VIDEO: Fox News’ Shep Smith Laments How America Will ‘Ruin Cuba’

Shep Smith is at it again, this time he was heard on his Fox News show lamenting how America will “ruin” Cuba now that Obama is opening up diplomatic relations with that island nation. No, seriously. That is exactly what he said. This idiot really needs to go work for the commies at MSNBC.

So, we have a nation that has been oppressed for 50 years, a nation where even toothpaste and toilet paper is a luxury that most there can’t afford. We have a nation where any questioning of the government results in torture and murder. But with the possibility of the US initiating closer relations with that beleaguered nation, Shep Smith is now worried that contact with the USA will be bad for the Cuban people? Really, Shep?!

After sonorously noting how he paid $4 for a liter of his favorite Cuban booze last time he visited there, Shep’s cohost noted that there will be an “onrush” of American businesses that will want to get down into the Cuban market… though I don’t know why anyone would assume there even is a Cuban market or that Cubans have money to spend.

Bias Du Jour: The Media Dubs Sydney Terrorist a ‘Self-Styled Cleric’ to Distance Him From Islam

As the dust is still settling around the hostage taking incident in Sydney, Australia, several things are already known. We know that the hostage taker is a Muslim terrorist. But in an effort to absolve Islam, the media is employing some rather interesting rhetoric. In order to distance this terrorist from Islam, the media is calling him a “self-styled cleric.”

On Sunday (Monday Sydney time) a gunman stormed a cafe in Sydney, one of the nation’s biggest cities in the state of New South Wales. At one point during the standoff that developed with police, the terrorist forced some of the people in the cafe to hold a black ISIS flag against the window, thereby fully describing his cause as terrorism.

The man has been identified as a Muslim named Haron Monis, a man who came to Australia from Iran for political asylum. He has a record of terrorist-like activities having been arrested in the past for harassing families of fallen Australian soldiers. Monis is a suspect in several murders in cases separate from the hostage-taking incident and he has a record of sexual assault and petty theft.

Even NYT Notes That Voter ID Laws DO NOT ‘Suppress’ Minority Voters

The left is all balled up in knots over the false claim that voter ID laws are meant specifically to “suppress” the vote of minorities and to swing elections to the GOP. This is a lie. And even The New York Times essentially agrees that this is a lie.

Firstly, the point of voter ID laws is not to “suppress” anything other than illegal votes. If a white guy is not properly registered and goes to the polling place without a valid ID, he shouldn’t vote any more than an African American or an Hispanic.

Now, the argument the loony left makes to “prove” that voter ID laws affect only minorities is that, according to these loons, liberal minorities are too stupid to figure out how to get an approved ID so that they can vote and will therefore be denied the right to vote.

They claim that they have “studies” that prove that many states have hundreds of thousands of minorities who lack the proper ID and so are being disenfranchised by voter ID laws.

But now even Nate Cohn from The New York Times proves that this claim is bunkum.

Dana Perino Wrongly Claims Obama ‘Has The Prosecutorial Discretion’ To Issue His Amnesty

One of the claims that the left is erroneously using to justify Obama’s new amnesty policy is that he has the “prosecutorial discretion” to do what he is doing and on Thursday Fox News’ Dana Perino agreed with the left that Obama does, indeed, have that power.

Perino appeared on the November 20 edition of Fox News’ The Five where she insisted that Obama does have the power to issue his amnesty. But she also noted that it was “strange” that the first major thing that Obama did after the elections was to “poison the well” with his amnesty policy even after he claimed that the midterms meant that voters want Democrats and Republicans to work together.

Perino went on to claim that Obama has neatly boxed in his Republican opponents because they will not be able to quickly settle the constitutional legality of Obama’s order nor will they be able to easily tell five million suddenly legal immigrants that they actually aren’t legal.

To Aid Obama, Old Media Establishment Took a Pass on Gruber Videos

The man who was trying to shop the Gruber videos to the media was rebuffed by the Old Media Establishment repeatedly because they had no interest in highlighting the fact that Obama and his Obamacare cohorts were lying to the American people about the President’s signature healthcare law.

