Criminal Unions: The Perfect ‘Government Union Fat Cat’ Story

Today’s example of why government unions should be outlawed is a union chief who ostensibly “works” for the people of New York. He has a grueling two-hour-a-day “work” schedule and spends that time eating lunch, then sleeping.
He’s a real life union fat cat, a perfect example of why government unions should be illegal, and the poster boy for union scumbaggery. He’s the 400-pound Mark Rosenthal, the president of Local 983 of District Council 37–New York’s largest blue-collar municipal-workers union–who earns $156,000 a year in New York’s tax dollars.
Take a look at these photos showing Rosenthal hard at “work”:

The New York Post reports that Rosenthal comes in at two, eats his lunch, takes a nap, then goes home at 4PM to “beat the traffic.”
Every day he uses union funds to buy oversized lunch orders, the leftovers of which he takes home to eat everyday.
Naturally this cretin claims he’s the victim of a “smear campaign.”
But, let’s face it, this guy is what government unions look like. Folks, while you are slaving away, paying taxes, or even finding yourself out of work, these union thieves are sponging off your tax dollars, doing little to nothing for you, and retiring at a young age to enjoy decades of an easy retirement on your dime.
Liberal hero, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, thought that government unions were a terrible idea. He was right. They should be outlawed and this morbidly obese Rosenthal is a perfect example of why.
This man is stealing from New York every day he is employed.

Living up to his promise to attack even Democrats that he deems insufficiently anti-gun, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has announced an ad buy to criticize Arkansas’ Democrat Senator Mark Pryor.
Pryor, who will be running for a third term in 2014, recently voted against the Toomey-Manchin anti-gun bill drawing the ire of Bloomberg and his Mayors Against Illegal Guns group.
Bloomberg’s group has announced a $350 thousand buy for a two-week campaign.
The video ad features former Democratic staffer Angela Bradford-Barnes mourning the loss of Democrat Party chairman Bill Gwatney who was shot to death in 2008 as he worked at party headquarters in Little Rock.
No motive for the shooting was ever determined by police.
In the anti-Pryor ad, Angela Bradford-Barnes mentions Gwatney’s murder and then says that she was “disappointed when Mark Pryor voted against comprehensive background checks.”

Feds Killing Off Private Bus Lines Based on Fraudulent Study

The story of the coming demise of Chinatown bus lines in New York City is a tale of multiple failures in both government and the media and shows that both have a bias against entrepreneurs that kills new, start up ideas with unfair regulations, faux public advocacy, and dismal reporting.
A “Chinatown buss” was a new idea in the late 90s pioneered by Chinese immigrants in the Big Apple. These were private buses that cruised the streets looking for fares like cabs do, picking customers up at curbside, not having fixed bus stops or routes, and going where ever the customer wanted to go within a defined area of the city. Because they originated in New York’s Chinatown area, they became known as “Chinatown busses.”
Unfortunately, their success led to their downfall when nosey politicians like Senator Chuck Schumer began to take notice of them. Schumer and other New York pols began to call for a crack down on the busses and started looking to hit them with an avalanche of stifling regulations meant to “save lives.”
To assist Schumer in that jobs-killing endeavor the National Transportation Safety Bureau jumped to conduct a “study” of the safety records of Chinatown busses and purported to have found that these busses had a death rate “seven times higher” than that of other services.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is at it again, this time going off on Governor Cuomo and many other state legislators claiming they aren’t fit for any job in the private sector.
In a recent interview on a New York TV station, Bloomberg slammed the state’s legislators saying, “The average legislator who has to make policy on things that influence our lives, our kids’ lives, our future, would they ever get a job in the private sector making policy on big things? No, not a chance.”
Bloomberg also slammed Gov. Cuomo for his frequent practice of attaching a “message of necessity” to bills sent to the legislature. This practice forces quick votes on bills and prevents lawmakers from having enough time to fully consider them before being expected to cast a vote.

