Saying healthcare developments on the hill are anything less than fluid is a statement the deem and pass madame, Louise Slaughter (D., NY) herself would hardly make. However, this would be relying on pragmatic thought, on my part, and these days with the congressional democrats running the hill, pragmatism has been anathema to all things dems, including the political grand daddy of all, the Constitution.
So, on second thought, I’ll leave Rep. Slaughter out of the issue of fluidity, for now. But I will bring her back in on the subject of political strategy, in fact, lets also bring in Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as the two seem to share the same skills sets and a similarly high aptitude in the art and science of political deception.
There are many nuances in politics but when the strategy itself is purposefully moved from the nuance to that which has a big red bull’s eye on its back, it is easy to take the bait and start running in the direction chasing the bulls eye. I have fallen prey to such tactics and before long find myself chasing the allurement of the bulls eye, chasing after it with incredulity that the left could dare be so bold . . . but then it dawned on me.

‘I Will Support and Defend the Constitution of the United States’

“An elective despotism was not the government we fought for; but one in which the powers of government should be so divided and balanced among the several bodies of magistracy as that no one could transcend their legal limits without being effectually checked and restrained by the others.” – James Madison
As the American people stare down the barrel of a Progressive ideological coup in the form of the institution of so-called “healthcare reform,” it is tremendously important that we take heed of how Progressive Democrats are going about achieving their long sought-after goal. To be succinct, it has been an ugly and often times unconstitutional process. But the bribing of Senators with taxpayer monies, the bartering of favors by the White House and the threats of withheld support for Democrat candidates by President Obama himself, pale in comparison to the tactic soon to be employed by House Speaker and über Progressive Nancy Pelosi.
The Self-Executing Rule, better known as “Deem & Pass,” is an unconstitutional procedural tactic that exists in the US House of Representative’s rules. It is stunning that it exists and it is equally as stunning that it was ever allowed to be adopted as a legitimate procedure.

“By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled,
Hence once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard round the world.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
Tension, leading to the deadly confrontation between British troops and an angry mob, better known as the Boston Massacre, had mounted for many months before violence erupted. The city was occupied by British troops tasked with enforcing tax laws. Townspeople worried troops would soon be quartered in their homes. Sailors feared being impressed into service by the Royal Navy; dockyard workers were frustrated by the loss of work to off duty soldiers. A lack of general security, combined with the new laws, fueled the flames of revolution.
Not everyone favored cutting the ties to Britain; however, King George III refused to entertain the concerns of the colonists and left them the choice of submitting unconditionally or declaring their independence.

Keep Calling Washington to Dump This Healthcare Bill

Keep calling D.C., folks. This socialist healthcare bill will be the end of the United States as we know it and will be the beginning of the Euro States of America. We will no longer be a representative republic but a socialist-democratic tyranny.
This bill will destroy America as it is and materially alter the relationship between citizen and government.

Video: Death Panels for Americans, Free Healthcare for Illegals… It’s In There

Big payoffs to unions, free healthcare to illegal aliens, death panels for Americans, limits and rationing to Americans… it’s ALL in the bill (HR 3200).
And remember, folks. We get taxed immediately but none of these wonderful “benefits” actually kick in for FOUR YEARS! So even if you liked this communist paradise you won’t get it for almost half the decade. It makes you wonder… how many dead people will Democrats be responsible for since this bill doesn’t kick in for so long, eh?
These are the things that Democrats want in a nationalized healthcare bill. These are the things that WILL end up passed if ANY part of Obamacare is passed.
This will materially alter the relationship between citizen and government and will put a tombstone over what was the United States of America. If Obamcare passes, the U.S.A. is dead.

When Did Dems Hate Reconciliation? When Bush was Prez, of Course

Senate Democratic Majority leader Harry Reid is spitting more of his venom at the Republicans saying that they should “stop crying” about the Democrats desire to use the “nuclear option” — a process called reconciliation — to pass Obamacare despite that most Americans are against the bill. Reid says that reconciliation is common and that his Party is in control and should be allowed to do whatever it wants.
The thing is, though, Harry Reid was one of the loudest voices against this practice when Bush was in the White House. He and his fellow hypocrites… er, I mean Democrats… made speech after speech denouncing the Republicans as destroying our democracy when THEY wanted to use the process to pass what they wanted passed.
Democrats are hypocrites. Period.