Howard Kurtz tracked down the man who was trying to get the media to notice the string of videos showing Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber telling audiences that the American voters are “stupid” and saying that the administration lied repeatedly about what was in Obamacare and how it would work all in a desperate attempt to get the President’s take over of our national healthcare system passed into law.

Kurtz tracked down the man, Rich Weinstein, and found a man who doesn’t himself want to become the story. In fact, he wouldn’t even supply Kurtz with a photo of himself.

Jezebel Employees Charge Racism After White Outsider Picked as New Editor Over African American Insider

With the announcement that Emma Carmichael is joining Gawker-owned, Celebrity Gossip site Jezebel.com as editor-in-chief, employees are a bit curious why an outsider was picked over their favored long-time deputy editor for the job?

A piece by Capital’s Peter Sterne notes that long-time deputy editor Dodai Stewart was passed over for editor-in-chief even though Jezebel employees really like her and had hoped she would get the job.

Stewart, an African American, was hired in the early days of the site by founding editor Anna Holmes. But her role has grown, especially in the past year since now former editor-in-chief Jessica Cohen had been flying back and forth between her home in Chicago and Gawker Media’s New York offices.

After Six Years Obama Adviser Valerie Jarrett Being Targeted By Media

After the shellacking that President Obama received at the hands of voters in the midterm elections, his chief advisor, Valerie Jarrett is finally in the hot seat. Over the weekend, two articles attacked her as all that is wrong with the White House with one piece slamming her the “Obama whisperer” and another one flat out advising Obama to fire her.

Jarrett has been with the Obamas since their beginning in Chicago and has become the President’s spokesperson, closest adviser, and, some say, the real decision-maker in the White House.

This ultimate insider has been criticized by conservatives for years, but now it seems even liberals have about had enough of her.

For years many have been afraid to cross her–and for good reason–but with this political drubbing, it looks like at least a few in the media have finally decided to speak up in opposition to Jarrett’s iron fisted rule behind the scenes.

Despite Rabble-Rousers Urging Ferguson Citizens to Vote, Few Bothered

After months of rioting, one of the main themes that many left-wing rabble-rousers have been pushing on residents of Ferguson is to register to vote so that they can “change” their local government. But despite all the rhetoric, few Ferguson residents bothered to vote last Tuesday.

A big criticism of Ferguson, Missouri’s government is that there are “too many white people” in it. Activists have maintained that only a slate full of black candidates can properly govern the largely black population of the city. So, to throw out the few whites on the council, activists have urged citizens to register to vote and usher in a utopian black government.

But despite all the caterwauling of activists, it appears that Ferguson residents still weren’t motivated very much to go register and vote.

A few days ago, First Lady Michelle Obama was in Southern Illinois and during her speech she noted that Illinois leads the nation in job creation. This is a flat out lie. Not just political spin, but based solely on statistics, a straight out lie. And where was the media? Practically silent.

Obama was in Illinois to stump for Democrat Congresswoman Cheri Bustos who we hope is beaten by Republican candidate Bobby Schilling in the Illinois 17th District.

According to the Quad City Times, Obama praised Illinois for being a job creator saying, “”And we are here to keep this state in the right direction. And this state is leading the nation in job creation.”

New Anti-Media Campaign Debuts in North Carolina to Defeat Kay Hagan

An interesting new TV ad campaign that targets the left-wing media instead of just a political party or candidate has begun in North Carolina as Election Day bears down upon the nation.

The TV spot is ostensibly an ad asking voters to defeat Democrat incumbent Senator Kay Hagan, but the main message is anti-Old media as opposed to strictly anti-Kay Hagan.

A similar ad is running in New Mexico and both are sponsored by a PAC named the Conservatism War Chest. The PAC’s spokesman, Mike Flynn, notes that conservatives can’t win until the media is defeated. (Disclosure: I’ve known Mike for years and have worked with him at Bretbart.com. But I’ve never discussed this effort with him.)