A formal complaint has been filed with a New York lobbying board to investigate whether Yoko Ono, Robert De Niro and nearly 200 other celebrities have violated state laws with their Artists Against Fracking activist group.
Celebrities are well known for dabbling in social activism whether what they have to say makes sense or not and the recent cause célèbre is the anti-fracking movement. Along with Yoko Ono, actors Mark Ruffalo and Robert De Niro, and ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, the movement has drawn the support of some 200 celebrities all donating time and money to stop efforts toward American energy independence.
The group has sponsored rallies and concerts and on it’s website the celebrity group urges visitors to “Tell Governor Cuomo Don’t Frack New York!”
Pushing the issue on a national TV audience, Ono and son Sean even appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to sing a somewhat ridiculous anti-fracking song at the end of January.

A pro-Palestinian group has commissioned a new billboard ad now appearing at some New York Metro Stations. The ads attack Israel, U.S. foreign policy, and calls for an end to “Israeli Apartheid.”
American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), an Illinois-based advocacy group, bought space at 25 stations on the New York City Transit Authority’s Metro North line and will run these placards for a month before the campaign moves to another city.
AMP calls itself “a national grassroots organization educating the public about Palestine and its rich cultural and historical heritage.”
The placards quote South African Catholic Bishop and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Desmond Tutu: “I’ve been very deeply distressed in my visit to the Holy Land; it reminded me so much of what happened to us black people in South Africa.”
The ad also says: “Americans give Israel $3 billion per year! End Apartheid NOW! Stop U.S. Aid to Israel.”
The ad features a silhouette photo of a gun-toting soldier and a small, crouching boy surrounded by prison-like concrete walls and towers.

Race Card: New York Times Distorts NYPD Commander’s Words

In a front page story, The New York Times intimated that race was a deciding factor in how the New York Police Department determines who to stop in it’s proactive stop and frisk policy that has helped drive crime down to its lowest rate in many decades. The Times reports the words of a police commander secretly recorded during an evaluation with a patrolman but “the paper of record” distorts his words and leaves key parts of the recording out of its analysis making the commander seem to be basing his criteria solely on race.
In the March 21 piece, the Times sonorously informs readers that, “a recording suggests that, in at least one precinct, a person’s skin color can be a deciding factor in who is stopped,” and goes on to selectively report what is on that recording leading readers to think the policy is all about race.
This recording was played during a class action lawsuit questioning the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk policy, a tactic that NYC officials in both the police department and city government credit for the huge drop in crime across the Big Apple. The suit also alleges that there are racial quotas in the policy that “encourage officers to stop people unlawfully.”
The Gray Lady, reports that the police commander, Deputy Inspector Christopher McCormack, urged the officer, Patrolman Pedro Serrano, to stop and frisk “the right people at the right time, the right location.”
The criteria for this policy, the Times leads readers to believe, is race-based.

After many complaints, a Whole Foods store in New York City took down a sign featuring an artist’s depiction of President Obama selling whole organic chicken.
The drawing appeared on a chalk board placed on the sidewalk outside the store located at Columbus and 97th Streets on the city’s Upper West Side.
Some customers and neighbors complained that using the President’s image to sell chicken was an offensive racial stereotype.
On Thursday, Channel 4, WNBC in New York, interviewed a man that lives in the neighborhood of the store.
“There are certain things that have been used to put down black people,” Woody Henderson told reporters.

Now that the Journal News has removed the names and addresses of New York’s legal gun owners from its online map, at least one other newspaper is slamming the gun-outer for its “cowardice.”
In a Friday piece at the Washington Post, columnist Erik Wemple slammed the Journal News for its latest move in this gun owner-outing incident.
Wemple spared no effort to bash the statement issued by Journal News publisher Janet Hasson, calling it “cowardly” and ridiculing the conceit that New York paper used to justify its posting of the gun owner’s names and addresses in the first place.

