(In Memoriam of Phyllis Schlafly) Schlafly On the GOP Establishment, Karl Rove, Mitt Romney and Other ‘Losers’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Today the redoubtable Phyllis Schlafly passed away at the age of 92 years young. Schlafly was a major voice for the conservative cause and will be dearly missed.

In her honor, I am reposting my last meeting with her….

This year at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), I was fortunate enough to get some time to interview one of the most redoubtable conservative activists in the nation, Phyllis Schlafly. In this eighteen minute video you will encounter a woman that is extremely vital and at 89-years-of-age still sharp as a tack.

As is her wont, Schlafly eschewed kid gloves with her frank discussion of the GOP establishment and how those effete, east coast, country clubbers are at war with the conservative, Midwestern grassroots.

Take Schlafly’s description of “the establishment,” for instance:

Republicans Who Support Hillary Are Traitors to This Country

Republicans Who Support Hillary Are Traitors to This Country

-By Warner Todd Huston

The news media has been all a twitter over the small group of ne’er-do-wells, government leeches, and has-beens who claim to have been Republicans in the past but who are now nonetheless supporting Hillary Clinton for President. But those who pretend at being Republican and support Hillary need to be ostracized and cast out of the center right coalition, not because they are traitors merely to the Republican Party but because they are traitors to the entire country.

These group of un-American traitors have joined together to push a fool-filled group going by the name Republicans for Clinton (or R4C16). They explain their disastrous support for this anti-American effort as one that will “defeat Donald Trump, restore GOP leadership and save the senate.”

But in truth, if people are stupid enough to join these halfwits and are successful in their goal of electing the criminal Clinton to the White House their group will achieve none of those things.

Now, I don’t say this as a big Trump guy. I supported Cruz and there is a ton I don’t like about Trump. But he is by leaps and bounds better than Hillary.

Here is how these government leeches explain their mission:

After Scolding Trump, Now It’s Khizr Khan Making a Mockery of His Son’s Sacrifice

After Scolding Trump, Now It’s Khizr Khan Making a Mockery of His Son’s Sacrifice

-By Warner Todd Huston

The father of a slain U.S. soldier who happened to be a Muslim made himself a temporary icon for liberals when he went on stage at the Democrat convention and attacked Donald Trump. But now that father, Khizr Khan, is going on the Sunday shows and making a mockery of his own son’s sacrifice by claiming Islam has “nothing to do” with terrorism.

Mr. Kahn lost his son, Captain Humayun Kahn, in Iraq in 2004 and in an attempt to shore up their military bonafides, the Democrats pushed him up on stage during their convention in Philadelphia to wag his finger in GOP nominee Donald Trump’s face.

With a wife who befitting of the second class status of women in Islam was standing at his side and not allowed to say a word, Mr. Kahn insisted that he and Muslims like him are “loyal” to the United States and as proof offered the story of his son who fell in service to the country in Iraq.

Waving a booklet of the U.S. Constitution, Kahn attacked Trump saying, “If it was up to Donald Trump, [Kahn’s son] never would have been in America. Donald Trump consistently smears the character of Muslims. He disrespects other minorities, women, judges, even his own party leadership. He vows to build walls and ban us from this country.”

Kahn ended his attack on Trump yelling, “You have sacrificed nothing. And no one.”

As he waved the Constitution, the bereaved father also yelled at Trump to look in the document to find the words “liberty” and “equal protection under the law,” the latter in a nod to religious liberty apparently.

But, here is the thing… potential immigrants do not have a right to expect that the U.S. is not allowed to screen them out because of their religion, their nationality, or any other factor. The U.S. Constitution does not force the federal government to apply Constitutional rights to foreigners waiting at our door to enter the country.

Today All True Americans Are Left Without a Party

Today All True Americans Are Left Without a Party

-By Warner Todd Huston

If you are a true, constitutionally minded American, you really are left without a party or even a faction. It really is that simple.

Now, before I get rolling on this, I am not a Trump supporter — I wanted Cruz. On the other hand I am also not a #NeverTrumper, either — Because, well, Hillary. But today’s nomination of Donald Trump is both in keeping with our system and evidence that the system has been damaged, perhaps irreparably.

Also, the whole destruction of America began with the Democrat Party, it is certain. However, the Democrats didn’t act alone and contrary to popular belief the GOP has NOT been the stalwart, true-blue Americans standing athwart the Democrats’ path and yelling “this but no farther.”

