Illinois’ House Reps Have More Wealth Than Average Member of Their Electorate

Illinois’ House Reps Have More Wealth Than Average Member of Their Electorate

(Here is my very first piece over at The Watchdog….)

-By Warner Todd Huston

A recent survey of the wealth of members of Congress revealed that, on average, it would take the combined wealth of 18 American households to equal the wealth of a single member of Congress. While this is an averaged statistic and individual cases vary, a review of the wealth of members of the Illinois delegation to Washington proves the rule rather than the exception.

The January report by OpenSecrets.org found that, “The median net worth of a member of Congress was $1,029,505 in 2013… compared with an average American household’s median net worth of $56,355.”

It is apropos to review what members of Congress are paid as they serve in Washington. Members of the House of Representatives are paid $174,000 a year, a salary that has been frozen in place since 2009. Speakers of the House and majority and minority leaders make a bit more than the average Congressman to befit their higher positions. Members of the House cannot collect a pension until they have served for five years, meaning they’d have to win election three times. Their pensions are never higher than 80 percent of their highest salary and is paid out at retirement age–unless they are still working somewhere in the federal government. In that case, they can’t collect a pension until they are no longer earning a federal salary.

So, what about Illinois? Well, the congressional salary itself certainly puts our representatives in a higher tax bracket than the average citizen of their state. According to information released by the U.S. Census, the median household income of the 13 million some citizens in Illinois is $56,777 annually. That is about 7 percent higher than the national average…

Democrats Next to Move to Unionize Obamacare Doctors

-By Warner Todd Huston

In another sign that our healthcare industry is soon to be just another arm of the Democrat Party, Chicago are Democrat Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky thinks it’s a great idea if doctors unionize.

This will completely end any chance that doctors will care about patients. They will instead become just another uncaring, slipshod union hack that won’t much care about the excellence of his work because he’s protected by union rules. Patients will no longer matter.

Doctors will be just like officious DMV employees. Just like lazy Streets and Sans guys. Like all those little bored, arrogant placemen that work for government.

You, the patient, will no longer matter at all.

Welcome to Obamacare, folks. We’re all the victim of a death panel now.

Occupy Chicago Wants to ‘Collapse American Government’

Retired Palatine teacher, Roger Fraser, who makes nearly $8,000 a month in pension benefits off the backs of the Illinois Taxpayer, says that he wants to “collapse American government.”

These people want to “collapse” this country. They want to destroy it and remake it as an alien, communist abomination.

This is why there should be no sympathy for these Occupy-Whatever idiots. They are not Americans. They hate America. Unlike the Tea Party movement, these Occupy people are anti-American to the core.

Remember, these are the sort of people that Democrats like President Obama and Representative Jan Schakowsky are falling all over themselves to support.

Congresswoman Schakowsky Says The Communist, Maoist, Illiterate, Hate-Filled OWS Protesters Are ‘Ordinary Americans’

Congresswoman Schakowsky Says The Communist, Maoist, Illiterate, Hate-Filled OWS Protesters Are ‘Ordinary Americans’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Apparently, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky of the Illinois 9th District, a sitting Congresscritter, mind you, decided it was a great idea to march with the Occupy-Whatevers on Thursday.

Interestingly, a large contingent of these people sported T-Shits with Che Guevara, Mao Tse-tung, and other communist heroes emblazoned upon them. Guevara, a murderer, coward, and communist, is particularly loved by these useful idiots. But Mao is the greater mass murderer and genocidal maniac, of course.

Regardless of which mass murderer they most love, the fact is that these people hate the USA and everything it stands for an equal amount — maybe even more. And these are the sort of haters that a sitting Congresswoman is keeping company with?

For shame, Congresswoman Schakowsky.

Ill. Rep Shakowsky’s Next Interference in Insurance Industry

Ill. Rep Shakowsky’s Next Interference in Insurance Industry

Ill. Rep Shakowsky’s

The National Tax Payer’s Union has looked into the health care insurance regulation bill introduced by Illinois Congressional District 9 Representative Jan Schakowsky and they find the whole thing wanting…. AND expensive.

The Bill: S. 3078/H.R. 4757, Health Insurance Rate Authority Act of 2010

Annualized Cost: $255 million (first year cost)

Senator Dianne Feinstein (CA) and Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (IL-9) sponsored the Health Insurance Rate Authority Act to help “ensure that people in all states have access to a meaningful [health insurance] rate review process to protect them from unfair increases.” The bill would give the Secretary of Health and Human Services the authority to block increases in health insurance premiums. While 25 states have their own Insurance Commissioners to review and approve or block proposed rate increases, S. 3078 would add a federal level of decision-making to “provide unprecedented authority to block unreasonable premium increases before they are allowed to take effect.”