The New York newspaper that made itself infamous for publishing an interactive, Internet-based map revealing the names and addresses of thousands of New York’s law abiding gun owners has now disabled the feature that allows viewers to see those names and addresses.
The Westchester area newspaper caused outrage among New York’s legal gun owners with its anti-gun stunt as the story surged across the country. Citing public safety issues, as late as last Tuesday a group of 50 current and former law enforcement officials gathered to demand that the Journal News remove the names.
As soon as the map became an issue, legislators began efforts to change the state’s laws to make it illegal to out gun owner’s names. Even though such a law has yet to be put in place, the Journal News has decided to remove the names and addresses on its own citing the “spirit” of the laws under consideration as well as a provision in the state’s latest anti-gun law that passed earlier this week.

No good deed goes unpunished in New York as the state has abruptly cut off a contract with the independent auditor who found that the city and state had been wasting federal money meant to be spent on Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts.
Thomas Sadowski, the fired consultant, told the Times Union that he was escorted out of the building when he visited the New York Office of Emergency Management shortly after he filed his report on November 17.
The state hired Sadowski for his extensive experience in emergency procurement management with the federal government. The certified public accountant also did similar work for 10 years at the U.S. Department of Interior’s Inspector General’s office. Sadowski also trained the U.S. Forest Service, Alaska Fire Service, National Interagency Fire Center, Colorado Wildfire Academy and other government agencies.

The New York legislature has voted to enact a new round of stricter gun laws. It would be the nation’s first such effort since the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
To facilitate quick action, Governor Cuomo was urged to dispense with the three-day public review law and pass some sort of emergency waiver to prevent public debate over the bill. All discussions went on behind closed doors.
The Associated Press reported that weekend dealmaking behind closed doors resulted in a bill that has bipartisan support, but the full legislature had not yet had a chance to see the back room-written legislation as of Monday.
New York State has a constitutional amendment that requires a three-day public review of all laws before they are allowed to take effect, however this bill’s back room dealer makers are urging anti-gun Governor Cuomo to issue a “message of necessity” that would cancel the three-day review period.
Further discussion continued behind closed doors and away from the light of public view.

A Democrat candidate for a seat on New York’s Uptown City Council is turning to race baiting as his primary campaign strategy and recently went all in using the “N” word repeatedly to attack a supporter of his opponent.
Thomas Lopez-Pierre is running for the Uptown City Council seat being vacated by the term-limited Robert Jackson and is outrageously relying on anti-Semitic rhetoric to attack his opponent, Mark Levine. Taking his campaign into racial division, Lopez-Pierre said that Levine would “damage” the community because he is a “white, Jewish candidate.”
But Lopez-Pierre has radically upped his racebaiting with a nasty email he sent to an African American supporter of opponent Levine.
In a vile email, Lopez-Pierre told Levine supporter Brian Benjamin that he was an “uncle Tom N****r b***h,” and went on to say that Benjamin was a “N****r b***h” that had “sold out the Black people of Harlem.”
“I would hope that one day you would give me the legal grounds to b***h slap you,” Lopez-Pierre taunted.

New York: Welfare $$ Used at Strip Clubs, Liquor Stores

It seems as though some New Yorkers on the dole are giving the taxpayers the pole with a new report detailing how welfare recipients are using their state debit cards at strip clubs, X-rated video shops, and liquor stores.
Records of 200 million Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) transactions from January 2011 to July 2012 reveal that the cards were used to withdraw cash at such establishments as “Hank’s Saloon in Brooklyn; the Blue Door Video porn shop in the East Village; The Anchor, a sleek SoHo lounge; the Patriot Saloon in TriBeCa; and Drinks Galore, a liquor distributor in The Bronx.”
As with most states, New York’s food stamp program prevents use of the assistance at liquor stores and cannot be used to purchase liquor, tobacco, and lottery tickets. But there are no such restrictions on the debit cards which can be used at any ATM.
The state legislature has a few bills in the works to correct this oversight, but currently there are no restrictions on where the cash assistance can be spent.