Let’s face it, the GOP hasn’t been a real opposition party since maybe before Robert “Mr. Republican” Taft walked the halls of the capital. At the very least since Eisenhower the GOP has been the junior partner to the Democrat Party supporting the exact same ideals but only at a slower, more orderly gait.

It is well known that many purported conservatives — especially those of the intellegencia and the so-called neocon bent — feel that the welfare state is permanent, over spending is forever, and big government cannot, and maybe should not, be turned back because they feel it is all a settled question and as Republicans all we can do is slow the wheels a little bit and make sure the march to socialism isn’t as tumultuous as the Democrats want it to be.

So, the Republican Party and its intellegencia have abandoned the American way, granted they’ve done so far later than the Democrats who abandoned the American way at the end of the 1800s when socialism and then communism was the great new thing that was to save the world and perfect the human animal.

Flash forward to Donald Trump as he catapults into the GOP nomination for president.

240 Independence Days and Counting, But What Does it all Mean?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Today America enjoys the celebration of 240 years as a nation by noting the day we declared our independence from England. Sadly, that celebration has, for too many, become the “Fourth of July” holiday, a day of picnics, rote parades, “white sales,” and for some a day off work. Of course, we should not and don’t celebrate any “July Fourth” holiday. We celebrate Independence Day, the day we formally separated from our parent nation and took those first unsteady steps into the world as a nation of our own.

So, what is this Independence Day all about? Well, for one thing we celebrate the gifts that our Creator has given us. That’s right, our Founding Fathers started this nation celebrating the gifts of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and those natural rights given to us by God, rights that no man or government can take away from us, rights no man can legitimately prevent us from observing.

Contrary to the God-averse America we have devolved into, the Declaration mentions God, the Creator, or the divine multiple times and the Founders rested their entire claim of liberty and freedom on the claim that no government can legitimately take away the natural rights that mankind should and must enjoy.

Lifelong Democrat Operative and ‘Journalist’ Chuck Todd Says Supporting Trump is ‘Choosing Party Over the Country’

Lifelong Democrat Operative and ‘Journalist’ Chuck Todd Says Supporting Trump is ‘Choosing Party Over the Country’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Having started his professional life as a Democrat campaign worker back in the 1990s, NBC’s Chuck Todd has been a lifelong Democrat operative. Now, this political hack posing as a “journalist” is saying that anyone who supports Trump in 2016 is choosing “party over country.”

You read that right. A guy who has played sellout to the Democrat Party for over 30 years is calling Republicans sellouts if they vote for Trump.

The startling and hypocritical statement came during an interview with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan–himself a sellout who has put party over principle–on this weekend’s “Meet The Press.”

After Ryan said he would support Trump for the GOP nomination and then for president, Todd blurted out this little gem: “you just made a case though for party over country.”

Ryan sensibly disabused the Democrat operative working for NBC that his claim was specious saying, “No I didn’t! I know Hillary Clinton won’t agree with anything we want to do. She’ll put a bad judge on the Supreme Court. She won’t agree with any of the conservative reforms we’re trying to do.”

The Lack of Logic in the World of #NeverTrump

The Lack of Logic in the World of #NeverTrump

-By Warner Todd Huston

It seems to me there are some major logical disconnects in the world of #NeverTrump that simply boggle the mind. In fact, in many ways these disconnects make hypocrites out of the #NeverTrumpers.

Before I get to the topic at hand, let me say I fully understand the reasons they don’t like Trump. In fact, I share their sentiment in many ways and I did not support Trump in the primaries. I have also written against him in years past, so there’s that. He seems to me to be more or less a non-commital liberal. He’s no conservative and I prefer conservatives.

I say this to note that I understand their anti-Trump sentiment. Further I agree that if they can’t vote for him they shouldn’t. But I have a major problem with some of their claims for pushing a third candidate–most especially one that is to come out of the blue and at the last second.

One of the main points many #NeverTrumpers use to eschew Trump is that, despite his coming out on top in the primaries, millions of voters voted for other candidates instead of Trump. This, they say, means “most”–or at least a large portion–of the GOP voter base did not want Trump and therefore he isn’t the most popular candidate among the center-right wing of the U.S. electorate.

So, they say Trump is illegitimate because he didn’t *really* get the majority of the GOP primary votes. OK, well and good. Let’s go with that.

Yet, on the other hand, they say they want to run a third party candidate and they say this mythic candidate can win if they focus their campaign only on the states with the largest Electoral College votes. That way he doesn’t have to run a “national” campaign and can focus on a strategic campaign that uses the rules to win instead of one that aims to sweep the whole country and get the largest number of votes.

