Still a Slavish Flack: Carney Blames TV Networks for Fewer Obama Speeches

By joining CNN as an on-air commentator, former Obama Press Secretary Jay Carney has passed through the revolving door between the Obama administration and the media, but he is still Obama’s man and in an interview with his new employer he noted that the TV networks are to blame for Obama not being allowed to make more TV speeches. It is lain that Carney will continue to be a bind flack for Obama even on CNN.

Carney stepped down from his post as White House press secretary in June and by September it was announced he was joining CNN as a news commentator. But Carney rose up as an Obama flack one more time in a new interview released on the eve of his debut on the cable network.

In the Wednesday interview Carney explained away Obama’s inability to understand the “optics” of the presidency, said he was serious about putting a halt to the terrorism of ISIS, and said that Twitter was a helpful tool for the White House.

Supposed Muslim “cleric” Anjam Choudary, a man who is often seen on TV as the leading voice of Muslims in Britain, thought it would be hilarious to make a joke about 9/11 and other famous terror attacks on CNN on Tuesday.

On September 2 Choudary was doing a sound check for the TV engineers before appearing on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” when he stopped counting in the normal, sequential way and began to say the numbers 9/11, 7/7, 3/11—all well known as dates of deadly terror attacks in the west.

When they finally got on the air, host Brian Stelter asked Choudary, “Is this all some sort of joke to you?”

CNN Quietly Changes Story that DOJ Held Back Ferguson Robbery Video

Looks like CNN is trying to cover Obama’s rear end by quietly changing its story about how the DOJ’s Eric Holder told the Ferguson police to withhold the video showing slain teen Michael Brown robbing a local store. It now appears that Obama wanted riots to happen in Ferguson.

Early on Saturday a conflict between the local police in riot plagued Ferguson, Missouri and the federal government came to light over the release of the video of the store robbery that allegedly depicts slain teen Michael Brown robbing a local store only hours before he was killed by police. CNN reported that the feds delayed the release of the footage by telling the local cops not to release it to the public. The police eventually released it anyway, but only after nearly a week of rioting.

One of the reasons the police finally released the video was because the community was calling for more transparency from police. But CNN initially reported that Obama’s Department of Justice told them not to release the video.

Friday’s release of the store-theft video by Ferguson police occurred over the objections of federal authorities, a law enforcement official told CNN on Saturday.

Ferguson police had wanted to release the video Thursday but held off when the U.S. Justice Department asked them not to, arguing that doing so would increase tensions in the community, the source said.

But Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson released it Friday, announcing for the first time that Brown was suspected of stealing cigars from Ferguson Market and Liquor shortly before noon August 9, minutes before Wilson encountered and shot him.

The above paragraphs appeared in a story CNN posted on Saturday morning. But later in the day this rhetoric was mysteriously removed from the CNN story without any note that it had been done. But the DOJ involvement in the video release was mentioned by several other sources, many citing CNN. So, we know it was in the story at one time.

Actor and comedian Paul Rodriguez appeared on CNN and shocked those on the panel with his patriotic, American ideals and said that the USA has no reason whatsoever to keep all these hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens who are streaming across our border for Obama’s free handouts and his promise of amnesty.

He directly addressed some bleeding heart, anti-American Catholic priest saying, “Let us say we allow these seven thousand children to stay here and grow up American and go to our schools, what do we say to the sixty thousand that are going to follow them? And the hundred and fifty thousand, can we house them all father? De we have the whereabouts? We can’t even take care of our own kids here now!”

Mr. Rodriguez is 100 percent right, folks. But it’s too bad that CNN has like 25 viewers now and no one saw this appearane!

Old Clinton hack Donna Brazile has a message for her readers: the GOP civil war is over and the Tea Party won. While Brazile is usually fully expected to be typically and wholly wrong in her left-wing proclamations and while asking a liberal what is going on with conservatives is usually a waste of time, like the stopped clock, Brazile got this one more or less right.

Brazile piece written her piece for CNN notes that the whole of Washington was surprised by GOP strongman Eric Cantor’s primary loss and is shocked that he will not be returning to Congress even as he thought he was headed to a big primary win and looking forward to more and more power if not the Speaker’s chair itself.