Fox News recently reported that ex-crooks are denouncing the New York paper that published the names and addresses of thousands of the state’s gun owners saying that publishing the information was nothing less than a road map for criminals planning home invasions and burglaries.
In the last half of December, the Journal News a small paper in suburban Westchester, New York, published an interactive map featuring the names and addresses of the gun owners in Rockland County. This information, the ex-burglars say, presents criminals with a ready list of easy targets.
“That was the most asinine article I’ve ever seen,” said Walter T. Shaw, 65, a former burglar and jewel thief who the FBI blames for more than 3,000 break-ins that netted some $70 million in the 1960s and 1970s. “Having a list of who has a gun is like gold – why rob that house when you can hit the one next door, where there are no guns?
“What they did was insanity,” added Shaw, author of “License to Steal,” a book about his criminal career.
The map of gun owners’ homes also gives those crooks specifically interested in stealing guns a roadmap for their criminal enterprises.

The Journal News of suburban Westchester, New York caused outrage by publishing an interactive map showing the names and addresses of New York’s legal firearm owners. In a sort of two-can-play-that-game reaction, a New York blog decided to create a map showing the names and addresses of employees of the newspaper.
The blog “Talk of the Sound” a New Rochelle, New York-centric website, decided that turnabout was fairplay by posting its headlined, “Map: Where are the Journal News employees in your neighborhood?.” The map replicates the idea of the gun owners map published by the Journal News replacing gun owners with newspaper employees.
When the Journal News published the names and addresses of New York’s legal gun owners the paper claimed that they were breaking no law as the information they published was all public record. The paper said it was just too bad if the gun owners felt their privacy was violated.

Another Islamo-Nazi has won a victory smashing the Second Amendment, this time in New York City, the very metropolis where murderous Muslims killed thousands in 2001.
Only a day after an Islamo-Nazi paraded through the New York subway system defacing advertisement posters erected by the New York subway authorities, the city has changed its policy about allowing “provocative” ads.
Bowing to the protests by this hatemongering Muslim, subway authorities have announced that it has changed its policy on ads that they think might “provoke violence.”
The posters that sparked the outrageous outrage of yet another outrageously outraged Islamo-nazi were taken out by The American Freedom Defense Initiative and read: “In any was between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel, Defeat Jihad.”
Islamo-Nazi Mona Eltahawy was incensed enough to begin to deface the ads at subway stations. She demanded that any speech she doesn’t like be censored and that anything even remotely considered negative against that mythical God Muslims call the “Prophet Muhammad” be eliminated. Now New York City agrees with the anti-First Amendment activist.

One of the more absurd aspects of the New York school system is that the teachers union is basically given the right to investigate itself when teachers are accused of sexual misconduct. Sadly, in too many cases the union sides with the criminal teachers instead of their victims.
In the Wall Street Journal, Campbell Brown laments this cozy relationship that unions have with their predator members citing several examples of the failure to punish criminal behavior in New York schools.
“If this kind of behavior were happening in any adult workplace in America, there would be zero tolerance. Yet our public school children are defenseless,” he writes.
This lack of punishment occurs, Brown says, because of how the law is written.

Judging by this whole Chick-Fil-A oppression program liberals are engaging in, it’s no wonder Jonah Goldberg had a hit with his recent book, Liberal Fascism.
This time it is City Council Speaker Christine Quinn who is proud to stand against our Constitutional rights of freedom of speech and freedom of religion, not to mention the right to do legal business anywhere without fearing the iron boot heel of government coming down upon us for having upset some haughty government official somewhere.
Quinn has condemned Chick-Fil-A for having dared to break no laws in the exercise of its daily business and is sponsoring one of those wondrous Internet petitions saying so.
If a petition were to be where her ire ended, well, that would be her right as a private citizen, as far as that goes. But she’s taken that step farther which makes her actions illegal. Quinn’s invoked her powers as an elected official and sent a letter to New York University’s president demanding that the Chick-Fil-A outlet on his campus be shut down.

