Some Facts and Opinions about Martin Luther King, Jr.

Well, it is that time of year when I write my annual column about MLK and his national holiday. As usual, most of the media refuse to read or hear anything negative about him. They are self-appointed guardians of the holy grail. However, they were sure thrilled to write about another Black man–Herman Cain! King’s statement that a person should be judged by his character not the color of his skin is obvious to everyone except the dedicated haters. However, most media, entertainment, and academic people do not practice that philosophy even though nodding in agreement. The media considers facts about King not to be discussible.

Without any reservation I agree with King’s observation that we must judge people by their character and nothing else and will do just that as I take a look at King without any prejudice. I wonder if radical leftists, King worshipers, white liberals, black non-thinkers, media moguls, Joe Six-Pac, and others will do the same? Look at the King facts as you try to control your emotions.

The following facts about King are irrefutable whereas my opinions can be discussed, debated, and disbelieved by anyone. The documentation can be found in my 22-page report “Martin Luther King, Jr.: Judged by His Character, Not His Color.” (cstnews.com)

King was a confessed adulterer having many prostitutes and mistresses as all informed people know; however, we are not supposed to mention that sin in his life. We are told that he was not perfect and was, indeed, a flawed person. That is supposed to negate any criticism; however, while King, his best friend, and his very friendly biographer admit the unsavory fact, we won’t dwell on it. But the media sure dwelt on Cain’s alleged sexual problems. And the charges against Cain were as fishy as a ten-day-dead Grouper.

ABC Whitewashing History: No Ciggies No Whites Only in New Early 60s-Based ‘Pan Am’ TV Series

Remember back in the early 1960s when blacks could get any job they wanted in the American airline industry? Oh, and remember back then how no one smoked cuz it was really, really bad for you and stuff? Yeah. No one else does, either. Well, maybe not no one. Big Three Network ABC seems to remember it because that is how they are envisaging how the world worked back in 1963 for its new TV series about airline stewardesses entitled “Pan Am.”

In yet another example of Hollywood PCism run amuck, producers, we are told, “admitted” that studio execs at ABC-Disney nixed any chance that the show’s characters or extras would be smoking during the series even though the historical fact is that the bulk of the adult population of 1960s America smoked.

In fact, smoking was as common as “Coffee, Tea, or me.” Everyone was allowed to smoke on airline flights in the 1960s. It is just a fact. Yet producers have decided that the show will never portray a single fuming butt in flight despite the historical reality.

Heck, who over 45 does not remember cigarette ads portraying doctors telling consumers how smoking was good for your health? I sure do!

Ex-Black Panther, Current Politician Bobby Rush Uses MLK, Giffords to Call for Gun Control

Bobby Rush always did have a lot of stones. He went from being an outlaw and criminal member of the Black Panthers in Chicago to being a legitimate, elected Congressman from the self-same city. Now Rush is hiding behind both the crime in Arizona and Martin Luther Kin, Jr. in order to push his anti-constitutional gun grabbing agenda.

Yep, a lot of stones.

Rush’s office published a blog post on The Hill’s Congressional blog section for January 16. It isn’t likely that Rush himself wrote the thing, of course, but it is published under his name and carries his imprimatur, so it doesn’t matter who wrote it. What matters is that Rush is using MLK for cover for a gun grab. What matters is that he, like so many other left-wingers, is using Gabrielle Giffords’ shooting to serve his political agenda.

The Beginning of the End of The Race Card?

We are seeing it more and more: black Americans decrying other blacks for throwing the race card.

Here is a great and encouraging video of Congressman elect Allen West talking about the issue with Juan Williams on Fox News.

I Betrayed my Principles and Voted for Expanded Government Power!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

As a member of the Indiana House of Representatives, I never skipped a vote or voted “present” (as did a leading politician of today) rather than go on record on a “hot” issue. Fact is, I introduced some of the hottest issues that came to the House such as teaching evolution and creation on an equal basis in public schools; reinstatement of the sodomy laws; repeal and later expunging of the ERA; bringing back the death penalty; life sentence for rape; etc. I did as I promised in my campaign by voting for bills that were constitutional, limited government, supported family values, and were financially responsible. I also voted against a legislators’ pay hike considering it immoral to raise my own salary. I was accused of taking such positions for “appearance sake” rather than principle.

Of course, I got all kinds of flack from both parties for many of my votes. On the memorialization of Martin Luther King, Jr., I was the only member of House or Senate who voted “no,” a very loud “no.” Even my conservative friends were incensed since it made them appear “less than conservative.” They all agreed with me that a confessed fornicator (we knew even back then) did not deserve a special memorialization even though the bill meant nothing of consequence. The following January, the same thing happened exactly as before! I thought some of my “conservative” friends would join me voting “no,” but alas, they did not.

Jimmy Breslin: Tea Partiers Are Like Kennedy’s Killer Sirhan Sirhan, Are Racists Filled With ‘Madness’

For those that thought faded journo Jimmy Breslin had passed on to his great reward, fear not for ol’ Jimmy is back and this time he wants you all to know that you Tea Partiers are wild-eyed racists filled with madness. Heck you are all as crazy as Bobby Kennedy’s killer Sirhan-Sirhan, you Tea Partiers are dangerous, and prone to riot and your inflammatory air is disturbing Jimmy’s retirement. Shame on you.

In a rambling, maudlin piece for Harper’s Magazine, Breslin, a former Newsday columnist, took after the Tea Party movement in a thinly veiled attack that compares the “national air” today to those days of race riots and the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr., and Bobby Kennedy. Breslin feels that the Tea Party movement is a dangerous element obviously about to turn the country into yet another seething cauldron of violence.

Without actually naming the Tea Party Breslin invokes some of the most turbulent times that America has seen in his lifetime and intimates that those times are returning due to the “mob” he sees in the streets today.

Called on the Carpet: Obama’s New WH Rug Muffs History

September 4, 2010 | Filed Under Barack Obama, Democrats/Leftists, Government, Corruption, History, Liberals, Martin Luther King, Jr., President, Slavery, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

-By Warner Todd Huston

He grew up in Indonesia, his father was a Kenyan, and he’s been fighting the perception that he isn’t much of an American since he became a nationally known entity. Unfortunately for President Obama, his redecoration of the Oval Office is not helping by making him seem just as ignorant about America as his critics claim. This latest gaffe is in the expensive rug he commissioned that has woven onto it a quote mis-attributed to Martin Luther King, Jr.

Obama’s rug has attributed to King an oft-repeated line, “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” Sure King said it. But even King reminded people that he wasn’t its creator.

Jamie Stiehm has the facts regarding this quote. It was originated by the 19th century champion of social progress, Theodore Parker.

Parker was a staunch anti-slavery man who died just on the eve of the American civil war, a man involved in every reform effort of his day, quite a radical for his time. He even supported domestic terrorist John Brown and supplied money for guns to be used in the “Bloody Kansas” fights over slavery.

King admired this white man who fought to end slavery and used his phrase many times — with full attribution, of course.

Atlanta Post: Obama’s Not Black Enough

In the if-a-white-guy-said-it department, a black oriented website called The Atlanta Post is featuring a piece by Yvette Carnell headlined, “Obama’s Achilles Heel: He’s Not African-American,” in which Carnell decides that Obama is failing because he isn’t really black enough to make it all work. Further Carnell asserts that Obama can’t convince African Americans that he is angry enough to be their president.

Aside from the somewhat stilted writing style — Carnell writes as if she’s clumsily attempting literature instead of news/opinion — the piece can really be boiled down into the premise that Obama isn’t militant enough for a real African-American to accept him. He isn’t “a bully,” and he doesn’t look to employ a “David and Goliath” style of governance Carnell says. This all means that American blacks can’t relate to him she posits.

Carnell starts off with a harsh slap at The One saying of his recent Oval Office Iraq War address: “Another Obama address, another failed attempt at messaging by the White House communications team.”

Martin Luther King Would Have Been Proud of the Restoring Honor Rally

August 29, 2010 | Filed Under Christianity, Civil Rights, Democrats/Leftists, Government, Government, Corruption, Journalism, Martin Luther King, Jr., Media, Media Bias, Patriotism, Race, Religion | Comments Off

I had the honor of attending the rally at the Lincoln Memorial.

What a great day for America! Hundreds of thousands of Americans, of all races, came together at the Lincoln Memorial to Restore Honor to our nation. Yes, Glenn Back and Sarah Palin were the main speakers, but the real stars of the event were the people in the crowd. They came from across the country in peace and friendship. The vast multitude of patriots brought to mind a similar gathering on this day, on this spot, forty-seven years ago.

Best remembered about the famed March on Washington is Martin Luther King’s I Have a Dream speech. What was his dream? Was it of a dispirited America, as brought about by the Obama administration? Was it of a county being torn apart by racial and class conflict, as caused the Democratic Party? Was it a downtrodden populace, prodded to submit to Big Government by the socialist media? No!

Race does NOT need to be Discussed

August 28, 2010 | Filed Under Anti-Americanism, Democrats/Leftists, Elections, Government, Government, Corruption, Kevin Roeten, Liberals, Martin Luther King, Jr., President, Race, Uncategorized | Comments Off

-By Kevin Roeten

Race is old hat, right out of the 1950’s. Time to get over it. There’ll always be a deranged small minority who believes a different race is to be impugned. But one party thinks race is what you talk about to get elected. Buckle up if you are a member of either group.

As in Joseph Phillips’ column: America: Still Talking About Race, one of the things Obama said he was trying to do was change the conversation on race. Unfortunately, he has done the exact opposite. As an alleged black president, the country has race on its mind more than ever (even though Obama is only 45% black).

Racism has been charged so many times by one party that it’s becoming worn out, like the old fairy tale about the boy crying ‘wolf’. Representatives Maxine Waters and Charles Rangel have claimed racism is one of the reasons behind investigations into their dishonest dealings.

How about the time Obama used an alleged break-in incident to flash the race card by saying the police ‘reacted stupidly’ after Gates (house owner) was arrested for disorderly conduct. As the police report states, Sergeant James Crowley was a “police academy expert on racial profiling.”

Hey, Walter Fauntroy, the Ku Klux Klan was the Terrorist Wing of the Democratic Party

August 27, 2010 | Filed Under Democrats/Leftists, GOP, Government, Government, Corruption, History, Liberals, Martin Luther King, Jr., Race, Republicans, Slavery | Comments Off

-By Michael Zak

Tomorrow’s Restoring Honor rally at the Lincoln Memorial has the Democrats in a panic. They’re afraid of Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin speaking Truth to Power.

At the National Press Club, Walter Fauntroy falsely accused the Tea Party of having ties to the Ku Klux Klan. In the many years Fauntroy was Delegate for the District of Columbia, he was a member of Congressional Black Caucus, an organization that excludes people on the basis of race. Blind to his hypocrisy, he has falsely accused a political movement open to all races, the Tea Party, of being racist. Speaking at the National Press Club, Fauntroy said: “We are going to take on the barbarism of war, the decadence of racism, and the scourge of poverty, that the Ku Klux — I meant to say the Tea Party… You all forgive me, but I — you have to use them interchangeably.”

Now is the time to speak Truth to Power.

Democrats Protest Glenn Beck Rally Spot but Support Ground Zero Mosque?

The intellectual dishonesty of Democrats is simply breathtaking. To show exactly how out of whack Democrat’s ideology is, they are protesting the site and date of a Glenn Beck rally over his perceived “insensitivity” but on the other hand seem wholly unbothered by the mosque planned on being built at Ground Zero.

Purported civil rights leaders on the Democrat side of the aisle are all upset over the fact that Glenn Beck has planned a rally to be held in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. 47 years to the day after Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech.

Beck said that he has no plans on turning his rally into a partisan political rally but intends it to be a rally to, “honor the troops, unite the American people under the principles of integrity and truth, and make a pledge to restore honor within ourselves and our country.” Beck further says that the date was not a conscious choice but just fit his schedule.

Nothing is normal in our country anymore

“The American people cannot be distracted by racial exploitation; the future of this great nation truly does hang in the balance.” — Steve McCann

Americans need to realize the damage that racial manipulation has done to our country. The blame can be put squarely on the Democratic Party. They have used racism for political gain since the days of the Ku Klux Klan. Let’s have a brief refresher course about just who the Klan were.