After chronicling Cantor’s loss Brazile also touched on the run off that establishment Republican Thad Cochran has been reduced to in Mississippi and pointed out that Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell only won his own primary in Kentucky by edging closer to Tea Party principles during his campaign.

‘Shark Tank’ Repeats Get More Ratings Than All of CNN’s Programming

Despite the much ballyhooed tinkering by chief Jeff Zucker to halt CNN’s ratings decline, the cable news network racked up its third-lowest month on record for January. Things were so bad that even repeats of the reality show Shark Tank airing on CNBC beat CNN in the ratings.

This January, on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the nation’s oldest financial cable news network, began airing repeats of the ABC reality show Shark Tank, where applicants vie for funding from a panel of venture capitalists. CNBC’s reruns topped every show on CNN as well as every show but The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC.

The reruns of the reality/game show came in at number 6 in the ratings race behind four Fox News shows, The O’Reilly Factor, The Five, The Kelly File and Special Report With Bret Baier, with Maddow’s show on MSNBC coming it at fifth place. But Shark Tank swamped every single CNN show on the schedule.

When a CNN Sports Dolt Tries to Explain Chicago’s Gun Problem With Laughable Results

CNN sports writer LZ Granderson tried to write a serious column about Chicago’s gun ban laws and only ended up making himself look foolish for the effort. This is what happens when sports dorks try to think on subjects outside their silly, inconsequential world of sports.

With his columns, “When a City’s Gun Laws Get Shot Down,” it seems that Granderson was trying desperately to make sense of the failure of Chicago’s gun ban to keep the city safe and it appears that he is supportive of taking away American’s Second Amendment rights merely by local government fiat. Yet even as he seemed to support gun bans, nearly every word he wrote proves that gun bans don’t work.

Sadly, after reading his mush of a column, it is almost impossible to figure out what they heck this guy’s point is supposed to be. but it does show that he is not capable of logically thinking through a problem and writing a cogent discussion of that issue.

Mike Huckabee did not say a single thing that was outrageous during his remarks to an RNC winter meeting on January 23. But that won’t stop the Old Media complex from lying about his comments and desperately trying to spin his comments as some sort of attack on women. It was, in fact, just the opposite.

Left-wing spin artists that pretend to be journalists, like CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and Dana Bash, immediately launched into an attack on Huckabee as if he was disparaging women or attacking their rights–because, you know, Republicans hate women, and all.

Bash most especially immediately lied about Huckabee’s comments, mischaracterizing them so badly that one would think she didn’t actually hear the comments and is only regurgitating the lies spread by extremists that she picked up on the Internet.

It’s bad enough that “reporter” Bash followed the left-wing attack machine’s lie-filled narrative but it’s worse because she was actually in the audience and heard Huckabee first hand.

This so-called reporter jumped to her Twitter account and wrote the following: “At Rnc meeting @MikeHuckabee just said fed govt shouldn’t help women w who can’t control their libido w birth control.”

CNN’s Brit Twit Piers Morgan Says 1st Amend. Should Only Cover Speech HE Likes

British twit Piers Morgan, host of one of CNN’s lowest rated evening talk shows, has made it clear many times that he is wholly ignorant about the U.S. Constitution. Usually he reveals his ignorance about the Second Amendment, but this time he’s shown his stupidity about the First saying that freedom of speech shouldn’t cover speech he doesn’t like.

Foreign citizen Morgan was naturally responding to the current controversy over comments made by Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson. Morgan says that Robertson shouldn’t be allowed to have his freedom of speech or his choice of religion. Robertson should only be allowed to say what Piers Morgan thinks is proper.

Morgan idiotically jumped to his over used Twitter feed to reveal his latest nonsense saying, “Just as the 2nd Amendment shouldn’t protect assault rifle devotees, so the 1st Amendment shouldn’t protect vile bigots. #PhilRobertson.”

It is painfully clear that this interloper from England has never read the U.S. Constitution and doesn’t understand it. I guess the “ye olde English language” it was written in is too complicated for Morgan to grasp.

Sarah Palin does it again, this time sticking her finger in the gun-hating Morgan’s eye with a photo of herself with a gun–and a dead animal! Priceless.

