Once again we see that the Democrat Party is thoroughly un-American and pro-terror with a Democrat Party fundraiser in Virginia with two members of the terror group the Muslim Brotherhood.

As reported on March 10 by the Washington Free Beacon, Representative Gerry Connolly (D, VA) is happy as a clam having terror supporters and Muslim Brotherhood activists Akram Elzend and Sameh Elhennawy at a fundraiser later this month. The pair will co-host the fundraiser at the home of Mohamed Mohamed in Fairfax.

The Muslim Brotherhood has been labeled a terrorist group by Egypt’s new authorities after the many Egyptians killed by supporters of the group in recent unrest there.

Yet, here is Rep. Connolly teaming up with these terror supporters for a fundraiser?

In Virginia, the U.S. Army has built an American city, replete with a church, a mosque, an embassy building, a bank and a working subway system, in order to practice assaulting American cities. Welcome to Obama’s America, folks.

The town took six years to complete, is built on a 300-acre plot of government-owned land in Virginia and cost taxpayers $96 million. It is designed to, “replicate complex operational environments and develop solutions.”

The “training” facility was completed and opened in January of this year and is operated by the U.S. Army’s Asymmetric Warfare Group.

Unveiling the new facility, Colonel John P. Petkosek, the commander of the group, said:

Federal Judge Doesn’t Know Difference Between Constitution and Declaration of Independence

In an important decision striking down the votes of the people of Virginia, a Federal Judge proved she didn’t known the difference between the Constitution of the United States and the Declaration of Independence. Thank you liberal educational establishment.

When U.S. District Judge Arenda L. Wright Allen issued her ruling taking away the vote of the people of Virginia and maintaining that the state’s affirmation of traditional, one man-one woman marriage was unconstitutional, she insisted that it was because the U.S. Constitution said that all men were created equal.

Of course, anyone with a fourth grade education knows that it is the not the U.S. Constitution that makes this declaration but is instead the more aptly named Declaration of Independence.

Here is how this “educated” judge began her cliché-laden opinion.

Virginia Senator Wants to Make Oral Sex Between Teens a Felony

A Virginia State legislator is continuing to work on plans to pass a law to make oral sex between teenagers a felony.

Conservative state Senator Thomas Garrett has submitted a law that calls oral sex among teens a “crime against nature.”

Garrett’s law would make it illegal to have carnal knowledge of “any male or female person by the anus or by or with the mouth” who is of a certain age. The bill stipulates that his bill would not pertain to adults.

Boy Expelled From School For Playing With Toy Gun… In His Own Yard

And now the ultimate in “zero tolerance” stupidity. A school has expelled a boy from school because they heard he was playing with a toy gun in his own front yard.

Khalid Caraballo, a seventh-grader in Virginia Beach, VA, is about to be expelled for playing with an airsoft pistol in his own yard as he waited to be picked up by the school bus.

Thanks to a nosy, buttinski neighbor, who should be prosecuted for improper use of 9-1-1, called the cops on the kids playing in their own yard on Sept. 9. It wasn’t long before the school decided without proof that the boy was somehow threatening people with the gun.

Khalid, though, says that he and a friend were shooting the pellets into Khalid’s own yard but not shooting at anyone else.

Even the buttinski neighbor said that the kids were firing the gun at a target near a tree in Khalid’s own yard and that there was a net behind the target to catch stray shots. No one at all was in any danger.

Crime Drops as Gun Sales in Virginia Soar

August 7, 2013 | Filed Under 2nd Amendment, Constitution, Crime, Democrats/Leftists, Ethics, Government, Gun Control, Guns, Liberals, Progressives, Virginia, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

-By Warner Todd Huston

The saying, “More Guns Less Crime,” seems to be coming true if the Commonwealth of Virginia is any indication as gun sales have soared there even as crime rates have fallen.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch has the story, noting that, “Major gun crime collectively dropped for a fourth consecutive year statewide, while firearms sales climbed to a new record in 2012 with 490,119 guns purchased in 444,844 transactions–a 16 percent rise over 2011.”

The proliferation of guns occurred as the total number of major reported crimes committed with all types of firearms in Virginia dropped 5 percent, from 4,618 offenses in 2011 to 4,378 last year, according to Virginia State Police data.

Looking back over seven years, total firearm sales in Virginia have risen a staggering 101 percent from 2006 to 2012, while gun-related crime has dropped 28 percent during that period.