In a July 21 column by the editorial board of the New York Daily News, there is fault assigned for the massacre in a Colorado theater. The fault is not just assigned to killer James Holmes, but absurdly to Obama, Romney, the NRA and every American that wants to protect the Constitution of the United States. That’s not too much hyperbole, is it?
This extreme, even silly, piece can be considered no less than a screed, an attack on nearly everyone but the man who pulled the trigger on that horrible night. The blame is cast so broadly as to seem idiotic, making the whole editorial something to dismiss instead of something to ponder.
To the editorial board of the NY Daily News, not only is Obama “standing at Holme’s side” as he “sprayed bullets and buckshot into a crowded movie theater” but so was Mitt Romney, the NRA and its President, and every American “zealot” for the Second Amendment.
“In a vain claim of innocence,” the NY Daily News accuses, “the fanatics will say Holmes is a monster and a maniac, that he fired and fired and fired as a man possessed. Each protestation clamps their fingers with his around the trigger.”
Any American interested in the Constitution and the Second Amendment is a gripped by “conscienceless extremism” that dismisses mass killings as if they are but a “fatal highway pileup,” the editorial cries.

Welcome to PS 90, Coney Island, New York, where grade school Principal Greta Hawkins says the patriotic and popular song Proud to be an America by Lee Greenwood is verboten, but the teen sex song Baby by Justin Bieber is perfectly alright for Kindergartners to sing at their graduation celebration.
Kindergarteners at PS90 have spent weeks practicing the popular patriotic country song made a national hit after the attacks on 9/11. It was to be the finale of their “moving-up” ceremony at the end of the school year on June 20.
But school Principal Greta “the Grinch” Hawkins had other ideas. According to the New York Post, during a recent rehearsal, Hawkins stomped into the class room and ripped the Lee Greenwood CD out of the music player proclaiming the song unfit for little ears to hear.
The Greenwood song has such unfit lyrics as, “And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.” Such a bad influence on the kiddies, no?
By contrast, Hawkins seemed to have no problem with the Justin Bieber song that has such scintillating lyrics as, “For you, I would have done whatever. And I just can’t believe we ain’t together,” and, “Are we an item? Girl quit playin.’”

New Yorkers Were Paid to Commit Vote Fraud

A trial has been underway for a week in an upstate New York vote fraud case that has brought to light criminal actions committed by Democrats in city government in Troy, New York that seems to go back decades. Some of the first witnesses are also claiming that they were paid by Democrat officials to commit vote fraud.
The case centers around fraudulent voter registrations and absentee ballots for the Working Families Party, a thinly disguised Democrat Party entity originally created by the disgraced community activist group ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now).
Up to eight Troy Democrats are being charged with various offenses such as falsifying business records and forgery.
Jermaine Joseph, the first witness called to the stand in the case, testified that in 2009 he was paid $10 to sign a voter registration card. Joseph, a former Hudson Valley Community College football player, testified that after he signed his form he was paid $10 by someone from City Hall.

Albany Police Chief Steven Krokoff came in for heavy criticism by fans of the Occupy “movement” after he ordered the clearing of their downtown encampment pursuant to a court order. The arguments over the actions by police have raged since the December 23 conflagration with Chief Krokoff getting savaged repeatedly by the media and some city councilmen alike. But this week Krokoff confronted his critics and he wasn’t gentle about it!
The big criticism arose when officers used pepper spray when the Occupiers became violent. Since then several Councilmen, such as Anton Konev, have criticized the police saying that their actions were unnecessary. Konev, for instance, has announced that he has no confidence in the Chief and is angling to have him fired. Naturally, Konev has been an open agitator for and supporter of Occupy Albany.
But on January 6, Chief Krokoff came before the city council with a strong defense of his and his officers’ actions delivering a withering blast to some of the councilmen that have come to the defense of the lawless Occupiers.