Gay Marriage Makes Just ANY Relationship OK

One of the arguments that people that oppose gay marriage used to deny legal marriage for gays is that allowing gays to marry opens the door for every other sort of “marriage”–marrying gays, multiple partners, animals, even children–and this eventually destroys society. Gays denied that their support of gay marriage created that slippery slope toward destroying marriage and the family, but a recent CNN report seems to make the lie to that denial.

On October 26, CNN published a story on Polyamory–the practice of having three, four or more people together in a “marriage”–with the practice being mostly portrayed as a perfectly normal, even desirable, form of “marriage.”

As America has argued about gay marriage, homosexuals claimed that they were not looking to destroy marriage as an institution nor were they trying to eliminate the nuclear family. They claimed that all they cared about were their “rights” to “love who they love.”

Of course, no one ever said they should not be allowed to “love who they love.” That argument was a red herring used to tug at heartstrings. In fact, all of the arguments gays used were emotional arguments and this is the reason that foes of gay marriage said that allowing gay marriage is just one more step toward legalizing just any sort of relationship, that gay marriage was a slippery slope to a host of illicit “relationships.”

CNN’s late evening TV host and British citizen Piers Morgan is slamming America’s gun owners again calling them “heartless gun nut bastards” on Twitter.

Morgan got angry when he discovered that Second Amendment supporters were trying to create a “guns save lives day” to be held on December 14.

It so happens that December 14 was the day that a crazed murderer killed 26 teachers and children at the Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.

“Imagine the effect this ‘Guns Save Lives Day’ campaign will have on those poor Sandy Hook families, on that first anniversary,” Morgan Tweeted in outrage.

I hate to agree even a little with this insufferable, historically ignorant, Constitution-hating Brit, but he has a bit of a point, here.

Democrat leader Senator Harry Reid said that he has no interest in funding cancer treatments for kids today in a press conference about the ongoing government shut down fight. Instead of treating kids with cancer, Reid prefers to have a political tool to use against Republicans.

In the presser CNN’s Dana Bash asked a very poignant question making Reid look like the partisan hack he is–purely by accident I’m sure–when she asked about funding cancer treatments for kids who have been turned away at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

As it happens, about 200 patients a day will be turned away from the NIH because of the government shut down.

The Republicans have offered a separate funding bill to fund the NIH but the Democrats in the Senate and President Obama have refused to allow this bill to pass. So, the truth is that it is the Democrats refusing to allow these kids to get their cancer treatments.

Dana Bash pointed this out to Sen. Reid. “But if you could help one child who has cancer, why wouldn’t you do it?,” she asked.

Reid coldly replied, “why would we wanna do that?”

Rouhani Interview Row: CNN Admits Using Iranian Translator But Says no Mistranslation Occurred

CNN recently made news when it reported that in a break with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, new Iranian President Hassan Rouhani admitted that the Holocaust actually occurred during WWII. Now Iranian authorities are claiming that CNN mistranslated their president’s words. To muddy the waters further CNN admits they used an Iranian government translator and didn’t have their own translators for the interview. Nonetheless, the cabler maintains that its translation is accurate.

According to the FARS News Agency, a government-run news service, CNN “fabricated” the Iranian president’s remarks about the Holocaust.

FARS says that Rouhani did not even use the word “Holocaust,” but instead said “historical event,” and therefore didn’t really recognize it as CNN claims.

CNN Anchor Says Founding Fathers Would Support Obamacare Because ‘It’s a Law’ Or Something

CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin is aghast that Republicans would try to defund Obamacare and she is sure that the founding fathers would support Obama’s signature healthcare law because, well, “it’s a law.”

During a September 19 segment of CNN Newsroom, Baldwin said, “Congress passes a law, in this case Obamacare, and then some of its members turn around and essentially try to sabotage it. Again, I repeat, it’s a law. Certainly not the way the Founding Fathers maybe drew this thing up.”

So, the founders would not oppose Obamacare because it is a foregone conclusion since it is already a law?

Baldwin needs to do a bit of reading. The very founders that she claimed would never have opposed something that had already became law are the same founders that generated one of our Republic’s earliest Constitutional crises when the John Adams administration (our second president and a founding father) passed the Alien and Sedition laws that made it illegal to oppose the government and Thomas Jefferson (our third president and a founding father) opposed Adams, used it as a central theme in his run against Adams and won the presidency where upon he repealed the offensive law.