“Conservatives can never gain final victory until they confront the problem of news organizations who are the real opposition party in America,” Flynn said. “This content-heavy spot puts before the public case studies that establish these organizations as partisan not journalistic organizations that are dedicated to activism, not the fearless pursuit of the truth.”

Here is how the PAC explains its efforts:

According to a new Pew Research Poll, 49 percent of Americans are following the Ebola story “very closely.” This was, according to the pollsters, “a far greater share than interest in news about ISIS airstrikes (29%), U.S. economic news (26%) and the upcoming congressional elections (16%).”

Americans are clearly worried over Obama’s failed response to the Ebola health crisis.

The media is drowning in major cases of left-wing bias, we all know. But small examples of left-wingery pop up all the time in articles and a recent piece in the The Week gives us a perfect example of how the media slips in small digs at the right even in articles that are essentially supposed to be non-political.

On October 20, Nicholas Warino posted a piece in The Week that was supposed to be about the new scientific discoveries that might lead to 1,000-year life spans for we mere mortals.

But while trying to lighten the mood in an article that is supposed to be essentially about science, in his fifth paragraph, Warino injected a little bit of left-wing partisan nonsense. (My bold)

The left went wild pushing the Deadspin.com story until… well, until the Deadspin story turned out to be false in every way.

Gardner is currently a Congressman in the Centennial State but he decided to run against incumbent Colorado Senator Mark Udall–a Democrat. At first the left didn’t worry over much about Gardner because they assumed he couldn’t beat the long time incumbent Democrat. But recently Gardner has surged ahead of Udall in the polls, seriously worrying the left.

The Astroturf Attempt to Destroy Rush Limbaugh Exposed

An attempt to destroy Rush Limbaugh through the intimidation of his advertisers has been exposed as the work of a small handful of activists at least one of whom works for the George Soros-funded, astroturf outfit Media Matters for America.

The effort to destroy Limbaugh dubbed “Stop Rush” was started in 2012 by Angelo Carusone, the vice president of the Soros-funded Media Matters website. Carusone intended the effort to be an adjunct to President Obama’s re-election campaign.

The Stop Rush campaign is presented to Limbaugh’s advertisers as an army of regular Americans incensed by Limbaugh’s purportedly “racist” on-air comments. This grassroots army is then purportedly enlisted to frighten advertisers on Limbaugh’s radio show into dumping their sponsorship.

But far from being an army of regular Americans joined together for a cause, an investigation into the group has shown that it is really just the efforts of 10 people. Joining paid media astroturfer Carusone is a Kent State University Professor and several women who seem intertwined with each other.

Ansel Adams made himself and our national parks famous for photographing the natural beauty he found in the great American west. Now, in this land of “freedom and liberty,” Obama plans to prevent any more Ansel Adams by forcing photographers to get permits to be allowed to photograph our parks.

The stunning black and white photos Adams took of the American west, especially Yosemite National Park, are the very ideal of natural beauty preserved by the snap of his lens. Adams roamed freely in this land of the free and captured images that have been beloved by naturalists all around the world.

But now Obama is planning to put a stranglehold on new Ansel Adams by controlling who is *allowed* to take photos in our national parks with a new “permit” system. Worse, Obama plans to charge up to $1,500 for these permits according to a report by the Associated Press.

Wisc. Dem. Candidate for Gov. Plagiarized Her Jobs Plan And Many Other Positions on Her Website

It has been discovered that the Democrat candidate for Governor of Wisconsin plagiarized her entire jobs plan after claiming that jobs and the economy was the centerpiece of her campaign. As the national media ignores the story this is another fine example of “if a conservative did it.” We know that if a Republican had done this the story would be leading every newscast and filling front pages of every newspaper.

Wisconsin Democrat Mary Burke has cavorted across the state claiming that jobs and the economy is the centerpiece of her campaign and has pushed her “jobs plan” as the solution that Wisconsin needs. But now it has been revealed that Burke had little to do with this oh-so-important plan and that her staff wrote the whole thing. But, worse, we find that her staff just plagiarized the plan from other Democrat candidates across the country.