Now, notice what this means. It means that the left is wholly wrong when it says over and over again that “more guns on the streets means more crime.” It is patently false.

Another Warren Buffet-Owned Paper Goes Belly Up

After 143 years in print, the Manassas News & Messenger of Manassas, Virginia has turned off its printing presses for good.

The Manassas News is another in a long chain of failed local newspapers that have ceased publication over the last decade unable to compete with social media, electronic media, and cable TV delivering news as it happens. The paper stopped publication in November.

The paper was purchased by Warren Buffet’s World Media Enterprises last June, but ultimately the new owner decided that the Manassas News just wasn’t worth continuing.

Along with the cessation of the print edition, the paper also stopped updating its website. All employees lost their jobs.

World Media Enterprises has not announced the closing of any of its other papers but media watchers expect more to come in 2013.

Manassas, Virginia is best known as the site of two major Civil War battles.

VOTE FRAUD: Vir. Dem’s Field Director Conspires to Commit Voter Fraud, Forge Docs

Jim Moran is an extremist, liberal Congressman from the state of Virginia and it appears that his campaign office thinks perpetrating vote fraud is a very good idea. So good that Moran’s campaign field director, his son Patrick, conspired with the undercover camera of James O’Keefe to commit vote fraud through forged documents and other violations of the law.

This is pretty blatant. If this guy is doing this so easily, how often is this going on in every other Democrat campaign office? You can bet its a daily occurrence.

The Watchdog has a lot of great information on these Moran folks.

Key points:

The reporter goes to Moran, says he has a list of 100 people who haven’t voted, and asked for names of people that could help him pull it off. Moran discusses creating utility bills in Word. From pages 3-4 of the transcript:

Court Watching: 2008 Democrat Vote Fraud in Indiana and Virginia

This month two states, Indiana and Virginia, have indicted Democrats and convicted felons on charges of vote fraud during the 2008 election cycle.

While reading these, remember that the left says there is no vote fraud in the USA…

In Indiana four St. Joseph County Democrat officials have had charges filed against them for allegedly forging Obama primary petitions during the 2008 election.

Authorities charge that the scheme to submit the fake petitions for Obama was hatched at the local county Democrat headquarters.

Ultrasound Cacophony: The Left’s Newest Pro-Abortion Lie

February 23, 2012 | Filed Under Abortion, Democrats/Leftists, Health, Liberals, Planned Parenthood, Virginia, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

In the Commonwealth of Virginia the left has a new attack against those that want to regulate abortions. The legislature in the Old Dominion introduced legislation to require ultrasounds to be performed before an abortion could be performed. Idiotically, leftists cried foul claiming the requirement is somehow “like” getting raped. Yet a new study show that the left’s favorite abortion mill, Planned Parenthood, performs ultrasounds before abortions in 99% of its operations.

Talk about making fools of themselves, the left has done it again.

First, let’s look at the left’s claim, though. Speaking for the pro-infanticide set, Dahlia Lithwck at Slate makes the case:

Virginia Attny Gen to Sue FCC Over Net Neutrality

Up to this point, the far left has won the war for branding on the issue of Net Neutrality. Even many conservatives and Republicans have been fooled by the “freedom of the Internet” lies that the left has spun with NN. But the Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli of The Commonwealth of Virginia means to change all that by launching a lawsuit to stop the government take over of the Internet.

First off this claim from the left that they only want to keep the Internet free and open is simply an outright lie. What they really want is two fold. One, they want all capitalist ventures removed from the Internet, and two, they want government to have 100% control over the Internet and they want the Internet treated sort of like a public utility.

The simple fact of the matter is that if government has 100% control over the Internet “free and open” is impossible. Even if this government control starts with no rules over content (and it won’t start that way), it won’t be long before the federal government starts mandating what is on the Internet, starts banning content that it doesn’t like, and starts laying out requirements for those websites lucky enough to be allowed to stay in operation.

What do they say about denial, that it isn’t just a river in Egypt? That old quip constantly is brought to mind as President Obama and his administration prove over and over again that they are in complete denial about the danger we are facing in radical Islam.

This time it is the woefully absurd claim made by Denis McDonough, Obama’s Deputy National Security Advisor, who said that members of many different religions “succumb to terrorist ideologies.” McDonough said this in an address given on March 6 at the Islamic ADAMS Center in Sterling, Virginia.