But for all his TV experience, Hecht is experienced in another area; donating to Democrats.

Don Lemon of CNN has a perfect last name. He’s known for being quite a half-wit on the air and he didn’t help himself out much with his latest foray into the absurd when he told a guest that because he’s white, he can’t understand anything. How’s that song go… “we got to keep ‘em separated.”

Lemonhead had Dallas radio host Ben Ferguson on during his July 22 CNN bore-fest and Ferguson noted that sometimes women feel a bit over cautious when young black males or young white males are around them on the streets. Well, this was too much for Donny.

Now, remember, Ferguson was saying that all women feel a bit ill-at-ease when they are alone and men they don’t know are around them when they are in secluded spots. Leman turned it into a race question, saying: “If you think it’s equal, and I don’t mean to call names, but I think you’re sadly naive.”

“Her dedication to that type of journalism is what makes it so exciting to announce that she and her production company are joining the Al Jazeera America team,” Al Shihabi said.

A new poll on newspapers and television news shows that Americans’ confidence in the news industry continues to erode in this era of mass communications, reaching a low not seen since 2007.

The Gallup polling firm finds that trust in newspapers has fallen to 23 percent. This is down from 25 percent in 2012 and 28 percent in 2011.

The previous low was recorded in 2007 when trust in newspapers reached 22 percent.

Trust in newspapers has undergone steady erosion since its 1979 high of 51 percent, Gallup reports.

Television news fares no better in the estimation of those polled by Gallup. Trust in TV news tied that of newspapers with 23 percent saying they trust TV news sources. This is down from a 1993 high of 46 percent–when Gallup first began asking about it.

Pelley told Deadline Hollywood that Fox might have perhaps as few as “200,000 viewers.”

Deadline asked Pelley what he thought of the cable news outlets that cater to “just one segment of the political spectrum in their reporting.”

“Certainly. It’s no surprise,” Pelley replied. “Fox is associated with the right and MSNBC is associated with the left and they’ve done that because it is a business model. It’s a strategy. CNN Criticized for Celebrating Palestinian Terrorist

CNN is drawing criticism for a feature story on a Palestinian soccer player who is in the news for boycotting Israel. The cable network is being criticized because its glowing treatment of the Palestinian protester neglects to mention that he is a member of the terror group Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). In fact, the piece seems to reject any claim that he is a member of the group.

CNN’s fawning treatment of Palestinian soccer player Mahmoud Sarsak begins with sympathetic descriptions of his hunger strike against Israeli authorities.

The piece then goes on to give Sarsak the space to complain about how the professional soccer league, the UEFA, has decided to hold its latest tournament in Israel, allowed him to discuss his (failed) boycotting efforts, and then went into a long, one-sided description of the “abuse” Sarsak claims he suffered at the hands of the Israelis while under arrest for suspicion of links to terror groups.

The long CNN piece is reported entirely from the soccer player’s perspective and readers would be excused for going away from the piece imagining that Sarsak is innocent of Israel’s charges that he is a member of any terror group. The piece paints Sarak as a victim.

Former CNN on-air anchor Soledad O’Brien was chosen by students to deliver Harvard’s 2013 Class Day speech–an address delivered to seniors the day before graduation. O’Brien had two important bits of wisdom to pass on to the graduates: “Most people are idiots” and “don’t take anyone’s advice.”

O’Brien said that the “idiots” advice was passed on to her from her own Cuban-born mother. The former CNNer, who was fired by the cable network late in February, said that with time she found her mother was right, most people are idiots because, “instead of building you up, they will tell you why you will fail.”

Following that line of thought, O’Brien then went on to further build graduate’s self-esteem saying that they should follow their “hearts” instead of taking advice from others.

Washington Bridge Collapse Being Used to Push Big Government

By all accounts the Interstate 5 bridge collapse in Washington State was a result of an over sized truck load as opposed to “failing infrastructure.” But a plea for greater federal spending figured prominently in many reports on the accident nonetheless.

Naturally, many on the left stampeded immediately to decrying “austerity,” or accused the Republicans of “endangering lives” by opposing big government, while still others blamed the sequester as news of the collapse spread.

In the progressive media, infrastructure also featured prominently in coverage.