Shift in U.S. Against WWII A-Bombing of Japan is a VERY Bad Sign

Shift in U.S. Against WWII A-Bombing of Japan is a VERY Bad Sign

-By Warner Todd Huston

On the even of Memorial Day when we take a moment in our busy lives to remember the sacrifice made by millions of soldiers who lost their lives in war since our nation was founded, President Obama went on another apology tour, this time to grovel in front of the Japanese in abject despair for dropping the atomic bomb on them during WWII. Sadly, too many Americans are just as foolish as he if the results of a new poll are any indication. It is all proof that the U.S. is losing its grip on reality.

Before I get too much farther into this business, let me just say to Japan that I am not sorry we destroyed two of your major cities with the A-Bomb. I don’t have even a tiny bit of sympathy for Japan’s loss. They started the war, they murdered and enslaved millions (not hyperbole), they attacked us, and even as their forces were clearly beaten they refused to surrender which would have necessitated perhaps a million more casualties should the U.S. have had to invade to pacify them. They even refused to surrender after we wiped out Hiroshima with a single bomb forcing us to do it again at Nagasaki.

Actions have consequences and Japan’s actions led to what they deserved. Period.

Unfortunately, today too many Americans are starting to regret the A-Bombing of Japan, the bombing that saved the lives of so many Americans and Japanese both. A new poll finds a bare one percent more Americans now disapprove of the bombing than approve.

A new CBS News poll found only 43 percent of Americans still approve of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki while 44 percent disapprove. This year’s result compares to 53 percent approving of the bombing in 1990 with 41 percent disapproving.

This is a travesty created by our failed miseducation system.

CA School OKays Hispanic Students Wearing ‘Dump Trump’ Shirts Even as U.S. Flag Shirts Banned

CA School OKays Hispanic Students Wearing ‘Dump Trump’ Shirts Even as U.S. Flag Shirts Banned

-By Warner Todd Huston

A California high school has agreed to allow Hispanic students to wear their “Dump Trump” T-Shirts on campus despite a dress code that seems to prohibit them. The controversy is set against a backdrop of a federal court ruling banning U.S. flag shirts in California schools.

Sean Boulton, the principal of Newport Harbor High School in Newport Beach, a town south of Los Angeles, decided to acquiesce to the request of a group of Hispanic students who wanted to wear their shirts denigrating GOP front runner Donald Trump even as the school’s dress code could be read as prohibiting them.

The school’s dress code for the 2015/16 school year puts a ban on clothing with “inappropriate graphics” and clothing with messages that “denigrates others on account of gender, sexual orientation, race color, religion, ancestry, national origin, handicap or disadvantage.”

Despite those rules, school authorities are now allowing students to wear shirts attacking Trump and his voters.

Unapologetic Millennial Conservative Has a TOUGH Message for Her Generation

-By Warner Todd Huston

Young journalist Alexis Bloomer has a message for her fellow millennials and it’s one many won’t want to hear. Alexis wants her fellow 20 somethings to “pull their pants up” and start actually contributing to society instead of lazing around and posting social media updates as if that was activism.

Bloomer also has a message to the older generations: “I’m Sorry,” she says. Sorry for the many failings of her arrogant generation.

The journalist said she decided to assess her generation. “As a millennial, I decided to take it upon myself to try to evaluate what’s so wrong with our generation and why they’re so mad at us,” she said on her video posted to Youtube.

But as she looked over her generation she realized that some of the harshest criticism of millennials probably has a lot of validity to it.

“We’re just existing, we’re not really contributing anything to society,” she insisted and then went on to lay out all the accusations against her generation.

“Our generation doesn’t have the basic manners that include no ma’am and yes ma’am,” Bloomer said. “We don’t even hold the door open for ladies much less our elders anymore.”

Let’s Clear Something Up About a ‘Contested’ GOP Convention, Voters DON’T Count and NEVER DID!

Let’s Clear Something Up About a ‘Contested’ GOP Convention, Voters DON’T Count and NEVER DID!

-By Warner Todd Huston

There is a lot of valid angst about who will become the nominee for both the Republican and the Democrat Parties this year. We are in a day when the voters are clearly pulling in a multitude of ways and not giving any candidate an overwhelming nod. But there is also a lot of BS about how “the will of the voters” is being thwarted by the party system and much of this is misinformed.

I am not saying that none of this should make you mad. Just get the facts before you get mad. Don’t shy from getting mad, just be informed while you do it!