The whole plan is a mishmash of cut-and-paste passages from elsewhere instead of any sort of comprehensive and original work.

Burke has fired the staffer responsible for this, but what is clear is that Burke had no real hand in creating this vaunted plan in the first place and was totally unaware that her staffers were just stealing it all from others.

By joining CNN as an on-air commentator, former Obama Press Secretary Jay Carney has passed through the revolving door between the Obama administration and the media, but he is still Obama’s man and in an interview with his new employer he noted that the TV networks are to blame for Obama not being allowed to make more TV speeches. It is lain that Carney will continue to be a bind flack for Obama even on CNN.

Carney stepped down from his post as White House press secretary in June and by September it was announced he was joining CNN as a news commentator. But Carney rose up as an Obama flack one more time in a new interview released on the eve of his debut on the cable network.

In the Wednesday interview Carney explained away Obama’s inability to understand the “optics” of the presidency, said he was serious about putting a halt to the terrorism of ISIS, and said that Twitter was a helpful tool for the White House.

A report from operatives on the ground during the 2012 terror attacks in Behghazi, Libya claims that the top CIA official in the region delayed the rescue attempts that could have saved the lives of the four Americans killed during the attacks, one of whom was our Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens.

The reports say that this was a “stand down” order, something that all democrats in Congress and the Obama administration claim was never ordered during the attacks.

Fox News’ Bret Baier recently spoke to three security operatives stationed at the secret CIA annex in Benghazi who were involved in the incident. The trio claim that they were ordered not to respond as soon as they could have to save American lives.

These men say they were prevented from rescuing the Americans ultimately killed by terrorists in Benghazi.

The three private security contractors, Kris “Tanto” Paronto, Mark “Oz” Geist, and John “Tig” Tiegen, spoke at length to the Fox News reporter about their experiences during that terrible day. All three said they were ready to go to Ambassador Stevens’ rescue.

One of the operatives, Kris Paronto, a former Army Ranger said, “Five minutes, we’re ready. It was thumbs up, thumbs up, we’re ready to go.”

But the three were told to stand down by a CIA operative they refer to as “Bob.”

At a ceremony to appoint Texas lawyer Shaaril Zafar as the State Department’s “special representative to Muslim communities,” Secretary of State John Kerry claimed that the Bible commands us to help “Muslim-majority” countries to protect themselves from global warming. So, where are the media to whine that Kerry is trying to set up a “theocracy”?

“Our faiths are inextricably linked on any number of things that we must confront and deal with in policy concepts today. Our faiths are inextricably linked on the environment. For many of us, respect for God’s creation also translates into a duty to protect and sustain his first creation, Earth, the planet,” Kerry blurted out.

“Confronting climate change is, in the long run, one of the greatest challenges that we face, and you can see this duty or responsibility laid out in Scriptures clearly, beginning in Genesis. And Muslim-majority countries are among the most vulnerable. Our response to this challenge ought to be rooted in a sense of stewardship of Earth, and for me and for many of us here today, that responsibility comes from God,” he asserted.

‘The Atlantic’ Says Ferguson Riots White People’s Fault

Hey, you racist, black-murdering, stupid, heatless white people, The Atlantic wants you to know that the riots in Ferguson are all your fault because you don’t care… or something like that.

The liberal rag has lighted on the worst, most rote left-wing apologia for rioting that can be imagined essentially telling whites that they should excuse the riots, that blacks are totally in the right for destroying their own neighborhoods, and that the reason it happens is because stupid, racist, moron white people only talk to other stupid, racist, moron white people.

The Atlantic first doles out the many polls that show how whites and blacks differ in their reaction to the riots in Ferguson as well as in how police interact with the public, and the shooting of Michael Brown itself. The polls the magazine cited show that whites are a bit less concerned than blacks are over the issues and that blacks view the Ferguson case as emblematic of how cops mistreat all black people everywhere.

The reasons for this are two fold, according to columnist Robert P. Jones: Whites are racist against young black men and whites self-segregate and don’t talk to blacks in order to understand why blacks feel the way they do.

Ferguson: We’ve Seen Enough to Know That Mike Brown Was a Thug, Cop Innocent

UPDATED BELOW with final verdict

I held off on writing a whole lot about Ferguson for the reason that I had no idea what happened and for many days there was no way to determine anything. But now it is beginning to look like the cop is innocent of “murder,” that teenager Michael Brown was a thug, and that the protesters are all 100% in the wrong.

New reports are finally making their way out of the morass in Ferguson and revealing that police officer Darren Wilson was attacked through his cruiser window by the hulking, thuggish Michael Brown who may have struggled with the smaller officer for control of his service pistol.

There is also new evidence that the police have upwards to a dozen witnesses who substantiate the officer’s version of events.

Today evidence was reported that officer Wilson suffered a broken eye socket in the incident which substantiates that Brown did attack him.

Looks like CNN is trying to cover Obama’s rear end by quietly changing its story about how the DOJ’s Eric Holder told the Ferguson police to withhold the video showing slain teen Michael Brown robbing a local store. It now appears that Obama wanted riots to happen in Ferguson.

Early on Saturday a conflict between the local police in riot plagued Ferguson, Missouri and the federal government came to light over the release of the video of the store robbery that allegedly depicts slain teen Michael Brown robbing a local store only hours before he was killed by police. CNN reported that the feds delayed the release of the footage by telling the local cops not to release it to the public. The police eventually released it anyway, but only after nearly a week of rioting.

One of the reasons the police finally released the video was because the community was calling for more transparency from police. But CNN initially reported that Obama’s Department of Justice told them not to release the video.

We know the allegations about Sgt. Bergdahl, of course. We know that some of his fellow soldiers think he is a deserter, not a POW. We know that there were charges that he and his wacko father have been excusers of Islamist terrorism and critics of the United States. We hear that several American soldiers died trying to gain this guy’s freedom. And it appears that some of Bergdahl’s fellow platoon mates tried to write a book about their own experiences with Bergdahl.

A former team leader of Bergdahl’s platoon and one of those trying to shop the book said, “There was no way we were going to sit down and be quiet while Obama was calling him a war hero.”

The retired Sergeant, Evan Buetow, went on saying, “We’re just trying to tell the truth. It’s not my fault this would make Obama look bad.”

‘Meet The Press’ Update: Top Ten Most Left-Biased American Journalists – #4: Chuck Todd, NBC

With NBC’s Chuck Todd on the verge of replacing Dave Gregory as the next host for NBC’s Meet The Press, I am beginning to get hits on my old post on him. This info is all quite true, so read on about just how biased this guy is.

Back in 2010 I created a list of the top ten most left-biased journalists (see the full list at the bottom of this post). Chuck Todd was then the fourth most biased in my list. He is still just as biased and with the rumors that he is about to take over the Sunday show, I thought I’d repost this entry.

Original post…

All week we’ve been exploring America’s ten most left-biased working journalists and now we come to spot number four on the list. And so, for his close attention to pushing the spin and as one of the most active members of the Old Media’s Obama Butt Covering squad, we are pleased to award the number four spot to NBC Political Director Chuck Todd.

Todd is one of those journos that came from Democrat political circles — having worked for Iowa Democrat Senator Tom Harkin’s 1992 presidential run — and then crossed over into the world of “journalism.” With that you just know that he can be as unbiased as the best of them in his reporting. Well, if he can we’ll never know it because so far he has not been. Just the opposite, really.

Todd has done a bang-up job for the left in his journalism career. Likely Todd’s loyalty to the Democrat Party is probably why he felt the need to slam Senator Joe Lieberman last year, for instance. Proving his blindness to real political analysis, Todd claimed that Joe Lieberman was the “polar opposite” of the Senate’s lone socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (officially an “independent”).