CNN, for instance, injected Obama’s call for higher spending in its piece. USA Today also claimed that the bridge collapse would “raise questions about the nation’s infrastructure.” Reuters focused on a call for “public officials to invest in infrastructure and upgrade bridges.” The Associated Press joined Reuters in that focus. And, not to be outdone, Bloomberg said, “The bridge’s collapse put a new focus on the nation’s failing infrastructure, an issue that President Barack Obama has highlighted in his second-term agenda.”

Sadly, the Voice of America also used the collapse as a means to talk about Obama’s spending wants.

On the May 19 broadcast of CNN’s State of the Union, host Candy Crowley said that Obama was late in identifying the attacks in Benghazi as terrorism quite contrary to what she said during the Presidential debates late last year.

As Crowley questioned White House spokesman Dan Pfeiffer, she pressed him on whether or not the President was aware of the Benghazi talking points being written and re-written by the Department of State and the intel community, re-writes that eventually eliminated any mention that the attacks were perpetrated by terrorists.

In reply, Pfeiffer blithely told Crowley that “no president” would get involved in writing talking points like that.

Crowley went on to point out that Obama was late in calling it terror saying, “in an interview on CBS–which we later learned after the election–but a week and a half after Susan Rice was on [the Sunday shows calling the attack a reaction to a Youtube video] he did say he wasn’t sure if it was a terrorist attack.”

Pfeiffer the somewhat quixotically replied that, “no one was sure at that point.”

Crowley countered that saying “well, no the president, first of all in Libya they were sure of it and the CIA seemed pretty sure of it!”

CNN’s chief anti-gun zealot Piers Morgan may have been loathe to admit it, but this IRS scandal seems to validate some of his detractor’s distrust of government.

During his evening show on May 16, Morgan’s guest was magician Penn Jillette and the discussion turned to the admission by the Internal Revenue Service that it had misused its offices to intimidate President Obama’s opponents. Morgan seemed to ruefully come to understand that this abuse of power lends credence to those that say the government cannot be trusted.

“I’ve had some of the gun, pro-gun lobbyists on here, saying to me, ‘Well, the reason we need to be armed is because of tyranny from our own government,’ and I’ve always laughed at them. And I’ve always said ‘don’t be so ridiculous, your own government won’t turn itself on you.’ But, actually, when you look at this–this has nothing to do with guns–but actually this is vaguely tyrannical behavior by the American government. I think what the IRS did is bordering on tyrannical behavior, I think what the Department of Justice has done, actually, to the AP, is bordering on tyrannical behavior.”

We might recall that Piers Morgan was skeptical of Breitbart’s own Ben Shapiro for making just that point earlier this year.

Obama Has ‘No Knowledge’ of ANY of These Scandals? What DOES He Know?

May 14, 2013 | Filed Under ABC, Anti-Americanism, Associated Press, Barack Obama, CBS, CNN, Congress, Conservatives, Crime, Democrats/Leftists, Ethics, Fox News, GOP, Government, IRS, Journalism, Liberals, Media, Media Bias, MSNBC, NBC, NPR, President, Progressives, Reuters, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

Obama and his flapping-mouthed flacks keep saying with each new scandal that President Obama had “no knowledge” of any of these scandals. They claim that others are responsible and he is innocent.

He didn’t know about Benghazi, he didn’t know about the IRS’ attacks on Tea Party groups, he didn’t know of the DOJ’s violation of freedom of the press, he didn’t know… well, apparently he didn’t know of anything.

So… then… what DOES he know? About ANYTHING?

Soledad O’Brien: You White People Are Afraid of Talking Race

-By Warner Todd Huston

Former CNN host Soledad O’Brien recently said how tired she is of white people telling her that her TV shows on race are “too divisive.” In reply she tells white people that they just don’t understand race issues. She also says that only white people ever say that all Americans should consider themselves just Americans.

The recently fired CNN host made these remarks at Harvard University where she was awarded a distinguished visiting fellowship at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education.

O’Brien was critical of “white people” that complained about her shows on race saying, “People would sometimes, when I give speeches, stand up and say, ‘You know I think your black America documentaries is divisive. You know, I think like, you know, listen, we shouldn’t think of ourselves as African-American. We’re Americans and everybody should stop separating themselves out,.”