With his remarks at the headquarters of this Muslim organization, McDonough proved that he simply refuses to recognize reality concerning radical Islam and is even willing to minimize that threat by pretending that all religions contain “terrorists.”

Senator Jim Webb: The Hypocrisy at the Core of the Democrat Party

Virginia’s Junior Senator, Jim Webb, is already hanging up his senatorial career. One term was enough for the so-called moderate Virginia Democrat. He’s announced that he will not run for reelection. But the fact that he got elected at all shows the essential hypocrisy at the heart of the Democrat Party. Webb, you see, is what many might consider a “neo-confederate.”

If Jim Webb had run for the Senate from Virginia as a Republican in the modern era he could never, ever have gotten elected no matter which party the state is leaning toward at any given time. Yet Webb was given a pass for his neo-confederate sympathies and allowed to sail to election back in 2006.

What about all this “neo-confederate” business? Well, back in 2004 Webb published a book titled “Born Fighting: How the Scots-Irish Shaped America.” This book was very friendly to the old Confederacy of our Ciil War era.

Name That Party: Another Criminal Democrat Goes Unidentified by Old Media

November 13, 2010 | Filed Under Associated Press, Crime, Democrats/Leftists, Ethics, Government, Journalism, Liberals, Media, Media Bias, Virginia, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

-By Warner Todd Huston

Every now and again I like to play “name that party.” This is the fun parlor game where you read a story about a politician that has either been indicted, arrested, or imprisoned and try to guess by the story from which party he hails. If you read the story and no political party affiliation is mentioned, 99 out of 100 times you can be sure that the troubled pol is a Democrat. However, if it is a Republican that is going to jail or to court his party usually makes the first paragraph if not the headline itself.

Well, today we have yet another edition of “name that party” going on in the Old Line State where Prince George’s County Executive Jack B. Johnson and his wife Leslie have been arrested and charged with tampering with a witness in connection with a criminal offense and destruction of evidence in a federal investigation. Johnson is a Democrat, not that the news helps you learn that little factoid.

As this is breaking news, the story has popped up on the AP, the Washington Post, Reuters, and several other sources. The stories are filled with all sorts of details about the case, what the charges are, the particulars of the crime, the names and offices of those accused, their ages, where they live… all these things fill the various stories that announce the arrest. But one tiny little detail seems to have escaped many of the news stories: the fact that Johnson is a Democrat. It seems like they just plum forgot to mention his political party.

You are shocked, I am sure.

Vir. Rep. Moran’s Fake Endorsements

October 13, 2010 | Filed Under Congress, Democrats/Leftists, Elections, Government, House of Representatives, Liberals, Virginia, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

Democrat Representative Jim Moran of Virginia’s 8th District is seeking reelection and like all politicians he proudly displays those groups and individuals that have endorsed him on his campaign literature. But Moran has a bit of a problem with at least two of his claimed endorsements. They didn’t endorse him.

As it happens Rep. Moran has included two endorsements on his literature that simply can’t have happened. He lists endorsements from Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) but neither association endorsed him. Further neither ever endorse political candidates.

To be sure that neither DAV nor MOAA endorse political candidates, I gave both a phone call and it was confirmed by representatives from those groups that they do not do so. In fact, they cannot do so for tax reasons.

$400 K For State Employee That Never Showed for Work For 12 Years

August 29, 2010 | Filed Under Budget, Crime, Democrats/Leftists, Economy/Finances, Government, Liberals, Lobbyists, Taxes, Virginia, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

-By Warner Todd Huston

CNN reports that an employee contracted with the state of Virginia for 12 years seems to have never actually done any work for the agency she was attached to, Norfolk officials say.

This employee was discovered by the new director of the Norfolk Community Services Board who was looking through the office’s records finding the no-show job. Once the new director found this freeloader she was terminated and charges may be filed over the more than $400,000 she was paid for her “work” these last 12 years.

Apparently this woman “worked” for some sort of community program that isn’t run directly by the city that supplies some of its funding. These politically created “jobs” are mandated by law and seem to have little or no oversight.

Virginia Challenge of Obamacare Wins One in Court

August 2, 2010 | Filed Under Barack Obama, Capitalism, Commerce Clause, Constitution, Democrats/Leftists, Government, Health, Law, Liberals, President, Regulation, Taxes, Virginia, Warner Todd Huston | Comments Off

-By Warner Todd Huston

U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson refused to dismiss Virginia’s lawsuit against Obamacare, today, allowing the suit against the federal government to continue on to the next stage.