Some Letters Beating Me Up Over My Tea Party Articles

Well I’ve now written six — this makes seven — articles criticizing certain failures of the Tea Party movement thus far. They are all meant to be constructive criticisms, though, not dismissive nor derogatory of them. It’s measured introspection I employ in each of these articles. No name calling, no laughing, no hate. There is just no logical way to construe what I’ve written thus far as hate against the Tea Party movement. But this whole Tea Party thing reveals several things to me. First of all it shows that there is still a lot of passion for them and that is a very good thing. I want the Tea Party groups to succeed and I want them to become a force that can teach the GOP a lesson. The other main thing it shows me is that too many people can’t read for comprehension these days.
The sad thing is that these days even the slightest criticism of a thing is seen by too many as outright hostility. Everyone is so hypersensitive that even a mild criticism meant as an exercise in introspection is seen as an over-the-top attack. It doesn’t just happen on the right, either. Look at what happened to all those Hillary Clinton supporters during the run up to the 2008 presidential elections. The constructive criticism that Hillary fans offered the Democrats was pounded down so hard by the left that many Hillary supporters found themselves aligned — and some permanently — with the side they thought they opposed; the Republicans.
Naturally there’s the name callers and nay sayers always floating around out there. I had one guy, for instance, say, “who asked you for your opinion” of the Tea Parties? This same guy then went on to give me HIS opinion of them evoking the obvious rejoinder of just who the hell asked him for his opinion, anyway? Obviously he wasn’t bright enough to “get” that concept!

The Obama Road to Serfdom

During 2009 we travelled far along the downward economic spiral that Friederich von Hayek in 1944 accurately foresaw for Great Britain under the post-War socialist Labour Party government.
This Wall Street Journal editorial lays out the nauseating hypocrisy of Obama’s phony PR gesture in the direction of fiscal probity.
Only blind faith in the secular religion of socialism can explain Obama’s rush to subordinate every aspect of our lives to the control of socialistic ideologues like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, David Axelrod, Bill Ayers, and Bernadine Dohrn. Obama and his people presume to omniscience, because they have been “educated” by elite socialistic universities. They assume arrogantly that the American people are dunces who can’t find their way to the bathroom without guidance from the intellectuals. In their ideology the only just and desirable society is based upon what Franklin Roosevelt termed security, what in earlier periods of history was called serfdom.

Why This Conservative Wants Harry Reid to Stay Right Now

Of course it would serve Senate Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid and the Democrats right if they found Reid hounded from the Democrat leadership or even from office over his racist comments made about President Obama back during the presidential campaign. After all the faux charges of racism that the left has used to hound Republicans from office, it would be sweet revenge to turn it on Harry Reid. But as a conservative, I do not want to see Reid hounded from his Democrat leadership position and I most especially don’t want him to leave office before the 2010 elections.
Does that sound hard to understand? You might ask why a conservative woud want to protect Harry Reid? Well, it’s all about politics, my friend.

The Left: Bending Over Backwards to Excuse Racism

A new book about the 2008 presidential election has made quite a stir with its revelation that Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) chose some, shall we say, unfortunate wording when referring to then candidate Barack Obama in some “private” discussions with reporters during the late presidential campaign.
In the book Game Change penned by John Heilemann and Mark Halprin, Harry Reid is quoted as saying that people supported Obama because he was “light skinned,” and because he exhibited no “Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” This implies that Reid thinks dark skinned Negroes cannot win election.
Before the quote was widely known, though, on Saturday Harry Reid rushed an apology to the press, one quickly accepted and downplayed by now President Obama. Both prepared to move forward as if nothing happened. Republicans have pointed to this as a fine example of a double standard. They recalled that Senator Trent Lott was hounded out of leadership in 2002 for making some complimentary remarks about Senator Strom Thurmond at his retirement party. Republicans have now gone on to call for Reid’s removal as Senate Majority Leader in a similar vein to Lott’s situation. Naturally Democrats have demurred from demanding that Reid step down and Republicans are calling this a classic example of the left’s double standard. It is clear that incidents such as this are used to destroy Republicans but similar incidents when involving Democrats are swept under the rug.