The bill also establishes a Medical Insurance Rate Authority — a seven member advisory group — charged with prioritizing potentially unreasonable rate increases for review by the Secretary, producing an annual report detailing insurance market behavior, and assigning regulators to each state to review rate increases.

Debate over the bill pits health care reform advocates against state regulators. Consumers Union calls for Congress to pass the Health Insurance Rate Authority Act because “[t]oo often, consumers are left at the mercy of health insurance companies, as many states allow companies to increase rates with little or no oversight.” However, in a recent Politico article, Robert Zirkelbach of America’s Health Insurance Plans says “states have the infrastructure, experience[,] and expertise to review premiums.”

Representative Shakowski Again Refusing to Answer Simple Questions

Representative Shakowski Again Refusing to Answer Simple Questions

-By Warner Todd Huston

Rep. Jan Schakowski has refused over and over to answer the simple question about just where in the Constitution Obamacare’s insurance mandates appear. What part of our nation’s governing document justifies Congress forcing Americans to buy something? Shakowski consistently refuses to answer this seminal question.

John Ruberry of Marathon Pundit once again asked these questions of Rep. Shakowski and, once again, she refused to answer.

Notice how these were not screamed questions, not raucous, right-wing attack dogs here? These videographers comported themselves professionally, did not name call, and asked their questions in a respectful tone. Yet Rep. Shakowski still refused to answer.

It’s time to get rid of this odious, leftist, monstrosity. Vote Joel Pollak in the 9th District!

Go over to Ruberry’s post and see more of the great points he brings up about this most left wing of all members of the House of Representatives.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky: The Most Extreme Left-Winger in Congress

Rep. Jan Schakowsky: The Most Extreme Left-Winger in Congress

According to GovTrack.us, a non-partisan legislative tracking service, Illinois Representative Jan Schakowsky is the most left-wing member of either of the two houses of Congress, based on the bills she co-sponsors. Similarly, the non-partisan National Journal, which measures members of Congress by their voting record, name Schakowsky as the most liberal Democrat in the House of Representatives.

Imagine what this is saying? Jan Shakowsky is even further left than avowed socialist Bernie Sanders who is listed as an “independent” in the Senate. Shakowsky is even further left than the nation’s token socialist!

Joel Pollack For Congress (Ill. 9th District)

Joel Pollak is running (really running in this ad, anyway) for Congress in the Illinois 9th District. That district is in Chicago’s near north and side.

Pollak is running to knock out incumbent socialist Jan Schakowsky, one of the most ideologically extreme left-wingers in the House of Representatives.

Pollak and Schakowsky Spar During Secret Debate at Daily Herald

From the Pollak for Congress campaign (9th District)…

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – The Pollak for Congress campaign has released the following statement:

This afternoon–to our mutual surprise!–Jan Schakowsky and I debated at the offices of the Daily Herald newspaper in Arlington Heights. We were each scheduled to meet with the editorial board, which is deciding which of us to endorse. Little did we know that we would be interviewed at the same time, in the same room!

For nearly 90 minutes, we debated the major issues facing the 9th congressional district and the nation today. It was a great debate! The only problem is that it had an audience of four.

From the Pollak for Congress campaign (9th District)…

NILES, IL- A newly discovered YouTube video reveals the close ties between Jan Schakowsky and Charles Rangel, chair of the House Ways & Means Committee, who is currently facing serious ethics charges.

The video was uploaded by the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS (NLBCA) on March 20, 2010

It contains footage of a speech Schakowsky gave at an NBLCA event on Capitol Hill on March 17, 2010–two weeks after Rangel was forced to take a “leave of absence” as chair of his committee on March 3.

Obama Supporter’s Racism Cop Out

-By Warner Todd Huston

If you want to see the ignorance of the left, below is a good video to see it in. In it a woman that supports Obamacare makes all sorts of accusations that everyone is a racist in a confrontation at a small protest outside of Illinois Representative Jan Schakowsky’s Chicago-area offices. Another portly woman whines about the fact that she might be expected pay for her own healthcare and her equally portly boyfriend calls people names and asks what’s wrong with “a little socialism?”

The video shows that the only people filled with hate, the only ones resorting to name-calling and ignorance are the Obamacare supporters. But the you’re-all-racists lady is the most typical example of the left’s empty-headed line of attack against anyone that dares to nay-say their communist ideas.

One of the ignorant things this woman did was dismiss the Holocaust. It is infuriating, of course, that this chubby chider in purple was so dismissive of the Holocaust because there once was slavery. To her, slavery was worse than the Holocaust. A disgusting display of ignorance, of course. It is also a sad display of ignorance that this woman really thought that her “ancestors” were brought to Evanston, Illinois to work a “plantation.” This foolish woman doesn’t appear to know the history of her own people. There WERE no slave plantations in Evanston, Illinois so it is impossible that her ancestors were brought to Evanston to work plantations for white folks.