The federal government sought a dismissal of the suit that challenges the Constitutionality of the part of Obamacare that requires every citizen to buy healthcare insurance.

In his report, Judge Hudson said:

The guiding precedent [on the Commerce Clause] is informative but inconclusive. Never before has the Commerce Clause and Necessary and Proper Clause been extended this far. At this juncture, the court is not persuaded that the Secretary has demonstrated a failure to state a cause of action with respect to the Commerce Clause element.

The chief claim of Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is that the mandate to buy insurance violates the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. The federal government was attempting to have Virginia’s lawsuit thrown out with the claim that it doesn’t and should be thrown out because it is obvious that Obamacare does not violate the Constitution.

The judge, however, disagreed that it was so obvious and has allowed the suit to go forward.

It is Attorney General Cuccinelli’s contention that the insurance mandates expand federal power to never before seen heights of power in violation of the Constitution. It is an obvious conclusion, too.

Tea Party Board Endorses Ben Loyola in VA 2nd District GOP Primary

May 27, 2010 | Filed Under Democrats/Leftists, GOP, House of Representatives, Norvell S. Rose, Republicans, Tea Party, Virginia | Comments Off

-By Norvell S. Rose

(VIRGINIA BEACH, VA) – MAY 26, 2010 – Following lengthy and vigorous investigation and deliberation, the Hampton Roads Tea Party (HRTP) Board of Directors endorses Ben Loyola in the GOP primary in Virginia’s Second Congressional District.

“After thoroughly and thoughtfully evaluating the GOP candidates vying for the Second District nod,” says HRTP Founder and Chairperson Karen Miner Hurd, “the Board has decided to make a clear declaration of its support for Mr. Loyola.”

“The Hampton Roads Tea Party was created to fight back an overreaching, corrupt, and obese government – at all levels,” says Hurd. The Tea Party movement, including the Hampton Roads Tea Party, holds both the Republicans and the Democrats accountable for the current state of the Nation. The political elites are not listening to the people who pay their salaries. In 2010 we have an opportunity to send representatives to Congress who WILL listen and who know that they are obligated to the people – the voters – not to a political machine.”

Tea Party Board to Announce Endorsement in VA 2nd District Race

May 24, 2010 | Filed Under Congress, Economy/Finances, GOP, House of Representatives, Norvell S. Rose, Republicans, Tea Party, Virginia | Comments Off

(VIRGINIA BEACH, VA) – MAY 24, 2010 – Continuing to build upon the strength and momentum of successful Tea Party activism around the country, the Board of Directors of the Hampton Roads Tea Party (HRTP) will announce its candidate endorsement in Virginia’s Second District Congressional race. The candidate backed by the HRTP Board will be made known during the HRTP-sponsored radio show, FreedomWize, on Wednesday, May 26, between 10-11AM. FreedomWize airs each Wednesday morning on WYRM, AM1110.

“After thoroughly and thoughtfully evaluating the many candidates vying for the Second District seat,” says HRTP Founder and Chairperson Karen Miner Hurd, “the Board has decided to make a clear declaration of its support for one of them. This decision has not come easily,” adds Hurd. “But so many of our members have asked for guidance in this critical contest, we felt it our duty to let people know what we believe. While the Board of Directors doesn’t necessarily speak for the 2000+ members of the Hampton Roads Tea Party, we do want to speak to them,” Hurd explains, “as well to anyone else interested in better understanding the crowded race.”

I read, and I write for, the Highlands Newspaper, a weekly paper with a modest circulation. The Editor, also my editor, is Kim Lewicki. She ran an article in last week’s issue that was excellently written and edited, and worthy of sharing with my national audience.

The week before, Erika Olvera, a former Police Officer in this town, filed an EEOC Complaint against the Town of Highlands. Our experience with Officer Olvera was limited, but we found her to be diligent and capable. She worked for the Town for two years. She is a naturalized American from Mexico, who has lived in this area for about 20 years.

About six months after she was employed by the Police Department, a nasty rumor circulated that she had had an affair with Police Chief Bill Harrell. (In a small town, everyone hears everything.) I said at the time the rumor may have nothing to do with her, but may be an effort by one of the other officers to undermine the Chief. Suffice to say, Bill Harrell is married.