Let’s just get one fact out of the way at the outset: your vote in a primary is not and never was the only or even the final say on who the party picks for its nominee. The will of the voter does matter in a general election where the nation picks the president, but not as much in a primary when the parties are picking who they will offer up as a candidate for the forthcoming general election. The fact is, primaries are not “the election.”

It is the party that picks the nominee, not the voter. Yes, the votes in the primary are a key guide for the party and yes, if the vote is overwhelming for a particular candidate both parties generally chose that candidate. But, the fact is the parties — any party — can pick who ever the heck they want quite regardless of the vote totals.

After all, that is what a party is for, to control its destiny and policies.

Governor Nathan Deal’s Dumbest Claim to Quash Religious Freedom

Governor Nathan Deal’s Dumbest Claim to Quash Religious Freedom

-By Warner Todd Huston

On Monday Georgia Governor Nathan Deal vetoed a religious liberty bill that would stop state authorities from forcing Christians to participate in gay marriages, but one of the “reasons” Deal said prevented him from signing the bill is fraught with a pretzel logic he can’t possibly believe.

In the Governor’s view, HB 757 was “discriminatory.” Instead of protecting religious freedom, Deal claimed it only served to oppress gays. Worse, he said despite clear examples of such coercion in other states, since it’s never happened in Georgia then the law isn’t needed.

Of course, the law was written to head off the sort of state-sponsored coercion and curtailment of religious liberty seen in other states, not necessarily a law meant to correct what has already happened in the Peach State. The fact it has happened in a number of other states was plenty enough reason to try to prevent it from happening at all in Georgia.

In any case, Deal goes on to note how religious liberty is one of the first principles of the founding of the country. The founders, Deal said, “made it clear that those liberties [religious liberties] were given by God and not by man’s government. Therefore, it was unnecessary to enumerate in statute or constitution what those liberties included.”

He then went on to indulge some truly absurd pretzel logic that is so tortured even he can’t possible believe it…

Trump Needs to Take Responsibility For His Rhetoric

Trump Needs to Take Responsibility For His Rhetoric

-By Warner Todd Huston

There is a big argument being waged between Trumpeters who say he is utterly innocent for the violence constantly occurring at his rallies and those who say it is all his fault because of his bellicose rhetoric. The truth is, Ted Cruz is right. It isn’t an either or, it’s a little of both.

To start out, I don’t want to say that the violence being whipped up by your Move-On, George Soros, Occupy-type leftists are justified. Nor is it dismissible. The protests we are seeing over the last month at Trump rallies are not spontaneous bands of local citizens upset about Donald Trump. They are organized, anti-American agitators who are using Trump to foster anarchy.

These people have been around for decades. They are the same people who peopled the failed Occupy Wall Street “movement,” the same type of people who helped organize the 1968 Chicago convention riots, the same who have organized unrest, destruction, race hatred, and attacks all across the country since the anarchist craze started at the turn of the last century. They are all of a piece, all un-American, all hateful of our system and history.

Further, none of this violence would be happening at Trump rallies if they were not organizing ahead of time and making efforts to invade Trump rallies in order to try and foster violence.

And before I go on I should say that the leftists perpetrating violence at these rallies are not to be excused for what they are doing. They are wrong. Their actions–even if expected–are wrong.

However, there is a reason these people aren’t targeting Cruz or Rubio or Kasich or any of the other candidates before them. It is because Trump has invited them with his own bellicose rhetoric.

Ted Cruz Addresses the Northwest Republican Lincoln Day Dinner

-By Warner Todd Huston

I was in attendance at this year’s Northwest Suburban Republican Lincoln Day Dinner in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. We had a nice visit from Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

We hear little bits from these candidates all the time, including in the debates. But it is rare for people to actually hear a candidate’s entire stump speech. This is a perfect example fof the main points that Cruz gives to audiences.

So, if you’ve never heard a Cruz stumper, this is a great example.

A word about the video. I was too far to Ted’s right (no jokes, please) as he spoke from the dais. So, I focused my iPhone at the video screen which was just next to me. So, that is why the colors are a bit washed out. but I WAS in the room for the speech.

Cruz also spoke before the event and here is my report on that: Ted Cruz Suggests Violence at Donald Trump’s Chicago Rally ‘Starts at the Top’.

John Kasich and His Big Government Education Disconnect

-By Warner Todd Huston

Ohio Governor John Kasich talked about education at the GOP debate in Detroit, but what he said essentially reveals the disconnect between apparent conservative rhetoric and a less conservative love of big government.

Talking about how the schools in Cleveland, one of the largest cities in his home state of Ohio, have been turning around lately due to new policies, the Governor tried to wrench that into federal policy.

Those local policies may be all well and good, but one sentence he unleashed that night revealed a dichotomy between conservative boilerplate and the usual, big government nonsense we see from establishment and Washington Republicans.

“And, frankly, look, if I were president,” Kashich said, “I’d take 104 federal programs, bundle them into four buckets, and send it to the states, because fixing schools rests at the state and the local level, and particularly at the school board level.”

Notice the disconnect? He began talking about those “buckets” of federal money he’d “send to the states” for education. And why would he send all those buckets loaded with tax dollars? Because “fixing schools rests at the state and the local level, and particularly at the school board level.”

So, what is the disconnect?

Scott Walker CPAC 2016: We Have Had Much Success in the States

-By Warner Todd Huston

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, the most anticipated entrant into the 2016 GOP primary, and it’s first victim, was the opening speaker for Wednesday’s Conservative Action Political Conference convention and reminded the audience that the Republican Party is stronger than ever in state houses across the nation.

Walker, who led a Republican revolution in the generally liberal state of Wisconsin, noted that we have more Republican governors than ever before and more GOP-led state legislatures than ever.

If national politics is a mess for the center right, the states are a hotbed of conservatism.

It should be remembered that Wisconsin was one of the nation’s birthplaces of progressivism (California being another) and when Walker took the governorship there it was a shock to liberals in general and Democrat unionists in particular.

Walker was a prohibitive favorite of conservatives across the country and man eagerly awaited his entrant into the 2016 GOP primary election cycle, but his campaign flagged early, had internal trouble, and Walker himself couldn’t seem to get his message to resonate. He was one of the first high profile candidates to end his race for the White House.

I am here at National Harbor, Maryland for CPAC 2016 and will be occasionally sharing updates about the event.

Can You Be a Conservative and Also a Trump Voter?

-By Warner Todd Huston

A few weeks ago I wrote a piece saying you can’t be a conscientious conservative and refuse to vote for Donald Trump if he faces Hillary Clinton in a general election. But can you also be such a conservative and vote for Trump in a primary?

Before I go on, here, I have to note that I am not a Trump supporter. Even though I wrote you have to vote Trump if the choice is between him and Hilary in a general election contest, I’d rather see any general election for Trump avoided from the start.

So, the straight answer to the question posited in the headline above is “no.” No you can’t be a committed conservative and vote for Trump in a primary. If you are voting Trump you are one of three types of voter and none of the three can be a committed conservative.

Three Types of Trump Supporters

Politics, Left And Right, Dumbed Down to ‘Fairness’

Politics, Left And Right, Dumbed Down to ‘Fairness’

-By Warner Todd Huston

As the presidential primaries roll out across America it has become clear that the voters are revolting against the establishment — both on the left and the right. Usually we think of the Republicans and Democrats as being polar opposites, but in today’s climate large numbers of voters on both sides are lining up in opposition to the elites for exactly the same reason. Both the left and right are in revolt over “fairness.”

Large numbers of voters, those voting for Trump on the right side of the aisle and those voting for Sanders on the left, are upset that America is no longer fair for everyone. Certainly the definition of fair and the cure for this lack of fairness takes different forms on the left and right, but it is fairness they are both exercised about, nonetheless.

Many center right Americans are worried that the large youth vote jumping on the bandwagon for self-professed socialist Bernie Sanders is a harbinger for a collapse to come and proof that America’s children have become communists. It is also proof that they have rejected the American ethos and tradition. But, while the end product might be much the same, I’d argue that it isn’t true that these Sanders voters are really voting for actual socialism.

In fact, I’d argue that most of them haven’t a clue what socialism even is. If they did they’d realize what a stupid idea it would be to vote for someone so foolish as to imagine socialism is a good idea. 20 years ago Bernie Sanders would have been thought of as a crackpot and would have been utterly dismissed from presidential politics.

He’s Not One of Us: Marco Rubio is an Establishment Republican

-By Gary Krasner

Is Rubio a conservative? “Compared to what?” as Henny Youngman would ask. And he’s right. Everything is relative.

Which is why I was jolted when Rush Limbaugh seemed to say during his Feb. 2 show that Rubio is a conservative no different than Ted Cruz. Rush visited the topic the next day, too.

But then Rush is a pushover. He knows his fellow Floridian personally and I suspect he feels it would be a betrayal to cast him out. Rush was a good soldier for President G.W. Bush, if you recall. Because Rush is a nice guy. Loyal to friends. He’s not like Michael Medved, for example, who calls Ted Cruz a self-interested political opportunist, and lauds people like John McCain, Lindsay Graham, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Oren Hatch, and had actually supported Mitt Romney as his first choice.

Given the folks Medved has loved for years, it’s no surprise to me that Marco Rubio is his preferred candidate. But Rush considers Rubio sufficiently conservative, and distinct from John Kasich or Jeb Bush?! The man from Realville? It doesn’t compute.

A Trump Presidency Would Mean a Do-Nothing in the White House and That Ain’t a Bad Thing

A Trump Presidency Would Mean a Do-Nothing in the White House and That Ain’t a Bad Thing

-By Warner Todd Huston

I hate to burst your bubble, America, but if Donald Trump were to become president we would not get a president who “blows up the system,” nor would we have a president who “does great things.” What we’d have is a do-nothing for four (or perhaps 8) years. But that may not be a bad thing.

One of the reasons many center right voters have become Trump supporters is because they expect he’ll upset the establishment’s apple cart and destroy their grip on power by “doing things” that will give power back to the people. I put “doing things” in quotes because not a single soul out there knows exactly what “things” he could do in order to achieve the destruction of the establishment.

And therein lies the trouble. Trump hasn’t laid out a realistic plan for anything. He just jumps on stage, rambles on and on spouting catch phrases and buzzwords all while offering no substance whatever. In this way he is exactly like our current failed president. When Obama first campaigned for office he was all full of well turned phrases, buzzwords, and airy claims but offered nothing by way of substance. He simply looked good and people just assumed he’d “do something” to rattle the status quo.

Where Trump differs from Obama is that Obama’s entire history prior to running showed he would be a stiff-necked, unbendable, anti-American in the White House. He was an extremist, socialist-styled, doctrinaire left-winger whose entire life previous to the White House proved he’d do his level best to tear down the U.S.A. But his airy rhetoric fooled millions of idiots who voted for him while ignoring his past.

Video From Oregon Activist: ‘We’re Breaking NO Laws’ But Warns They Are Armed—NO RUBY RIDGE

-By Warner Todd Huston

As patriots gather outside the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns, Oregon, all eyes are on the activists gathered there to protest what they feel is a government gone wild. Many of the activists are armed raising some fears that bloodshed could result if Obama’s government sends armed officials to clear them out. But one activist has a warning and a promise for officials.

In a video posted to Facebook, activist Jon Ritzheimer told those watching his video that he and his fellows have gathered to defend their Constitutional rights.

Close to the end of the video the activist explains one of the reasons that he and his fellows are protesting. He says that the refuge is “swallowing up ranches.”

On the video Ritzheimer continues saying, “this refuge here we found out is also the largest and it’s getting bigger and bigger. It’s swallowing up ranchers. It’s already kicked off over 100 ranchers from this land.”

Still, Ritzheimer goes to pains to point out that the land they are camping on is public land and that they aren’t breaking any laws. He further points out that there has been no vandalism of the park. He insists, “there’s nothing illegal taking place here.”

“This land belongs to ‘we the people.’ It’s outlined right here in the Constitution,” Ritzheimer says.

WATCH: Ronald Reagan Reads Life of Christ to Children at White House at Christmas in 1982

In the inaugural broadcast of NBC’s “Christmas in Washington,” part of the program included then-President Ronald Reagan reading “A Solitary Life,” a parable of the life of Jesus Christ, to children gathered at the White House.

After nearly 2,000 years, Jesus today is “the centerpiece of much of the human race,” says President Reagan. All the armies, govrnments, and powers of this world have not affected the world in any way as powerfully as this “one solitary life,” he explains…

Advance Preview of Obama’s ‘Terrorism’ Address: ‘America, We Must Become a Nation of Sheep Led to the ISIL Slaughter’

Advance Preview of Obama’s ‘Terrorism’ Address: ‘America, We Must Become a Nation of Sheep Led to the ISIL Slaughter’

-By Warner Todd Huston

We here at PubliusForum.com have been fortunate enough to be afforded a sneak peek at Obama’s “terror” address that he will be giving today. Without further ado, the president of the United States:

My fellow Americans, tonight I felt it was important to come before you so that you could hear what I think about these horrible attacks my country has suffered these last few weeks.

Certainly I grieve for those who fell victim to the gun violence my country is embroiled in. I am heart broken by the loss the victims’ families feel and understand their pain. Sadly, with their lives filled with the pain caused by the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, they have little room in their minds to help me advance my ideas. Tonight I hope to put an end to that.

Many un-American people who don’t understand who we are as a people want to continue this wretched gun culture that has made me embarrassed to visit other countries. To them I say “no more.” No more will I sit idly by and allow them their Second Amendment rights. No more will I allow my people to stand armed against my policies. No more will I let my countrymen to have the last, best chance to answer back to terrorists by being armed with needless, dangerous, assault guns.

My country is suffering an occupation of sorts worse than any ISIL terrorist invasion. Republicans who cannot accept that I won are certainly more dangerous than any ISIL terrorist, especially since my policies have completely contained ISIL to a small and dwindling part of Iraq and portions of Syria.

Obama is Lying: U.S. Law DOES Ask Refugees for Religious Info and a Democrat Sponsored the Rule

Obama is Lying: U.S. Law DOES Ask Refugees for Religious Info and a Democrat Sponsored the Rule

-By Warner Todd Huston

As President Obama continues his push to wildly expand his plans to bring in hundreds of thousands of Syrian “refugees” into the U.S. despite what happened in Paris only a week ago, he is attacking anyone who opposes his dangerous policy. In particular he said that requiring a “religious test” for refugees is “un-American.” Yet, U.S. law does have a religious test in its refugee laws and in one case that test was put in place by a Democrat.

In a November 16 press conference held in Antalya, Turkey, Obama viciously attacked those opposing his desire to flood the U.S. with Muslims any number of whom will be–not might be–ISIS supporters. During his conference Obama called opponents “shameful” and “not American” for standing against him.

“When I hear folks say that, ‘Maybe we should just admit the Christians but not the Muslims,’ when I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which person who’s fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted, when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefitted from protection when they were fleeing political persecution, that’s shameful,” Obama said.

“That’s not American,” Obama blurted out. “That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion.”

Continuing to push his dangerous expansion of his Syrian refugee policy, later in the week Obama outrageously said that Syrian refugees are no more dangerous than any other “tourist” who visits the U.S.

Obama’s desire to warp our famed principle of freedom of religion as cover for his desire to flood the nation with dangerous Muslims is as galling as it is cynical because U.S. law really does have several instances of a “religious test” for refugees.

After Paris Terror, Liberals Attack Conservatives, Cry for Muslims, Worry Focus Taken Off Global Warming, Mizzou, Anti-Gun Agenda

After Paris Terror, Liberals Attack Conservatives, Cry for Muslims, Worry Focus Taken Off Global Warming, Mizzou, Anti-Gun Agenda

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Old Media and the liberal left’s reaction to the terror attacks in Paris last night really do prove that in and of itself leftists occupy just another niche of enemies to modernity and western civilization.

Certainly leftists are not themselves terrorists–though this is quite unlike the charge leftists make against anyone who is center right. But their ideas, ideals, and their reaction to Islamist terrorism makes of leftists haters of the west with a hate just as deep, just as white hot as any ISIS murderer’s hatred.

This we can see in the left’s reaction to what happened in Paris on November 13, 2015.

As a writer for Breitbart News one of my charges has always been to keep an eye on the outrageous nonsense that goes on in the left-wing media both in the U.S. and Eurdope, and in my piece today I trace several of the key reactions to the Paris attacks that reveals the media’s hatred for our own.

But the tone was set to absolve Islam by the president himself who reused to say Islam or Muslim in his short address to the nation on Friday evening (see a transcript of his comments at the end of this article).

In any case, the media worked hard to absolve Muslims and Islam only to blame conservatives and the west for the attacks.

Before the dust had settled and before even the extent of the damage and number of dead had been tallied from a string of terror attacks in Paris, France, liberals in the old media establishment were already writing pieces blaming conservatives, bemoaning that the attacks had taken the focus off pet liberal issues like Mizzou and global warming, and wringing hands for the safety of Muslims.

To name just a few of these liberals handwringing and blaming everything except Islam, Salon.com was early out of the gate with a story twisting the terror attacks into a weapon to use against conservatives.

Ben Carson: CAIR Broke the Law With Its Political Attacks

-By Warner Todd Huston

GOP candidate Dr. Ben Carson says that the non-profit Muslim activist group CAIR broke the law with its recent political attacks on him.

In an email sent to supporters on Saturday, Carson said, “The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) held a public press conference demanding that I withdraw from the presidential race.”

