter Kirsch, a lawyer representing the affected airports, told USA Today that they are seeking a court order to block the closures and expect a ruling by April 12.

The truth is women make pretty much the same as men when “apples” are compared to “apples”…

the Independent Women’s Forum, in a continued effort to set the record straight about the real reason for the statistical difference between men and women’s earnings , releases an informative, stop-frame animation web video — Straight Talk About the Wage Gap. The video explains how women’s choices ultimately determine how much they earn and how government intervention in the workplace can backfire on women.

Two Quick Examples of U.S. Government Lies in Labels

April 8, 2013 | Filed Under Anti-Americanism, Communism, Democrats/Leftists, Ethics, Government, Government, Corruption, Liberals, President, Progressives, Transparency, TSA, Warner Todd Huston | No Comments

Political fancy talk is always fascinating. By this I mean, the essential lies that government tells by re-naming something to make it sound benign or even beneficial when it is really just another anti-American, liberty-killing government initiative, or giving it a harsh label in order to destroy whatever activity that government wants destroyed. Here I have two recent examples of these.

Now, by “re-naming” things to sound better, I mean things such as the so-called “Employee Free Choice Act.” This is a law that actually takes choice away from employees and does not give them any freedom but enslaves them to Obama’s pals in the unions. Or take the “Affordable Healthcare Act” (we know it as Obamacare) which will drive costs up through the roof for everyone. “Affordable” my ass. Or, I’m even talking about the ages old term “re-education camp,” a term that replaced “death camp” because it sounded better. You know, that sort of stuff.

Anyway, my first example will be from our much beloved Transportation Safety Administration (TSA), that agency that saves us daily from those evil water bottles and shampoo containers that are just to darn big to be “safe” on an airplane.

Mark Levin On Fox’s Dana Perino: ‘I’m Sick Of The Preening, Elitist, Country Club Republicans!’

On April 2 on Fox News’ The Five, former George W. Bush press secretary Dana Perino criticized Doctor Ben Carson for appearing on too many conservative shows. This criticism sent talk show host Mark Levin into criticism of his own saying he was sick of these “preening, elitist, country club Republican(s).”

Ben Carson is the newest star in the conservative firmament and he’s now entering that spot in his debut onto the scene were pundits think they know better about how he should comport himself than he does. Thus, Perino’s advice for Carson is to stop doing TV and radio and “lay low” for a while.

Why? According to Perino it’s because doing conservative talk radio is bad for his image. Already Carson has “burned through so much of his credibility,” Perino claimed.

NY Mayor Bloomberg Blames State’s Mess on Gov. Cuomo

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is at it again, this time going off on Governor Cuomo and many other state legislators claiming they aren’t fit for any job in the private sector.

In a recent interview on a New York TV station, Bloomberg slammed the state’s legislators saying, “The average legislator who has to make policy on things that influence our lives, our kids’ lives, our future, would they ever get a job in the private sector making policy on big things? No, not a chance.”

Bloomberg also slammed Gov. Cuomo for his frequent practice of attaching a “message of necessity” to bills sent to the legislature. This practice forces quick votes on bills and prevents lawmakers from having enough time to fully consider them before being expected to cast a vote.

Barack Obama: The Best Lying Demagogue Ever to Infest the White House

As he disgustingly used law enforcement officials as a back drop in Colorado, President Obama uttered a few lines about his un-Constitutional gun grabbing policy ideas that truly proves he’s the best lying demagogue to ever sit in the Oval Office.

Obama had a message about elected officials, who they are, and what they want to do about Obama’s anti-Second Amendment crusade. But his phrasing of the subject is particularly interesting. He turned the truth on its head, made anyone that stands for the Second Amendment into a nut case, and dismissed any thought that government could be used as a tool of oppression despite the whole of human history proving him otherwise. And he wrapped up by hinting that anyone that stands against him wants more kids to die.

Here is what he said:

Now, notice the conceit, here. Obama is trying to ridicule anyone that supports the Second Amendment for its real, actual purpose–as a check on government oppression. He is trying to make it seem that Second Amendment supporters are nuts or even dangerous, but at the very least dismissible because they understand the true purpose of the Second Amendment.

Even Piers Morgan Criticizes Obama Over Lavish Vacation Spending

April 7, 2013 | Filed Under Barack Obama, Budget, Cable, CNN, Democrats/Leftists, Ethics, Government, Corruption, Journalism, Liberals, Media, Media Bias, President, Progressives, Taxes, TV, Warner Todd Huston | No Comments

On Wednesday, April 3, President Obama announced he would be returning 5% of his paycheck to the federal treasury in a show of shared sacrifice with federal workers facing furloughs because of the sequester. The news came as he once again flew about the country pushing his anti-Second Amendment policies and only days after another lavish vacation indulged by the first family was in the news.

Morgan lambasted Obama’s attempt to spread the pain of austerity to his own household calling it a “pointless exercise” and despaired that the President wasn’t doing something more substantive.

Morgan railed saying, “if he gave up the vacations, which are costing the taxpayer hundreds of thousands of dollars, it might have more impact than five percent of $400,000.”

But even here Morgan soft-pedaled the money the American people have spent on Obama’s many vacations.

LA Times: NRA’s School Plan ‘A Hail of Bullets Will Protect Everyone’

The National Rifle Association recently put out its National School Shield proposal elucidating its ideas on adding more security in the nation’s schools. And right on cue, the Los Angeles Times ridicules the NRA’s plan as but “a hail of bullets” that “will protect everyone.”

In an editorial from April 2, the L.A. Times’ Robin Abcarian opens her piece with a series of jokes lambasting the NRA’s plan as, “a kiddie version of the National Missile Defense program. Star Wars for Schoolyards. A hail of bullets will protect everyone!”

The NRA debuted its National School Shield initiative with front man Asa Hutchinson, a former Republican Congressman from Arkansas, leading a full court press campaign. Hutchinson’s pitch essentially stated that at least one armed security guard be stationed at every American school. This, Hutchinson said, would increase response times to attacks.

This idea–one guard at every school–is what Abcarian characterized as “a kiddie version of Star Wars” and a “hail of bullets” that would protect everyone.

Should Congressional Staffers Have Their Private Twitter Accounts Published?

A Congressional watchdog group called LegiStorm has announced a sweeping new project aimed at government transparency. But part of that project has staffers on Capitol Hill crying foul because it lists all their private Twitter accounts.

On April 3, LegiStorm announced its new StormFeed tool saying it is a, “real-time, full-text searchable access to every official press release and official tweet from Capitol Hill plus the tweets of thousands of congressional staffers.”

But many staffers began to complain when they began finding their own private info on the thing. Worse, many found out of date or simply wrong info on it. As one staffer told Politico, “I was pretty surprised to show that they even listed who I married, when I married him and where. Why in the world does that need to be in there?”

Politico also said this: “A Democratic staffer said the new feature brings an unwelcome level of scrutiny to a group of people who haven’t sought the spotlight.”

Democrat or no, isn’t this staffer correct, here?
