This past week has been a very busy one for Move America Forward.
Fox News once again highlighted our comprehensive report on the plague of attacks against military recruiting centers by anti-military activists. You can see that news report here.
And this week we directed our legal counsel to make a formal request to the U.S. Attorneys office — asking the federal government to investigate whether the Berkeley City Council’s official anti-Marine position and encouragement of anti-war groups to “impede” the work of Marine recruiters constitutes a breach of law. You can see the news release annoncing this action here.
Now we need your help to fund this effort and pay for the legal costs we will incur. We are asking every Move America Forward supporter/member to make a contribution of at least $25 or $50. And to those who can afford a contribution of $100 or more, please please please, help us keep this fight going.
You can contribute online here.
Or if you have a PayPal account you can donate that way here.
Thank you all so much for pitching in! We will not allow our troops to come under assault or ridicule as happened to our Vietnam veterans!

Dishonorable, and Yes Phony, Soldiers

Rush Limbaugh has come under attack by liberal bloggers and some in the news media for a statement he made on his show about “phony soldiers.”
Now I am under attack for defending Rush.
Despite the cries of protest from the anti-war and anti-military crowd, Limbaugh was spot-on right in his characterization.
Limbaugh mentioned in his show the case of Jessie Adam Macbeth, who falsely claimed to have committed war crimes during service in Iraq. The allegations struck a chord with those who wish to regularly impugn the character and honor of the men and women of the United States military. They jumped on the story like jackals on fallen prey, ripping away at the integrity of our heroic troops who serve in a hot war some 7,000 miles away.

Can you see it? Can you feel it? The excitement over Fred Thompson’s potential candidacy for president is capturing the imagination of conservatives across the nation.
The “Run Fred Run” phenomenon is important to talk about not because of Thompson himself, but more because of what it says concerning the mood of this nation and the public’s frustration with a lack of leadership in both the conservative movement and the Republican Party.
The allure of a Thompson for President campaign is even evident among some Reagan Democrats who are weighing in on the blogs – and feeling the heat from their liberal colleagues for even considering the notion of crossing party lines.
Unlike the current crop of declared Republican and Democrat candidates, who have spent years plotting and scheming about how they could win their way to the White House, Fred Thompson is truly being drafted to run by people who are sick of abandoned principles and lack of a moral center.
When moments like this occur, occupants of the political and media establishment seem to shudder with convulsions. It ain’t pretty, but it isn’t surprising.