“Here’s the catch,” Carson’s email continued, “CAIR is a tax-exempt nonprofit, and the IRS rules explicitly prohibit such groups from intervening in political campaigns on behalf of–or in opposition to–a candidate.”

The Doctor is calling on the IRS to investigate the possible violation of it tax-exempt status.

Was Jeb Bush Caught Doing Trying to Make Himself Seem Bigger During Debate Photos?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Bush caught trying to trick the cameras?

Before the program began at the Reagan Library for Wednesday’s second Republican presidential debate all the candidates, including three of the four from the earlier, undercard debate, lined up for a group photo. But as the phtogs assembled, some accused Jeb Bush of rising up on his tiptoes and spreading his arms to make himself taller and wider than any of the other candidates.

Bush, who at six-foot-three is already one of the tallest candidates in the filed, stood near the center of the group denoting his status as a front runner for the nomination–at least by CNN’s reckoning. But as the cameras started to click, Jeb can clearly be seen rising up and spreading his arms.

As the Daily Mail jabbed, “Jeb Bush found a surefire way to put himself a head above the other candidates.”

Beltway Hacks Like Bill Kristol Are Why The GOP Needs to be Eliminated

Beltway Hacks Like Bill Kristol Are Why The GOP Needs to be Eliminated

-By Warner Todd Huston

For weeks the Republican establishment was attacking Donald Trump for refusing for a time to pledge that he would not run third party if he should lose the GOP nomination for president. Then he signed the pledge. But now establishment hack Bill Kristol is claiming HE will support a third party candidate if Trump wins the GOP nomination. It is this hypocrisy that shows why the rank and file are sick and tired of the Republican Party and why the GOP needs to be torn down and rebuilt as a real, conservative party.

Trump did finally sign that pledge that the GOP establishment wanted him to sign. These hacks said that Trump couldn’t clam to be a Republican unless he pledged to run as a Republican but then also pledged to support the party nominee if he lost the primary. OK, this makes a certain amount of sense.

However, that was early in this cycle when Trump was only up a little in the polls. Now that he has surged to a commanding lead (for now, at least) the GOP establishment is getting nervous. Because their effort to force Trump to sign this one party pledge had nothing at all to do with party loyalty. It had to do with the fact that they fully assumed that Trump could never win the nomination and they wanted to prevent his third party run in order to eliminate the possibility that as a third party candidate he would act as a spoiler allowing the Democrat to easily win the White House in 2016.

But now that Trump is leading handily, as I noted, hacks like Kristol are growing worried. Now they are starting to wonder if it really is possible for Trump to win the GOP nomination. And in that case they are coming smack up against the possibility that they will be the ones who don’t want to support the party nominee.

Hugh Hewitt Absolutely Meant to Throw a ‘Gotcha Question’ At Donald Trump

Hugh Hewitt Absolutely Meant to Throw a ‘Gotcha Question’ At Donald Trump

-By Warner Todd Huston

Last week right of center radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt had Donald Trump on his radio show and during the interview began throwing a long string of terrorists’ names and organizations at Trump and needled him to say who he knew, what groups they were with, when they started, and all manner of ultra specific answers. Of course, even during the interview Hewitt claimed that he wasn’t trying to throw “gotcha questions” at Trump, but in fact that is precisely what he was doing, his disingenuous protests aside.

Yes, it is pretty disingenuous for Hugh Hewitt to claim he wasn’t trying gotcha questions with Trump. Throwing out a long list of names is not asking about foreign policy.

Asking “What would you do about Hamas” or directly asking about any other foreign policy issue is totally legitimate, of course. But to say, “do you know” this name, that name, these names, and his name, is not “foreign policy,” it is gotcha stuff. They tried this with Bush, they tried it with Reagan, but never once were questions like these asked of Democrats.

Spanish Language Media Calling Donald Trump ‘Hitler’

Spanish Language Media Calling Donald Trump ‘Hitler’

-By Warner Todd Huston

As the Trump campaign rolls onward, Spanish language media in the U.S. are turning increasingly hostile with the real estate mogul being called everything from Hitler to a monkey.

Tempers flared at a recent Trump press conference when activist Univision TV personality Jorge Ramos leapt to his feet to interrupt the questions from other reporters and threw out a series of rapid fire statements and but no questions.

Trump had Ramos removed for the disruption, but then relented letting the activist TV star to engage him in a debate on some of the candidate’s immigration ideas.

Ramos has admitted that he isn’t really covering Trump as a reporter because Trump’s comments are “personal” to him.