There was once a time when the courts were considered a place of staid scholarship and considered opinion. Those days have been gone for a long time as decades ago the courts became merely another avenue for Democrats to play politics not to mention a tool with which to install in America a left-wing agenda instead of a place to adjudicate the law. This week aged New Jersey Democrat Senator Frank Lautenberg gives us a prime example of the former that will inevitably lead to the latter.
In a move that surprised everyone in both New York and New Jersey, the decrepit Lautenberg submitted the name of New York Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer’s brother-in-law as his nominee for a federal judgeship in the Garden State. I say it came as a surprise because no one at all was aware that Schumer’s relative was even in the running until the nomination became public knowledge.
It smacks of backroom political deal making instead of a legitimate choice for the bench….

Last week 16 dirty New York cops went on trial for all sorts of criminal behavior. From dealing drugs, to assault and grand larceny, and “unrelated corruption,” these cops are proving to be some very crooked characters. But fellow officers don’t care about that. They have ginned themselves up to act like the punks and scumbags they are supposed to be putting behind bars all due to their police union and its agitation over the trials.
Even The New York Times seemed shocked by the venomous treatment these union thugs cops were delivering to the District Attorneys handling the case. Certainly these crooked cops are innocent until the prosecution proves its case, but these union toughs don’t care to let the law take its course. They want to storm the gates like the barbarians they are.
These so-called police officers even began to accost the media as the defendants left the courtroom. Says the Times, “The assembled police officers blocked cameras from filming their colleagues, in one instance grabbing lenses and shoving television camera operators backward.”

Bankrupting America has started a new billboard campaign in both New York City and Washington DC urging the so-called “Super Committee” to cut $1.5 trillion from the federal budget this November.
As the supercommittee continues to meet behind closed doors, it’s important they remember what is at stake. Millions of Americans sit out of work, cost of living is rising, and uncertainty continues to hamstring a recovery. They must keep in mind that they’re not working in a vacuum. The policies enacted within the halls of Congress send ripples throughout the country and the world.
So we decided to place some high-profile reminders for the the members of the supercommittee – that Americans are still watching. We placed billboards in Times Square in New York City and in Washington D.C. telling the supercommittee we remember your promises of fiscal responsibility and commitment to place the federal government’s spending back on a sustainable path.
Keep your promise. Check out the billboards below.

Occupy Wall Street Kitchen Staff Tired of ‘Freeloaders’?

Apparently some of the folks slaving away to cook politically correct meals for the participants of Occupy Wall Street are sick and tired of working themselves to the bone for homeless people, criminals, and other freeloaders who are eating their food. This is called being mugged by reality.
It is also pretty darn funny.
The New York Post reported that volunteer kitchen staff at Occupy Wall Street are angry about working 18-hour days to feed the protesters but are being taken advantage of by the local homeless people and criminals. And they are going on a work slow down to protest at their protest.
For three days beginning tomorrow, the cooks will serve only brown rice and other spartan grub instead of the usual menu of organic chicken and vegetables, spaghetti bolognese, and roasted beet and sheep’s-milk-cheese salad.
The menu as reported by the Post sounds… um… tasty, sort of. I’d rather have a pizza from Godfathers.

Did Rep. Weiner Really Thank His Parents for the ‘Values’ They ‘Instilled’ In Him?

OK, someone really needs to have a nice long sit down with troubled New York Democrat Anthony Weiner. In his resignation speech he actually thanked his parents for the “values they instilled in me,” the ones that got him “this far”… which apparently is thrown out of Congress on his ear. Does he not understand that the entire mess he is currently wallowing in was because of the lack of values he displayed?
Here is the absurd line in question in his resignation speech:
